- A general discussion on style and how you can find yours!
**My computer is being weird right now, so I can't tell if the video is super pixelated or not. If it is, try HD and let me know in the comments so I can hopefully fix it.
mAN this video is late!!! I am so sorry guys, but the past several months have been intense. I wanted to wait even longer to polish some things up, but I figured it'd be better to just slap it up now and move on to the next one.
So yeah, let me know if this was helpful! Let's keep the style discussion rolling in the comments section; I'm all ears.
This makes so much sense. For me all my life I wrote my a's a certain way and in the 7 th grade I wanted to change the way I wrote my a's. It was tough and in my notebooks you could see it would change every word and was a conscious effort. But now I write fluently.
That is a fantastic discription of developing artistic style. The comparison with handwriting is perfect and so easy to understand. Thanks
That handwriting analogy is perfect. great video
That analogy was amazing - it spoke volumes to me and has actually given me the confidence to get drawing again and not to worry so much. Thank you
The more you talked about an artists style and how they get it makes me regret not drawing in my sketchbook each day 😭😩
Good answer !!! You're right, the basics come first! That's what I'm doing!! (Practicing) :)
hearing this theory helped a great deal. thank you. i love your work 🌻
Thank you so much!
Biana, thanks for making it so clear for me now. Its been so much confusion about this whole idea. You explained well and heyy thats truly an amazing talent you have there. Keep doing more!
Thank you so much. I have been trying and trying to find my style, this video helped me so much! As I listened I noticed how observant your artwork seemed. It looked like the people you drew were real, and not all the same. Thank you so much!
I think this is a great answer!!
I actually was the 1st grader who stressed over my letters. 😅
me too, i would make myself practice writting certain letters better, and if i messed up, id have to write that letter 20 more times, and if i messed up on those, id do it 20 more times....i dont think that helped considering how shitty my handwriting is right now tho lol
Sofia Green ikr!
Beautifully said
That Jesus in the middle when the eyebrow went out 😂😂😂 I love your theory and advice. It has helped me so much and now I feel good about me not having a style like my admired artists.
Hey I used to tattoo back in the day but now I'm back at it and I love ur straight foward no shit attitude keep it up great artist by the way
+nick burr Yo, thank you so much! My goal is to keep my videos as frank and to the point as possible.
thanks great videos, set my heart on fire.
I look up basic drawings ( maybe little aliens) amd I take it and draw it in a different position
Good topic to hear, and the quality of the video is good! I felt like my computer was giving me issues on my art video too. Anyways, you got a subscribe from me girl! Can't wait to watch more videos!
3:00 and you've got them to. I'll- ol I'll stop but I just absolutely love that song.
Julia Michaels Issues- wonderful song
What a great video ;0; this is helping me so much with developing a style
When I was learning cursive in like 2nd or 3rd grade, I was terrible at zs. I didn't care but my teacher did, and I had to write a full page of cursive zs. I'm no better at it, but I have changed my handwriting consciously. I can consciously erase and rewrite a letter into what I want to switch to and eventually I just write it that way normally, but usually with small changes. Like I tried to get myself to write loops in my lowercase ys, but it didn't work. However, my y tails did grow significantly longer from trying to do that.
This is perfect it's the most accurate answered to this question
this video is just so great.. I really wish I had seen it much earlier..
I like your sketching style :)
Thank you! ;u;
Is there a way you could do a video on drawing male faces? Or side views of faces? I'm learning how to draw a bit better, but I'm still struggling in a fee areas.
MoonKhild Okokok I just learnt how to draw side angle faces by continuously drawing them untill it looked right. I recommend literally looking up side view images of people, and slowly changing bits and turning it into your style. My first moderately good side view picture was of Suga from BTS. The main thing I learnt was to not stretch the head upwards or downwards. if anything, squish it.
Also, if you draw in a cartoon or anime style, a lot of the time when you first draw the sketch of the basic face shape, the mouth will look weird. Just add a little line a couple millimetres away from the middle of the lips.
Sorry if that didn't make any sense, I'm pretty bad at explaining things. x3
No no that made sense. It doesn't amaze me that practice will help me improve. I appreciate it; thank you so much ;)
MoonKhild No problem. :)
Biana, you are very talented! Do you have a syndicated comic yet?
That really makes sense thank you !
what pen are you using to ink your drawings?
A pentel sign pen with brush tip and water-based ink
Biana Bova thx!
Well said
I LUV THIS CHANNEL
What black pen are you using? It looks so good to use!
+The Artful Rogers It's a Pentel sign pen with brush tip. It's so freaking good for inking I can't endorse it enough!!
+Biana Bova Thanks for the quick reply! I'm in need of some new black ink drawing pens and they looked awesome to use! I managed to find them on ebay, plus a set of Faber Castell fineliners for cheap :)
The Artful Rogers I also use faber castell to ink. I normally use 1.5 or fine. when I do. small details I use extra small.
What brand of sketchbook do you use?:D
+Paige Sykes I think that one was just a super basic drawing sketchbook? I wish I had a more detailed answer but I never get the same thing twice so it's hard to remember o.O
i can't say a thing bad about the way you explain things or your drawing but the way you hold pencil is hurting my eyes.
+Neylei Tarento CZ Lol yeah I get that a lot..;;;
sorry
Neylei Tarento CZ nah, I think it's amusing xD
Lmao I hold my pencil the same way, except I put my thumb over my index finger.
Biana Bova dude I hold my pencil (and utensils) the same way lol. Do you know how long my parents wasted money on pencil grips to "fix" me?
What if my handwriting is trash since always? Will i be artist with trash style forever? ;_;
What pen did you use
IVE BEEN TRYING FOR 7 FUCKING YEARS.
What kinda of pen are you using?
+Jade06Sixx A pentel sign pen with brush tip. It's SO GOOD for inking like I have tried everything and nothing even comes close.
+Biana Bova thank you! I'm definitely gonna try it out.
I'm actually still struggling with my handwriting also... 😂😓😅
Oh god, looks like I'm screwed, my handwriting is still awful :P
Hahhaahahhaha legible? Nah
Lol I was the same. I'd just try and draw like everyone else around me because I thought my art pretty much sucked. But pretty soon I got the hang of my own style. This video left me so inspired! Do u have any social media where I could see more of your art?
