Within nature, it isn't just men and women who are susceptible to the conditions as life and death are very much an active part of the entire process which makes this world possible.
In this adventure, I stumbled upon an animal which was hurt and dying and I did my best to care for it until it passed away; it was an intense adventure for many reasons.
Additionally, the brutality of nature is presented with a series of high elevation storms with some VERY close lightning strikes.

What backpack are you wearing?
You are a good soul Luke, YHWHs blessings on you and your family.
Love the intro! What song is playing in the background? Glad to see you polishing up the videos! Pro
Luke Irish spring for ticks it helps keep them off i understand the back, broke mine 6 years ago today they told me I'd never walk again it took months to get my legs under me and I'm hiking on and off more and more took braking my back to make me appreciate walking
@@KneightRiduh I was thinking it was well paced.
Of course you did the right thing assisting that bird. No animal should have to suffer needlessly. Nature can be brutal, but sometimes we can ease the natural brutality, by helping when we can.
He should have just smashed it with a rock, so that it didn't suffer at all....
@Diving Duck I don't like to see anything die, but dying slowly is the worst way to go...
Yeh, I did this to a rabbit that messed itself up real damn bad on a barbed-wire fence. I wouldn't have even noticed it if it wasn't for the screams/squeals coming from it.
@@johnganshow5536 I agree. Not a fun thing to do, but there was no way it was gonna survive. It's the most merciful thing to do. Getting it out of the sun was the next best thing..
@@johnganshow5536 wer all assuming that the bird was suffering horribly.. God takes care of his creatures even when their sick and about to die.. read about the endorphin system
I'm a lifelong Hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. In my opinion, you did the right thing. You showed respect, in a way you felt was proper. And that's what really matters!
Keep up the good work!
morris pate couldn't agree more...
Compassion is a must no matter how small the animal. Im also a hunter and belive every animal deserves respect and compassion no matter how small.
I agree too. Native Americans always did the same honor to the animals.
Luke, your enthusiasm is infectious. You are one happy soul. Thank you for taking the time to help the baby bird. You’re a true empath. Love you!!!🥰
I’m with you on caring for the bird Luke. Sometimes a little compassion is all you can do. S&H my friend. 👍🏻
Shipping and Handling to you as well, my brother.
Heartbreaking to see that little bird in distress. Rip little one. Bless you Luke. You are a genuine person and I appreciate your reviews, efforts and of course your respect for the outdoors, and animals.
Man Luke, you did what you could for that bird. You were able to keep it from suffering in the direct sun light. Good on you my friend.
hi luke you did the right thing, you acted both as a mom,and dad to the baby bird, and he's letting everyone know in heaven, that he met someone special, that took care of him.!
Compassion is always the right thing. Great trip as well and thank you.
Hello Luke, I believe you did the right thing for the bird, always follow your instincts, awesome video an review, stay safe, God bless you and your Family always. 🇺🇸🔥☕️🇺🇸👼🏻👼🏻
You did the right thing helping that bird. He’ll be watching over you every time you camp in this area. Great video.
Got a suggestion for you. How about an overnight with just Walmart gear
I believe he’s done just that on multiple past episodes, hasn’t he? 🤔
@@lokeshdevraj I do believe he has a quick UA-cam search will pull it up
@@lokeshdevraj yes he has done a couple of just walmart stuff
I loved the video. Thank you for treating the birds with respect and kindness, the world needs more of that.
Thank you for helping with the birds Love, and kindness!! Kudos!
i keep seeing the camera views of him walking toward or away from the camera and forgetting that he is alone. its such a part of cinema today that i just take it for granted that he as to first set up the camera, then walk away, walk the trail for his shot, and then go back and get his camera again, just to rewalk it all, lol. admirable dedication to the cinematography.
Love the video. Regarding the baby bird, I once had an adolescent raven land on my head when I was watering my garden. Wasn't sure if it was male or female but I thought it was a him. I had seen the little guy watching me so when he landed, I wasn't too freaked out because I immediately knew it was him. He had flown by close by my head a couple times. I moved him on to my shoulder and he just sat there looking at me. Anyway, I could tell he was hungry but couldn't find any worms or crickets, so ended up getting some lunch meat, sliced turkey I think. He gobbled it up, seemed to like it. He then flew off, but I was always worried if I had done the right thing, you know, did the meat make him sick. In the end I just had to hope I helped him out and maybe that little meal got him through until he caught his own food. Your story reminded me of that day. Also I think you did the right thing.
Thank you for careing. And being kind to that lil bird god bless you
Dude, do no harm, you did none. You improved the little fellas' life, what was left of it. Shit happens, you did the right thing. You have a big heart, kudos .
This is why I love this channel! I am 15 years Military/25 years State Trooper/ Mantracker Trainer/Outdoorsman/ 49 year Backpacker...and consider myself a man's Man, but I like you have a heart and respect nature! I have done the same thing you did with the birds twice in my life. God Bless you Luke!
Always help an injured creature in any way you can. You did the right thing.
Regarding the birds, remember that we are also part of nature! Your choices were a kindness in honoring another fellow creature. ❤
What you did with the birds was very humane, Luke. Nature has its way of "disposing" death but there is no wrong in our intervention. Wow, that tent strongly resembles a Chinese tent I picked up several years ago in my travels. I bought it due to the chosen venue of my travel buddies, ie. no trees. Anyway, it cost me the equivalent of $90 and it is really an awesome tent. One man tent with vestibules and doors bilaterally. During a storm I placed my gear in one vestibule and cooked in the other. The other guys had to take turns cooking in a single vestibule of a Marmot tent. I bought a cheap Coleman tent to add to my car camping gear. For $59 it is palatial and accommodates a Coleman cot with plenty of spare room. It rained part of the night (love the sound of rain on a tent) and stayed dry...not a single drop of water in the tent interior. I had an Aqua Quest tarp at the ready just in case. Your "top of the mountain"adventure was cool! I really enjoy the spontaneity of your adventures. U da man, Luke!
You did the right thing sir.
Mercy is the sign of a great man.
Concerning the birds, as long you did what you felt was right. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks or says. It shows you have a kind heart, and that is good.
“Do your best forget the rest” awesome motto 👍
Thanks for trying to help out birdie, not much could be done that far out but a little compassion in its last hours.
love the channel btw :)
You did the right thing, Luke !!!
You kept their family together, in life, and death.
Thank you for that.
Keep up the great work !!!
No Uncle Luke, you did the right thing by taking the bird into the shade. I started out thinking you talked a little too much, but now have grown to like it. I'm a 61 year old man that wishes I had the time to camp out once in a while. But being a maintenance man for a 209 unit mobile home community doesn't leave me any free time. So for now I will live my desires through you.
RIP Birdies.
You did the right thing. Thank you
God gave us dominion, and you showed compassion. Blessings upon you for this.
God gave us the brains, and the Heart to Share, Respect, have Compassion, to live and let live.
The need to Dominate is a sickness of the ego veiled mind, which must eventually be conquered by Grace.
Just sayin.
Peace
Richard Anderson well said, Richard.
@@faithrada just saying the Bible CLEARLY states GOD gave humanity dominion over the earth. Please do not warp the Word of GOD into a twisted curse. Yes, being given domion includes RESPONSIBLE STEWARDSHIP, at which mankind has woefully FAILED. BUT the scriptural fact remains GOD gave dominion over His earthly creation to humanity.
The bible also says it is ok to own slaves. So maybe it is not a good source .
@@RageFan4Life The slaves in the Bible are workers, not how we see slaves now. And without the Bible, the western world as we know it wouldn't exist. All of our laws are based off the Bible and its perception of good and evil so yes, the Bible is a very, very good source.
Aside from encountering the poor birb and not being able to cook a hot meal this sounds like a nice trip. Listening to rain and thunder is a natural white noise perfect for sleeping.
Absolutely did the right and moral thing comforting that little bird. God bless you brother
I do the same thing when I find a dead dog on side of the road. First I try to find its owner and if no one claims it, I’ll give it a decent burial I feel all life is sacred even wildlife. I give you kudos for your honoring those beautiful birds as well. Compassion is in short supply these days.
Great Video and yes you did the right thing. Never let an Animal suffer if you can help it.
The Tent looked great and I have learned the hard way to always Seam Seal and Spray down any new Tents.
Luke, my father was an old military guy. He’s gone now and I have all his gear. I love the fact everything is made to last and endure the elements. The stuff is tuff like he was. Always enjoy your hikes and gear reviews. (Old guy from Arkansas)🇺🇸
Compassion and character, you rock Luke👍👍 Nice journey, carry on. Enjoy!
great vlog well constructed. good location natural as can be. tent looked quite a good choice under those conditions. you did right by the birds in my book. thanks for sharing. Bushyboy Oz.
I would've done same thing with the birds. I can't stand seeing anything suffer not even mice or birds so u did right thing. Love your vids
You live life as it should be lived. Always a lift to share your journeys. Thanks from England for all the hard work!
Susie he survived his day out with nature, so when he gets home, give him a hug, he deserves it. Cheers Luke.
Yes you did the right thing and the kind humane thing! Thank you for being so kind to the baby!
You are a very nice guy and very smart about camping I love hearing your stories and I enjoy the scenery that way that you walk through thank you for bringing me all along you made my day Valerie Durr Charleston South Carolina
I love this channel, so many great things, just a nice break from our crazy world, Strength and Honor for sure!
Love the videos Luke. Keep up the great work. My son, my daughter and I Watch all the time. And you did the right thing Burying the birds.
That intro.... Nice work. Stepping up the edit game sir. It's good man.
Thank you Luke for taking care of that little bird and showing compassion for them.
First time I think I’ve ever got teary eyed watching your vids ❤️
Luke, yes, you most certainly did the right and humane thing in regards to the bird(s)! Thank you for that simple act of kindness!! An amazing trip! Thanks for sharing ! I realize that video was from two years ago but I felt like you deserved a comment from those who watch. Cheers, Paige
Luke You Did The Exact Right Thing For The Birdies. They Are Gods Creation In Creatures Your Heart Is In The Right Place God Bless You❤❤
Compassion and your kindness are great Luke. We are all in the path of what nature has in store for us. Not a single one of us like that bird has any options but to live what ever life is bestowed or what length of time is stamped upon us. But to have been in this realm has been magnificent more than anyone can ever have dreamed...
You did good caring for the little bird . Yes I love roughy seas and storms too . They are exciting to experience.
My wife and I help any animals we can and humanely put down the ones that can't be helped. Nothing wrong with that. We now have a roughly 12 pounds cat I found with another just a couple days old. This one made it but the other didn't.
Great video! I just set up my Fido 2 AI for the first time yesterday just to check it out. It rained and had no leaks. I really like this tent. Be safe. Thank you for all your content.
Lovely to see how humane your instincts are. Never let youre moral courage weaken. These convictions are part of your strength. Good man.
Hey Luke, great video. I love your Military Surplus adventures, glad to see another one. You did a nice thing by burying those birds. Look forward to the next videos, thanks.
Hello Luke --- my message here is: We are all winging it in the web of life. Having compassion is doing the 'right' thing along with passion, time, and experiencing the great outdoors.
Hi Luke..I feel you did the right thing, you follow your heart and you’ll always be right. Its not wrong to show compassion. ❤️
You did the right thing Luke. Compassion is one of the better parts of being human. Respect to you and your loved ones!
Thanks for caring Luke, you did all that you could. 🙂Thanks for sharing the experience.
Hi , very nice what you did for the baby bird . You are
A big man with a big heart . Well done !
Nice day trip Luke, you are so lucky to have so many wonderful trails available to the public in America. Best wishes.
My girl friend is a nurse and we found a tiny bird with nothing but skin.
We fed it tiny pieces of bred and red worm chunks..
He ? survived and chirped like crazy so we named it Squeak.
He was always around until FALL then we never saw it again.
Who does the filming when your walking around?
Thanks for the beautiful video
BOB
SnugPak Hammock FTW at the 20:00 minute mark! i know, i know, military gear :) Thanks for another great adventure!
Finally.... my tent. I cannot wait to hear more and see more videos concerning your experiences. Being a veteran I really enjoy watching your surplus videos and adventures. My favorites are the cooler months. One I have watched several times is when you used the marine corps ruck and built the hasty shelter. I also appreciate the kind and respectful gentleman you are, the qualities really add to your videos/ channel. Keep up the great work Brother!
You done right my friend, you're a good man Luke. Looking forward to your West Virginia hike
Very enjoyable trip Luke. Helps to take my mind off our current ConV stay-at-home order here in Cal.
You absolutely did the right thing Luke! You are a good man.
Super video Luke thanks!
Well done Luke on another great video, and your compassion showed with the dying baby bird.
I can honestly say I would have done the same thing.
Nice one bro 👍🏼
You do such an awesome job editing your videos. Well done!!
Southern humidity, AKA : "Air you wear!"
why i moved back north to NY but the west is calling.
I guess it does have a rainfly. Good video Luke. Thanks for taking the time to entertain us.
Another great trip. Thanks.
You did the right thing. Most would've kept on walking. You went above and beyond. Good man.
I do moto-camping and used a tarp for my shelter and wool blanket to cover with until i went to my local military surplus, they had just gotten a shipment in of litefighter tents in and i must say it was the best $25 spent on a tent and $115 on a modular sleep system. The litefighter fits perfect in my loadout pack and for the sleep system....well lets just say its my new back rest 😁. Great review thanks for sharing.
..50 years ago, i would have been right behind you..lol..thanks for a great adventure...
Awesome video Brother and thank you for what you did for the birds
Thank you Like for doing what you could for the little bird...you have a good heart 💓.
Oh...and thank you for taking time to bury them.
Right choice for the birdie. Great video and review. Thank you again.
Luke... U are the sweetest man ever!!!! To help that bird was so unbelievable!!! Bless u! Mary in COLORADO!! By the way keep that humidity in NC...! Lol
You did the right thing to make the bird more comfortable. You do what you can with what you have at the time. Good man!
Thank you for helping the baby bird 🐦 love the rain 🌧️🌧️ forest gump🤣🤣
You did the compassionate thing and I applaud you for that👍
I have found animals in those situations many times also ...and like you I buried them......do what feels right for you in your heart...that's never wrong....God bless...🙏
Litefighter 1 OCP was delivered to me finaly. Your reviews of this tent were super helpful and I simply love this piece of gear. Cant wait to try camping in heavy rain. Thank You for sharing your knowledge.
Fun video. Thanks!
After reading some of the comments Luke, I want to add you did the right thing 100%
I would have done the same thing.
I have not seen a situation where you have done the wrong thing in the massive amounts of videos I have seen of yours.
Your views are on point, your instincts are on point, and your heart is in the right place.
Anyone can tell you are a good man, and have ethics and morals.
There will always be someone not putting themselves out there as you do that will have something negative to say, but believe me when I say there aren't many left out there like us.
You keep doing what you do, a lot of us appreciate you and think a lot of you, your family and the work you put into sharing your life with us.
My gosh! The production of this vid is a1! 💯 to you Luke!
U did everything you could and that’s all anyone can ask of you as always strength and honour👍✌️
Hi Luke...to me it shows your heart is in the right place. Good for you to help that tiny baby bird,to give him some comfort. I wish everybody did the same for all Gods creatures. Great video Luke as always. That was quite the storm! 🐺🌲❤️☕️
Just goes to show what kind of human you are Luke. Not much you can do for the bird but you did something. You have a kind heart. Good on you brother. Respect
Been waiting for more Over nighters and weekend trips you do a great job
Morning buddy 😁 👍 🇬🇧. What can I say but nice one. Great gesture with the little one. ATB Andy 🇬🇧
don't worry about the birdies..you showed compassion and empathy as we all should do. And no you didn't upset the balance in nature contrary to what some "Huggers" may think
I think you did the right thing. That was so nice of you. Oh yes... hard rain. Great.
For the spiderwebs, carry a thin stick and sweep the trail ahead of you as you walk. In the Phillipines we held our rifles upright in front of us and that would get all the banana spiders who like to spin their webs across trails because it's an open area where insects and large beatles like to fly through the jungle. It's also handy for beating snakes out of the way when you come across them.
For ticks, you should be wearing pants, and probably also some gaiters. This kept vermin off our legs, including leeches, scorpions, and jungle ants.
Hot humid atmospheric conditions are more comfortable to hump in, you stay soaked and your sweat has a chance to run down your skin carrying away heat. Stop once in a while and your body heat will evaporate this, it may not seem like it but there is airflow, you just have to get used to it. Dry heat evaporates the sweat too quickly and you don't know you're in trouble until you get heat stroke. Just be sure you drink plenty of water to replenish fluids, and supplement it now and then with salts to replace electrolytes and prevent cramping muscles.
The shoes you wear are terrible, it's no better than wearing running shoes, too much flex and not enough support, they'll give you blisters and raw spots when you're humping 25 miles a day or more, plus not enough traction. I recommend some good lace-up military boots that reach at least three quarters of the way up your calf, with vents in the instep and a stiff, roomy toe box. Applying moleskin on the back of the ankle, rear edge of the heel, across the top of the toe joints and on the outside of the foot edge before humping will prevent blisters until your feet get used to it. And always keep your feet dry by changing socks frequently, which should reach up to just below your knee joint.
Shorts may be cool, but they're crappy for the bush. The British learned this the hard way in World War Two in places like Burma and Sumatra.
Luke you are truly an Inspiration !!
You should be satisfied with your choices and remember it's part of nature.
Thank you. You showed the respect that you should have to the birds Your heart gave you the correct answer right away.
This video was such a joy to watch, nature is so beautiful!
Thanks for sharing this information and great video with us.
Best time I ever had was camping during a rain storm. Love it !
