its addictive isn't it? I love this version even with all the mad auto-tune effects on the vocals1 Its got a vibe as they say! Such a brilliant song/band
Thanks so so much! I've been waitting to see those vids for a very long time. Craig sounds wonderful, such a shame that the autotune is so annoying, he would sound better without it, I think he didn't like it either. I don't know why they autotuned him...
Not sure about that. I can't remember if it's this one or another video, but there's a point where it sounds as though Craig realizes he's being autotuned and deliberately attempts to toy with it, which was kind of amusing to watch. Either way, I doubt it was the band who asked for it - I've seen several other AOL sessions use autotune.
Autumn in Malay (Musim Luruh) Chord Part I Em, C, B, F Em, C, B, Am Chord Part II C, G, Em, A Chord Part III E, G@/m, G, F@/m ,B Chord Part IV Em, A, C Enjoy.!!!
Live autotune filters exist and are used all the time now, it's not always applied after the recording has taken place. I'm not sure which happened, here.
Lol looks like Craig doesn't like Patrick 'stealing' some of the limelight at 1:11 with his harmonies... Patrick keeps it to a minimum after this lol. (Edit: Craig is actually finding it hilarious that they are auto-tuning their vocals. Have a watch of the Winning Days performance and you'll see what I mean! ua-cam.com/video/0MItUz1tsKA/v-deo.html )
Nicholls is highly sensitive to sound and recieves it in a different way. My guess is that hearing Matthew's voice over his headphones is irritating to him. During live gigs you often see him cover his ears while singing. Rosser once mentioned that he is astonished about the way Nicholls sings the harmonies while recording in the studio, asked Nicholls how he does that, he answered that he just hears them. Maybe it's a different thing and distracting to him when someone else is singing the second voice or is singing it slightly different. He has trouble listening to different voices at the same time in bars for instance. So this might be an explanation.
@@mattiemclean9882 Thats literally not true lol, in fact, when you are this far off its what makes it sound unnatural. There are famous bands (Owl City) and the actual recording is them just speaking at no pitch and then auto tuning it to the harmony notes. The result is a very unatural sounding and robotic voice, but thats because AutoTune literally takes a soundwave and moves it to the correct pitch. If you are relatively close to the pitch, it does very minimal processing, so its less noticable. When you are far as shit off from the pitch (like he is in this performance) it sounds robotic and noticable because its adjusting significantly more and it distorts the original soundwave more drastically.
@@mattiemclean9882 I lost track of them back then, because they weren't represented in the media anymore and I never watched a life performance. Now I rediscover them and I'm surprised how many great songs Nicholls created - what a talent - and how awesome their live performances could be and how different their style compared to the studio versions of Schnapf.
@@user-bj2lu9qt3o Its great for me as I feel I am discovering a new band! I was in a band all through the 90s, recording, touring etc and after 10 years of it I was burnt out. By the time The Vines were being hyped I was like "oh woop di doo! Another bloody band!" lol
His rawness due to i don't know what he is on makes this song timeless. I have been listening to this song for years and all I remember is the lead singer
I have been coming on here a few times a week to listen over and over again. Been doing it for years. 2:44 and on is pure magic. So calming

I keep coming back to this almost 3 times a day everyday for the last two weeks!
Nicholls voice is perfect pitch. His heart writes lyrics. He sings with his unique personality. His quitar riffs scream what is in his soul.
Love y'all! One of my favorite bands for YEARS!!
Im 34 and Always a punk rocker, but this band was seriously amazing.
truly the most transcendent thing i've ever heard is Craig's voice in this performance
I love how he sings in the end and hits those high notes.
Fucking love this guy.....was in his own world and didnt give a fuck if it fucked with yours.....

Every Craig needs a Patrick for Craig to be Craig.
This song is so good
I swear i love Craig ❤ and his voice and energy
Thought these vids were gone for good. Nice to see 'em up again

First time ive seen Ryan play ´´lead´´ or as the only one with an electric guitar

Maybe at first on Amnesia's song
Amnesia performance. It's a good one.
Somehow it works for this session though, but I understand that Nicholls is annoyed by it and I would've loved to hear his natural voice.

I'm beginning to speak like I'm... (...) mad
Sucks that this is censored.
I turned it so I would not block the video
Are they still together
they had a hard career. Mostly why craig the lead singer have a mental illness, but, craig still playing with a new formation
Oh crap thanks man
3:29 LMAO
That caught me off guard XDDDDD
Craig keeps kicking the backing vocals off the mic...must be loud in his headphones
"FOOL!"
how the fuck is he hitting those notes
He's really good, but he's using auto tune as well
If you cant tell that there is auto tune on this you are a special young chap lol...
@@tremor1001 Auto tune only does so much. You have to be half decent in the first place

@@tremor1001 You don't know wtf you're talking about. Ive been a producer/engineer for 33 years so allow me to know what im talking about!
A lot of tension between them in this
.. Patrick hates him
When the song was recorded = "I am transparent"
Modern age = "I am a trans parent" :P
Post modern= "I am a tramps parent"
He reminds me of a male version of Devynils
they will have auto tuned it after they recorded it, so he wont have known.
el unico autumn shade que me gusta :v
+ᄎLIᄎFE xD
El III también está bien chido
Is he drunk?
i think their's a fuckin cheap autotune and it makes weird sounds
reminds a bit of radiohead :)
Craig nicholls is the best
I totally ignored this band at the time because the NME bigged them up so much, but I honestly think this is a masterpiece of a song and performance

Them
honestly. it'll have been done afterwards in the studio while they were mixing the levels on this live track.
Obvious his band mates were simply putting up with him.

The "auto tune" Vines
Even with auto=tune they are 1000 times better than most other bands
...
the auto tune ruins it. he would have sounded great without it
is there a fuckin autotune ? sounds weird
