  • In this video, I wanted to show you how I added PVC and hard plumbed my Intex pool. I have separate videos for all these additions, but wanted to put them all in one location. So if you look into the description section of this video, I will have links to all the different parts that I added on my Intex pool.

    I’ve had my Hayward skimmer on my pool for a year now and it is the best thing I have done to my pool. I don’t know why these intex pools don’t come with that. Those two little small holes in the side doesn’t filter anything. Thank you for that video.

    I didn’t level my ground to well and the water inlet to the pump isn’t under water. I tried to just run the line in from the top. But I’m not getting any suction to pull water out to the pump. Any ideas. Love your channel!

      Unfortunately if it were me if it’s that far off I would drain and start over. If it’s not hitting the inlets, that means you are several inches off that would not be very good for the structure of the pool either. Again, just my opinion.

    I come across your videos yesterday when I was searching for some ideas cause I’m switching to pvc cause I’m tired of the cheap hoses always leaking. I also added a skimmer like you did. So I subscribed cause you make some awesome videos. I have a question tho I put my skimmer in yesterday and my gasket sticks out just a hair around the inside like yours but it’s catches the flap door just a hair so it don’t just freely float in and out. Did you have to trim your gasket or just let it loosen up some over time ?

    • @LifeLessOrdinary
      @LifeLessOrdinary  3 місяці тому

      No mine did not rub. Do you think you would be able to trim it a little bit with a knife?

      @@LifeLessOrdinary I may try to trim the gasket a little and see if that helps. I was just worried I would go to deep and cut the grove or seam of the gasket and it up just being a two piece gasket instead of the one piece. I watched your other video earlier which do you prefer the one with more flex or your original one ? Mines a 22 foot pool so I can actually tie my pvc from suction to the actual pool leg and not have to use a post for support. The way I was doing mine was almost like yours but the only actual pool hose that will be used is where it goes from the pump to the bottom of the skimmer other than that it will be all pvc

    • @LifeLessOrdinary
      @LifeLessOrdinary  3 місяці тому

      @landonmauldin42 I actually love the way I just did it with the flex just because my kids are so wild and crazy with the pool. But honestly, either way will work just fine. It’s just personal preference. As far as the gasket goes, I think you will be fine as long as the screws are nice and snug.

    I'm getting the 18x52 with the sand filter. I think I'm just going to eliminate the two original filter inputs and add the skimmer. Does that pump have the power for the fountain?

    • @LifeLessOrdinary
      @LifeLessOrdinary  4 місяці тому +1

    @ericknava2967 Місяць тому

    Quick question. I recently switched my hoses with a similar set up that you have using pvc, but now the pump seems to be getting air somewhere and the skimmer basket is not filling up all the way. Did this happen to yours by any chance. Thanks

    • @LifeLessOrdinary
      @LifeLessOrdinary  Місяць тому

      Hmmmmm no, if nothing is leaking it doesn’t make sense that you would have air locked in there. Have you tried to bleed the air out by unscrewing the small cap on the first filter basket?

  • @JohnSmith-ve3ro
    @JohnSmith-ve3ro Рік тому +1

    Im only using 1 side of the inlet so i can get more flow through the basket. Is that ok? Do you have the video where you did the plumbing with larger inlet fittings

    My 18 x 52 Intex XTR ultra frame pool pump with sand filter is starting to make a lot of noise and leak.

But I am getting a new pool next spring and I will probably use the intex pump it comes with and keep this Vevor as a backup

  • @eamonkelly9007
    @eamonkelly9007 Рік тому

    The water in your skimmer seems high. You may want to throttle the drains to get more flow through the skimmer, which typically get about 80% of the flow. You should have at least 20 GPM per skimmer.

    We are running into some priming issues for ours. I did the same hard plumbing as you did but I have an upgraded 2hp pump and the same original filter. New sand this year and the clamp on skimmer. We will lose prime with 12 hrs. Any suggestions? Gonna try new sand again and if that doesn’t work, upgrade the filter size and skimmer to the in wall.

    Great videos! The kids and I are planning on building your fountain and intake plumbing tomorrow. I see that you require the 1 1/2 to 40 mm adapters for the fountain… however, not for the intake plumbing hose. Is it not necessary for the 1 1/2 to 40mm adapters and I could possibly use pvc for the fountain?

    Is there something wrong with the pool? Do you want a bigger one? We have a intex and my neighbor is a plumber so we fully hard plumed it with no flex since it will Crack after 2 yrs, and we had a intex 2100, it worked great, but was not strong enough to keep out pool crystal clear, so we decided to upgrade to the 3000gph, which is a lot more flow, but, why are you getting a new pool new year exactly?

      Hmmmmm no, I wouldn’t say better, but I would say so far comparable. I’m getting more flow with this, but this is also a stronger filter compared to the Intex that I had. The new one is a 16 inch my old Intex was a 14.
