Obviously Clark is the GOAT, but after watching this game I became a Flau'jae Johnson fan too. She's the most athletic player I've seen in women's college basketball. I don't get the hype around Angel Reese though. Is it mainly because of her taunts, social media posts, and knowing Shaq? I did see her get a lot of rebounds but most of them were from her own misses from inside the paint. And I don't think I've seen her jump once. Her blocks were from raising her arms and using that height advantage, and even when she ran full court for the layup at 5:35, she jumped at most 1 inch off the ground but then yelled towards the Iowa bench as if she just did a 360 dunk lol. I'll definitely watch more of Flau'jae though, her playstyle is very entertaining. Other than Clark's deep 3s, highlight of the game was Flau'jae spin drive at 9:00. That was fire.

Bruh Mulkey should have been fired after this game for the way she did Van Lith. That girl had no business playing let alone guarding Clark. She was sick as hell most of the tournament to the point of needing IV fluids before games. Pair that with making her chase Clark, someone that like Steph runs non stop from start to finish she had no shot. Then you throw in the fact that Clark is quite a bit taller and much faster than Van Lith it just makes no sense. Then you watch the game and realize that 95% of the time she was also left 1 on 1 with no help at all. At least most teams attempt to slide coverage towards Clark. Mulkey was like nah Van Lith has got her all while seeing her get smoked from the opening whistle.

that is her spot. Where she broke Plum's record in Carver Hawkeye Arena.

Things didn't work out for Hailey Van Lith at LSU.
It's a combination of things i believe. She is a natural SG , she played the 2 all her life, at LSU she was asked to play the point guard cause they didn't have one. She can't really play that role , she resulted to being super passive so that she fits in with the system but that ended up messing with her confidence and once she tried getting it going and it wasn't working it messed up with her mental more.
I blame Mulkey for not playing her at the 2 AT ALL all season despite seeing the obvious struggles she had as the 1. And now she transferring again, i think she never gelled with the coach
During this tournament she was also sick, played with an IV shot this game, Mulkey again inexplicably put her on Caitlin Clark knowing this.

Agreed. She’s really nice putting her at her unnatural position was so obvious that people who didn’t know basketball could even tell, that’s why I can’t even joke after when I found out she transferred. It’s a shame but I hope she dosent let it get to her to much and uses it as ammo.
