There was not much time to recuperate because we still had so many projects lined up. I just finished a lot of exterior painting and the heat really did me in. I am going to take at least three weeks off from any projects and give this old body a break. Summer is here!
Heather up on the scaffolding, who would think she would be anywhere else. 😀 A two part epoxy is great to seal the end grain of the wood. (total boat do some great ones) Looks like everyone had a great time. great video 2x👍 We had an event in my little town, traditional dance groups. We had Morris, clog and sword dancers put on a 3 hour show. All 3 are very, very old traditional things that I dont believe made it across the pond.
Heather has such great balance and can climb on anything. So I take it your comment about the expoxy is a vote for taking down these floor joist and doing more to treat the ends. This area was one of the trouble spots for water. Jo would go crazy it she got to attend an show like your towns. It sounds like fun!

Although those burgler bars give me panic attacks, watching A FAMILY AFFAIR and saw some modified antiqued bars that reminded me of yours. If you considered doing a beige paint with a little gold, and doing just the wood window frames green, that would look great. But I have a difficult time working for people because I need freedom, and when I see something I like, it is easier to copy ideas. That house is fantastic, though. Fancy!!
I'm not a fan of burgler bars either but we will have lots of exits. It is a very fancy house. Trying to be historically accurate to the houses history does limit some of the color choices for us.
I do exactly the same thing with hinges, and hanging doors slap em up style !!. Heather is a hero, I absolutely dislike installing doorknobs. Maybe you have a master gardener, but your trees need a rust Fungicide. I use Captain Jack's because it's organic. Just a bit of advice: let the yard go naturally, stop cutting palm fronds. It looks nice, but those palm fronds will insulate the top of your trees. Just tell your lawn crew you ran out of money. Good luck to you guys.
I am absolutely terrible at hanging doors, which is why I cheated and hung them this way. I still managed to mess it up. I really will have to get my husband to come help when we need to put real doors on these bathrooms.
