THANK YOU! I have seen so many card videos with a dies used to emboss and have loved the look. But no one shows or tells how to emboss with a die. I have an old Big Shot. I used a plate, 110 card stock, a 80 lb shim and 2nd plate. Came out perfect and also embossed the 80 lb card stock as well. Thank you again for your perfectly easy to follow video.

Really helpful. This is the only video I’ve found which addresses my problem. I’ve had the same problem with my Gemini cutting through the cardstock when dry embossing with dies, when using their embossing mat and instructions. I’ll give the cardstock shim tip a go. Thanks for the video🙂

So glad to hear that Sue! Not that you were having the same problem lol, that this was helpful! It was making me so frustrated because I knew dry embossing with dies should work but I kept getting parts cut out! Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I'm very new to die cutting but was trying to emboss with a die last night and it kept cutting the card when using the recommended sandwich. I have the Kit N Caboodle Pro Cut. I was worried what sandwich to try that wouldnt damage my plates/mats. Just tried replacing rubber mat with a piece of cardstockcand it worked perfectly! Thanks again 😊

I agree with the craft supply purchases I have issues with that lol but it still is fun once in a while to get a new make up product. D'oh! Embossing the matching die on the design is amazing! Thank you! I am now thinking of my flower stamps and dies and planning out my weekend! :D
When it comes to keeping pieces in the right order, I use Press & Seal, or purple tape (mine is actually blue painter's tape.)
Recently, I was using my new Waffle Flower Rainbow Bridge Dog die. I cut the complete rainbow from scrap pieces of the seven colors and needed to keep the pieces in order with each color. As I cut each color, I would put a piece of Press & Seal on the back side of the die cuts while still in the die. It kept each of them in order and I was able to make a rainbow on my card with all the right pieces. (Did that make sense?)
