Hi Pam. I am so pleased you have found me and that you enjoy my creativity. If you haven't already done so, you may wish to subscribe to my UA-cam channel. Have a great weekend. Lx
Liz - I just now saw this video! Loved it & wish I had seen it 3 years ago. : ) However, I still have this set & may make this card for some of my family & friends this year!
Awesome card presentation, love your personality, I think we have like minds. Really appreciate your video and it was great!! Really easy to follow and understand. THANK YOU!!
I made one of these tunnel cards several years ago & it took me forever to figure it out. We didn't have dies back then, so it was extra challenging. I like yours using the dies much better. I don't think I'd send them to everyone on my Christmas card list--ha!--but they'd be wonderful for a few special people. I'm so glad you got it all figured out for us!! Thanks for doing all the hard work. Now we can just CASE it.
I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your video, I don't use dies but use a cricut explore air, and your instructions made the transition easy. Thanks for sharing your techniques.
Such a beautiful card. What are the measurements for your A4 card? I am confused. I always thought 8 1/2 by 11 inches but I read that is not exactly true. So I don't know if your score measurements will work if I go with 8 1/2 by 11 inch measurements as a base.
Hi, I am so happy you like this card. I made it about 6 years ago and there was a reply to one of the comments then from Azwife35 with suggested measurements for 8 1/2 x 11 card. A4 card stock is a little narrower and a little longer, roughly 8 1/4 x 11 3/4. I hope you find the measurements and they work for you. Lx
Hi Liz missed this video for Christmas but would live to still have a go, could you tell me the size of the square die you use to do the appeture. Thank you
Hi, all the dimensions are on my website (link in description) and someone added the dimensions for NA card in one of the comments in this video. As I made the card, and video, over 3 years ago, that is the best I can offer I'm afraid! Hope you get sorted out. Lx
looking nice... nice craft mam... I am very happy to learn some new techniques from you.I am trying diy light paper cutting..this video may help to me fro small crafts..Thank you!
Having a tough time trying to do this, I got the base, die cut the village houses according to the measurements (inches) okay, but when trying to get them in the base, I keep messing and then realized you had turned it upside down and then I really got confused and still messed up when trying to correct and also messed up which side of the tab to put the score tape when closing up the box; had tape on wrong side lol. Tomorrow going to do a third try. Not giving up!!
Hi Susan, not sure where I came across the terms, but I thought it was a US demo. Glad you liked the final card, even if it did go off the rails a bit at one point. Lx
I love this card! I have the dies so I am going to make some of these. They are beautiful. I will probably use the Bethlehem dies and make a Bethlehem tunnel card, too. Thanks for sharing!
I have tried one of these too and it is painful! One thing that looks really nice is to glitter that front piece to look like sparkling snow ❄️ i can't wait to get that die set!
Margaret Schmidt Hi Margaret, I have to say it was a lot easier without the camera running! I have seen some amazing versions of this that others have made having watched my video including adding glitter, gold foil behind the windows, all sorts. Lx
Hi, I have taken a quick look at the original post I wrote about this card. Wow it was over 2 years ago! So long ago that I honestly don't know what the measurements were, other than the ones showing on my website! Lx
Thanks for posting, I'm quite pleased with the one I made, I didn't do Santa as embossing buddy went astray, wink of Stella and white stars from the die set finished it off
Hi Stella, wow, I made this 2 years ago!! Fortunately if you look at the comment by Mary Hale and the replies to that, you will see the US dimensions. Otherwise follow the link to my website (in the description bar below the video) to find the A4 measurements. Lx
Absolutely gorgeous Liz. Good on you for doing this tutorial, thank you so much, it was a pleasure to watch , I might try and make one myself that is if you don't mind?
Super fantastic......can't wait to try this. I am still waiting om my first order from the new Holiday catty. I am curious to know if the moon die cut that is part of the Carols of Christmas bundle will cut the moon in this set . It looks to be the same shape and size to me just by looking at the catty. Have you noticed that or tried it? TFS hugs
Debi Lowery Hi Debi, how exciting that your first order is on its way to you. I have not tried die cutting the moon from this set yet, if I find it works with the dies from Carols of Christmas I will let you know. Lx
Hi Liz, I have been looking at your video for tunnel card featuring hometown edgelits but can't find our blog instructions for it and would really like to have a go at making it. It really is a great card. I live in Australia.
Hi Joan, I am so happy you like the card and want to give it a go. The link to the blog post is in the description of the video, but in case you can't find it for some reason, it is this www.oldstablescrafts.co.uk/2017/09/my-first-tunnel-card-live-on-camera-bit.html. I hope you enjoy making it! Lx
Hi Mary, I think people have, but I don't have them. Basically you need to allow for a seam on the short edge, then fold the remainder of the card in half, decide how deep you want the 'tunnel' to be and score that measure ment from the seam allowance on one side and the middle crease on the other. So if your card were 11-1/2 inches (which I know it isn't!) allow 1/2" for the seam. fold in half at 5-1/2. if you then had a depth of 1" you would then be scoring at 1, 5-1/2. 6-1/2 and 11". The width of your card would be 4-1/2", so your white card would be 4-1/2" + a seam allowance on each side of about 1/4" (to allow for tear tape), so 5" in total. Hopefully with this and the measurements on my blog you will be able to work it out for your card stock size. Otherwise you could cut down 12 x 12 and use my measurements. Lx
To make the depth 1.5" on 11" cardstock, score @ 1/2", 4.25", 5.75" and 9.5". You can make your card up to 4.25" tall and still get it to fit inside a standard SU medium envelope. Scoring this way will give you 3.75" across the front and so you could use a square die for the window about 3" across. When folded up for mailing, it will be 5.25" which is only 1/4" narrower than a standard 5.5" card. If you can get 12 x 12 cardstock, and cut one end off so it's the same length as the card she videoed above, you can cut 3 pieces @ 4" each and have enough for 3 cards from one piece of cardstock! Also, to create the white pieces, cut them 4.5" long and score @ 3/8" from each end. That will give you a final length for inside the card of 3.75", the same as the card width.
kckid68 -Pam Minteer Holland Hi Pam. I hope you enjoyed the project. As I understand it, Landscape and Hotdog are the same thing (long and thin) , in the same way as Portrait and Burger would both mean short and fat. Lx
Love this card. Thank you for sharing. I just found you and will be doing more of your cards. Love your creativity.
Hi Pam. I am so pleased you have found me and that you enjoy my creativity. If you haven't already done so, you may wish to subscribe to my UA-cam channel. Have a great weekend. Lx

Beautiful card and the construction looks so easy 😳😲😉🤫 thanks for showing ♥️💖💜🎄
Hi, Thanks so much. Lx
I absolutely love this set, shame they dont do it again as I would of bought it. Xxxx
It was such a popular set, but they need to make room for the new. Lxx
You're very talented and I enjoy listening to you. Thank you. I don't own any of these tools but it's relaxing to watch you!
Hi, Thanks so much. Lx
I love how you work things out. It helps the rest of us. Nice card/ window box.

Hi Lucy, It is a whole lot easier to make than it looks in the video, but my brain gets fried when the camera rolls! Lx
You made it look very do-able. And, it's almost like a box but lies flat. I'd just have to watch the video several times and pause it along the way.
Thank you ! Luv these diorama scenic cards. Wish S.U. would stop retiring amazing sets.
Glad you like them! I did love this set, but I guess if people aren't buying it then it will be retired, sadly. Lx
My wife bought her die set from a Chinese company trading on Ebay.
Spectacular! I wish I had seen this before Christmas but hey, 11 months to get it right for next Christmas! Thank you :)
Hi, Thank you for your very kind comment. Lx
so glad i ordered this. this shadow box is stunning!!!!! and can fold down for mailing. Love it!!!
Hi Becki, Thank you, always love a card that means no extra postage to pay!! Lx
This is one of my favorite cards I've seen using this set. Gave me all sorts of lovely ideas, thank you!
Hi, Thanks so much. Lx

Just found your channel and love the card. I adore anything with little houses and villages!
Hi Renee, so pleased you found my little corner of UA-cam and that you enjoyed the project. Lx
I am wary of trying it "in the comfort of my own home" let alone on video, so a HUGE well done to you Liz. Thank you :o)
Hi Audrey, with the benefit of 20:20 hindsight, I should have made a few more before I hit 'record', but we got there!! Thanks Lx
Love the card and love watching! You do such wonderful cards! Thank you for sharing!
Gee Barn Hi Gee, thank you so much! I have such fun making the projects and the videos; one day I may even be a bit more organised! Lx

LOVE this!!!! Can't wait to try it, but am a bit scared!!!! You did an awesome job!
Hi Debbie, trust me it is really a lot easier than I made it look! The camera just fried my brain. Lx
I made a 'trail' one first, using some cheap black and white card and it turned out lovely.
looking nice... nice craft mam... I am very happy to learn some new techniques from you.I am trying diy light paper cutting..this video may help to me fro small crafts..Thank you!
Hi Saikumar, Thanks so much and good luck with your crafting. Lx

I live in the states...never heard of 'hot dog'. Horizontal or vertical, sometimes portrait. Good job on the card. Turned out lovely.

Hi Teresa, I hope you have fun making one of these. I had to choose between this set and the Bethlehem set, and this one won! Lx
I have tried one of these too and it is painful! One thing that looks really nice is to glitter that front piece to look like sparkling snow ❄️ i can't wait to get that die set!

Did it again today ! Still love it ... But 5 1/4" is too wide, what is the exact measurement for the white stockcards Please ?
Hi, Thanks so much, I am so pleased you are still enjoying this project. Lx
Are you in North America using Letter size card?
Liz Yuille - Old Stables Crafts no I am from France
I tried again with the measurement on the blog (for the fold 0.9 and 12cm) it is better! Thanks

Hi, Thanks so much. Lx
What kind of paper do you use?? Any paper is ok??
Hi, I used Stampin' Up! card, it is the only paper/card I use. Lx
What size square die did you use?
Ah ha, it just occurred to me that I can look it up on the Stampin' Up site - 3" x 3"
Glad you found the answer! Lx
Well done Love it . Thank you.
val peahen Thank you Val. Lx
i can't say anything
its so beautiful art project
Hi, Thanks so much. Lx
Did anyone get this figured out for American 8 1/2 x 11 card stock?
Hi Mary, I think people have, but I don't have them. Do you mean Landscape, instead of hot dog, although I can see where that could be used.
kckid68 -Pam Minteer Holland Hi Pam. I hope you enjoyed the project. As I understand it, Landscape and Hotdog are the same thing (long and thin) , in the same way as Portrait and Burger would both mean short and fat. Lx
Thanks. I just had never heard that terminology. Now I'll know what someone is talking about when I hear it again!
Super mooi project. Groetjes
