Following a video message from Kate Middleton in which the future queen revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing preventive chemotherapy, the daytime panel reflected on how they'd handled the viral debate about the royal's well-being and whereabouts prior to her update. The public was informed she would be out after Easter...But no one wanted to wait...The conspiracy theories and vile comments were out before the picture..The picture was just saying Happy Mothers Day and many took it just as that...Except those that picked apart that pic to continue the conspiracy theories and the media jumped in...but we know it was mostly the Sussex Squad...and they still are continuing...
Catherine and her family were the number 1 priority..When she was ready to release more information then it would have been done as it was...
Because Kate asked them not to release any statement about her on going cancer treatment. She had no option but to make her video appearance because of the horrible conspiracy theories. Very unfair on a woman with a family to protect.
Major abdominal surgery takes minimum of two months, the word MINIMUM - people are just nosy and disrespectful. Princess Catherine of Wales has three young children and a much loved royal. The media is solely to blame for the all the noise.

@kathywages They absolutely DO owe the public honesty and transparency. The public pays for their lifestyle. They want the public’s attention when they participate in events. They want the public to support their causes. They can’t just suddenly get upset because THEY chose to release one statement over several months about their most popular royal having a major surgery. This is not 1970. They need to get with the times. Unfortunately, or fortunately, social media is here to stay and they have to learn to get better about how they handle their PR.
How did the palace mishandle this?. The palace said last January that Kate would be out of the public eye until after Easter. Sara and Sunny didn't apologize. Alyssa and Anna did

Alyssa and Anna were the only ones to truly issue genuine apologies on jumping on the "where's Kate" bandwagon. Sarah and Sunny gave very pathetic attempts and tried to come off funny. It backfired and they just looked like idiots. Princess Catherine has so much more class and poise than all of them put together.

No doubts you handled incorrectly. Not one person needed to know what her illness was. Prince Louis just turned 6, that’s Kate’s baby. She knew when the right time to tell him was, with the rumor mill churning, yes why don’t we scare a parents children because of the mind set that you have the right to know. It was no one’s business at all. All this nonsense, just because you are in the public eye doesn’t mean you are a TELL ALL ABOUT YOURSELF. Especially because I feel they are aware that grandpa is ill, he had to disclose as Head of State. I'm sure they did not want to frighten the children. One thing I do know is that those children will grow up with a wonderful sense of empathy towards people fighting illness. I have taught children who had parents or grandparents with illness, and they were always the most empathetic children.
They told everyone that she was having surgery! What more do you people need to hear.

Shortly after the announcement King Harley’s had cancer was when Catherine learned she had cancer! She had to heal first from her abdominal surgery before she started treatment.
They have 3 small,children and needed to tell them away from general,public. The palace handled it the way they thought best for their 3 children

Apologies don't mean anything if behavior doesn't change. The women of the View have a long line of putting anyone down that they do not agree with. They are pretty despicable. Even now they are making excuses for their own bad behavior. In one short video Princess Catherine showed all of us what being a decent human being means. "Never the intention " means you do good, say good and uplift when you can. The track record for doing that on the View is horrible.
None of them said she was a nasty piece of work. That would have been an apology. The Palace said she underwent a major surgery and would be back after Easter. She stayed in the hospital for two weeks. This fact had escaped your little mind. Many people ridiculed her for staying in hospital for that long. Do you think someone who walked out of the hospital four hours after giving birth would have stayed there if it was absolutely not necessary?

This is indicative of many sections of the community who believe they are entitled to know everything about everybody. There is a lack of empathy and compassion, and people have lost the willingness to accept that there are reasons behind people's actions. I always believed that the public would be informed when the time was right, and when the W&C themselves had come to grips with what was happping. The last thing that was needed, especially with young children involved, was thoughtless and unfounded allegations. In saying that, I commend the presenters for taking some ownership of their comments but disappointed that they felt the need to implicate and blame the Palace.
The Wales family asked to be left alone.
The Palace were quite clear not once but TWICE (which in itself is unheard of) however, everybody continued to speculate. The reason was simple. The Prince and Princess of Wales wanted to wait until the children were back from school for Easter so they could tell them first so they wouldn't be frightened by the media reports. I'm British and I'm glad you are realising now how our Royals are not celebrities. They don't issue 'statements' or social media posts extolling their every opinion or feeling. They are funded publicly and have a duty to their charities and patronages first and foremost and do not need the publicity for their income. Hopefully you guys can use this as a lesson in how to handle things going forward. However, regarding the duke and duchess of Montecito, they are very much 'celebrities' and should be treated as such and you are more than welcome to them.

Sunny Hostin is the worst, in my opinion, and no one could possibly "misunderstand" what she said or where she was coming from. Her rant about the Royals having "doubles" (because she "read it") and that the person walking at the market was not Catherine was said in such a hateful way!

I literally didn't know what was happening. I knew nothing. I found out that poor Kate has cancer and then went back to see what happened prior. Social media is terrible and shameful. I'm glad I didn't get wrapped up in it. I'm in Canada and a popular morning show @BreakfastTelevision should issue an apology like these View hosts did.

Some people just prefer IGNORANCE to condone their NASTY attitude towards Princess Catherine because everyone should have known that she had surgery and needed time to heal.Those are intelligent and smart women on the view, at least that was what I thought, and so it was surprising tho hear everyone on the View, except Whoopie, acted in that way.The fact that they support Megan Markel does not mean they can't be at least civil towards the Royal family. I am very disappointed with those women and the way they treated another woman, Princess Catherine, who was obviously going through a lot.

all of us, from the factory or dock workers to the ship yard owners and politicians we would never explain nor complain about what life threw at us. NOW, how different that is. Everyday we are treated to celebrities telling us how they feel about this, that and the other, what they want from life and how they are to get it. Maybe, just maybe, in all of this there is a quiet lesson to be learned.

How did the palace handle this badly? They were very clear from the start that the princess was going in for abdominal surgery and wouldn’t be back to public duties until after easter. They didn’t owe anyone any further explanation. And as for the easter picture, it was Catherine’s decision to apologise for the misunderstanding bcoz she did the edits. Everyone knows Catherine is the photographer and as she said she indulges in some editing sometimes as all of us to do to present a perfect picture.

All you were interested in was getting publicity, your attitude to Catherine was despicable and disgusting
Why is it only a concern because she revealed she has cancer? I had 1/3 of my colon removed because I had a disease that is not spoken about in polite company, and it was hard and took 6 months of recovery. I said at the time I wished I had colon cancer, because people would support me, but I did not have cancer. I had the same surgery colon cancer patients have, though. But I mentioned it to no-one, of course I saw no-one but my family and suffered privately. It was just a disease many think is gross and don't want to hear about. That upset me the most, prior to the Princess of Wales revealing she had to undergo chemotherapy. She may or may not have had the same thing as me going into it, and we all deserve support, cancer or not. They went over my pathology with a fine toothed comb, and I was fortunate to be cancer free. But even if Catherine did not have cancer, other things are very difficult for people as well. We all must speak out about this. Just because it is not cancer does not mean it is not difficult and really disrupts your life, especially if you are a mother. I am heartbroken that her pathology tests came back showing cancer and that she will have to endure further treatment. But why was the initial information not enough for people to cut her a break and just wish her a full recovery? I thought I might have an idea of what she was going through, and that part isn't fun either. I do not know what ails her. Bless Catherine, Princess of Wales, and I wish her a full recovery and will pray for her while she undergoes this further treatment for cancer. But support anyone who is ill. None of it is fun. I know Catherine would. Such a beautiful lady.
Just to inform you, our future Queen is not Kate, even though the media call her by that name, she is actually Catherine, Princess of Wales. Well done Whoopi, thank you. Shame all the rest of the panellists didn't put their collective brains into gear before making their pronouncements eventually leading to apologies . . . but apologies that still blamed the Palace, not their own actions and thoughts.

Someone didn't get the information they WANTED, not NEEDED but wanted, and they think it's okay to demand and poke fun at a woman recovering from a major surgery. That was WRONG and it shouldn't have taken the Princess of Wales coming out and saying she has cancer to make them see that. I respect Whoppi so much that she stood up and said "This is wrong, I've had it happen to me, so stop it." she's not always right, but in this situation she was. Sunny Hostin did not apologize for what she said about Catherine. She was eager to blame Sara and Alyssa. Alyssa was the only true apology and genuinely felt bad about what she did. The other 2 tried to apologize but there were a few buts in their apology. Get rid of Sunny Hostin and perhaps the hate and racist remarks will end.
