  • This video highlights the detailed day by day process of a Certified CAT Rebuild from start to finish. The machine being rebuilt in this video is a D6R Dozer. This particular rebuild took place in Michigan CAT's Novi shop.

    I'm a heavy equipment service technician and I see a lot of machine come in and out and you say 10 years old and it already needs a rebuild, I have seem some companies where the machines are NEVER turned off, they have 2, 12 hours shifts the guy just parks and the next one jumps in, a lot of time those machines don't get the maintenance they should, so imagine 10 years of non stop abuse. I say it's pretty decent.

    how much does one of these cost? rebuilds?

      They average about 1/2 the cost of buying a new machine of the same class.

    Cool video and all, but at the same time, kinda crappy that that thing looks to be what, 10 years old, give or take, and already needs a full rebuild... vs the plethora of videos of old Cat's as far back as the 30's and 40's still going strong after decades of being rode hard and put away wet. :/

      @@patrickbolin6569 Let me guess, older equipment can be maintained easier than modern equipment or take better care due to their age?
