(Part 5 of 9) Alan Lewis, Ph.D., spoke at the Scientific Writer's Seminar, a workshop presented on September 17, 2008 at CIRM headquarters in San Francisco. At the time of this presentation Alan Lewis was president and CEO of Novocell (now ViaCyte), a La Jolla-based company that has been developing a potential therapy for diabetes. Novocell Inc. has two CIRM grants to help develop tools and to assemble a team of researchers who will accelerate the time it takes to get that potential therapy to the FDA for clinical trials.
