- A speciality of CKP cuisine, the Khajache Kanavale is the highlight of home cooked Diwali sweets. The recipe is no less than a Culinary art form. Lovingly handed over from one generation to the next, this traditional Maharashtrian recipe is special to every family.
The cardamom and nutmeg flavoured stuffing is roasted for hours with just the right balance of poppy seeds and coconut flakes. The saffron flavoured coat is pounded and layered with butter to achieve that delicate crêpe. The melt-in -the-mouth Kanavle is guaranteed to take you to food paradise.
In this recipe, I present a step by step guide how to make this delicate Diwali Speciality Karanji
Measurements:
For making the dough:
3 cup bareek Rava/Semolina
Milk + Water in equal amounts as needed (enough to make a dough).
Ghee 1 tbsp
Pinch of salt.
Kesar/ Saffron
For the stuffing/ पीठी/सारण:
2 cup Wheat flour
2 cup dessicated coconut
2 tbsp khus khus
1 tbsp ghee
Nutmeg/Jaiphal powder
Cardamon /Elaichi powder
Powdered sugar as per taste
For the cream:
2 tbsp Ghee
Cornflour
CKP kanavle chi koni barobari karuch shakat nahi. Khayala pan chavistha

शिल्पाताई तुम्ही चांगलं समजवून सिंगीतल आहे.धन्यवाद!पारंपरिक कानवल्याच्या खोबऱ्याच्या पुरणात एव्हढी कणिक घालत नाहीत.2 वाटी खोबऱ्यात जेमतेम 2 किंवा 3 tbs कणिक घालावी.आणि लाटी वाळकटीचा फेटा करून बनवतात.एकावर एक पोळ्या ठेवून नाही.
