I see a lot of Ford vs. Chevy arguments, but here's the thing. 99% off these trucks are so built up that the owner might as well rebrand it with their own name. The only fails I see that have anything to do with the original manufacturer are the GM tie rods and a 30+ year old Ford frame bending. The broken axles and smoked transmissions are all a result of pushing 3x the intended power through stock components. It's a sport, so let's enjoy it for what it is, not get caught up in brand arguments.

Question those rigs with multiple engines still seemed to pull roughly the same distance as the single engines. Is the counterweight on the trailed much heavier with the multi engine classes?
The rigs early on at 3:50 or the rigs toward the middle at 6:46? Keep one thing in mind even though they are modified multiple engines, all sled operators like to keep the action 330 or less. They do this by adding weight and how fast the box comes up. So no matter the horsepower, the battle is within individual classes versus the same amount of weight/speed of the weight box. This class is more about show and less about go. They want wheelies, but they will take both distance and wheelies. If you were to rate, staying in bounds, furthest distance, and good wheelies, what would you score each, all 1 point, 1 points for furthest distance, 1 point for best wheelies/best show, 1 point for staying in bounds? Keep in mind these bad boys hook two times a night.
Gotcha, truck is badass dude. So was that white an orange 1. That other truck that came loose an took off in a wheelie was sick too. I wish I could build a truck like that.
So the orange/white's an owner of a diesel shop. The truck is not a diesel. Just a nice square body with skulls on it. It is sick too. There are about 7 of these in various towns. Usually 2 or 3 regulars come out and 1 local guy meets up and throw down!
@WWPTV I get that these trucks are going more for show, but if they are hooking to the sled two times a night, one they aught to watch the track like the other pullers do to see where the ruts are , two they should be figuring out how to get further down the track in-bounds to make their show better. Maybe install some form of individual brake operation so they can slow one wheel down letting the other catch up to “steer” the truck during a wheelie!
Just like usual, great footage 👍🏻 I have one more question though. If a Diesel engine is rolling coal so much does it actually translate into increased power output? Or these engines are tuned like that more for fun? I gotta admit, rolling coal fascinates me but I read that increasing fuel injection to that extent results only in increased soot, not the real torque. So, power-wise, does it make sense to smoke so heavily? Or is it laggy turbo? Don't get me wrong, I love watching this; I'd show your vids over and over again to these tree huggers.
Diesel engines are known for torque. And turbo chargers are a way to give them good low end torque as well. Several of these classes run water injection and intercoolers as well. Cooler engines means more power. So that is how you optimize the power to the wheels and save the engines. A lot of pullers will never pull without water injection/intercoolers. They will even trade weight to make it fair to other pullers. The Dyno is the only way to truly know what the power to the wheels is. In pulling a lot of pullers refer to the sled as the ultimate Dyno. You know exactly how dialed you are based on how far you pull and where you finish.
I want roll cages, fire suits, the whole nine, but then this wouldn't be an Altered Farm class. It is an entry level class with a standard turbo/pump across all pullers.
@SAVAGE GCR Yeah, he must have sprained the tie rod ends on the first run because the right side wheel was pointing left as he started his second pull!!! I didn’t know that was the second pull for him until I read this comment thread. But I could tell as soon as he started to add power that one or both sides was going to brake!!!
College overrated with guaranteed debt and employment opportunities are not guaranteed. THIS IS PURE FUN and it doesn't cost as much as you might think. When a Cal Berkley professor say to their class, "Who wants to be the next Gates, Jobs, Ellison?" and then tells those 4 students who raised their hands to, "Get the hell out of my classroom!" you know it is not a requirement for success. To compete, build engines, balance vehicles, and do it week in and week out, you have to be smart, well funded, and passionate about it. In all fairness, my college cost $12,000.00 and I worked with scholars from the biggest names including Harvard, MIT, Stanford, you name it. I also worked my butt off at most holding down 4 part-time jobs to get out debt free. You can accomplish everything without anything from anybody. Do I recommend college? Yes for someone who needs a degree to perform the desired job or is unsure what they want to do or how to do it. I also recommend pulling of course.
@@WWPTV : how do you figure this doesn't cost that much? do you know what some of those engines are worth? Even if you have the knowledge and ability to build your own good parts cost money.
@@dominicoconner1973 Cost is relative to your earning potential. Of all things in life it is the one thing you can get more of. Time, not so much. All good things in life cost time, money, blood, sweat, and tears. But the enjoyment, some things you cannot put a cost on. And whatever it took out of your wallet was nothing compared to doing something and being a part of something like this or any other motorsport. I am an encyclopedia of costs of parts, pullers, chassis, haulers, dualies, trailers, engines, transfer boxes, electrical boxes, sleds, tracks, events, and venues. I work with all fronts of this sport. I tell people all the time, this sport like any other hobby, "the cost hasn't changed in 100 years, it takes everything you got."
Sometimes engines aren't 100% to start. They may have a gremlin in them that will not get out until it gets out. Bet way I can describe it. Some guys stay on the throttle longer than the vehicle wants to. Some is blower belts a $300 part that shuts the engine down immediately. Some are simply oil/fuel leaking from a fitting on inlet/connection. Some engines are just hot and with big indoor tubes, you just can see how hot its running.
The sleds? It starts out about 45,000LBs of rolling weight. Once the weight box trips a switch it raises the rear axles and then the weight is on the sled's pan, the flat section under the front of the device. I have run the numbers and they seem to be any rear from a 1.8 to a 2.1 multiplier in terms of weight due to the new coefficient of friction which means it's going to feel at 200 feet on the track and beyond like 90 to 100,000LBs of dead weight. The sled can set the speed of weight box as well as put more weight in and take weight out for lighter weight classes. Vaughn Bauer, the father of modern-day speed sleds talks about them here: ua-cam.com/video/njxZloBl4ms/v-deo.html. Each weight block weighs roughly 1800LBs that go in the weight box. You can put static weights at the front of the sled and on the sides of the sled for heavy classes like Unlimited Modifieds at 33 seconds of that video.

The whole indoor thing is stupid..!!! Some of these old chevys, fords and internationals are really nice and it’s like noooo.... Why no fire extinguishers at 13:45??
So they aren't when the Fire Company is present. They were summoned and it just took 'em a few seconds. It was an impressive run. Indoor pulling. It is good in the off season when guys/fans want to get out of the elements and watch pulling. It is freezing in Gordyville Illinois in early January. It is 70 degrees in Ocala Florida in February. It is cold in Harrisburg Pennsylvania in March. But these events help their respective leagues, pullers, and fans have something to break up the long winters without pulling. We are happy to help cover the sport wherever and whenever it takes place.
@@WWPTV what I don't get is they have extractors for the diesels, but not for the gas motors? Just cause you can't see the pollution doesn't mean it isn't there
So, a couple of points you have to remember. These vehicles are running more efficiently than anything on the road except for a Tesla. Most efficiencies come from performance on the track. These types of events don't require million dollar teams, sponsors, and partnerships to stand up. And unlike Indy or Nascar, there are numerous events all over the country. Secondly, gas and alcohol powered machines have caused air quality alarms to sound in indoor events. It is a fact. But as I have been at dozens and dozens of these indoor events, the only problem I have encountered is standing for 15 hours straight. Not breathing, or need of a painters type filtration mask. And my third point is the smell, the particles are half of the appeal. The lifted Chevy runs a grape scented fuel that smells amazing. I love it. If I had smell-a-vision, I would time videos with different smell discs so you could enjoy the same feel, smell, excitement this old dog gets every time I go out to film. I love diesel, alcohol, and racing fuel smells.
1:45 was all the fault of officials. My guess is a non-diesel class just before this one and the officials forgot to put the exhaust tube back on the sled before this class started. I'm assuming he got a second try after they got it attached.
The smoke tube? It is hooked up to 400 feet of tubing that is connected to a huge fan that sucks the air out of the arena. It is amazing to see in person!

WWPTV nice bro, your vids are dope just got yourself another subscriber lol 👍🏻🤙🏻
@WWPTV
I get that these trucks are going more for show, but if they are hooking to the sled two times a night, one they aught to watch the track like the other pullers do to see where the ruts are , two they should be figuring out how to get further down the track in-bounds to make their show better.
Maybe install some form of individual brake operation so they can slow one wheel down letting the other catch up to “steer” the truck during a wheelie!
The sparks from the second tractor is from the clutch
10:30 I believe I've seen the old allis chalmers tractor on another channel🤔
I was wrong but similar looking tractor

Loved the mods to the Hummer...
how does that 5 engine thing even work
Just like usual, great footage 👍🏻
I have one more question though.
@@WWPTV Thanks again for detailed explanation!
2:56 no helmet, no firesuit, no gloves, no harness required.
I want roll cages, fire suits, the whole nine, but then this wouldn't be an Altered Farm class. It is an entry level class with a standard turbo/pump across all pullers.
ratcamaro no helmet no gloves no firesuit no probem!
6:54 Dude , your Optima battery just went rolling.
It was front waits not a battery
That's a red top Optima LOL
@@ogmudder6839
That'd be called a suitcase weight, but no, that's definitely a battery.
Love the wheel stands on the yellow truck.
Yeah, we follow these guys exclusively. They run with us about 10-15 times a year.
Thanks one and all for posting the collection of carnage I remember all the original videos
You are welcome Scott. It is better without the music?
@@WWPTV much better!
Thanks Casey!
@@WWPTV thanks again if you can sleep watching pulling your next best thing to do
That one tractor at 6:55 with 5 supercharged v8's is insane!!!!
2:13 full pull!
if that dirt pile wasnt there that tractor and weight sled would be in the parking lot trying to get back.
You know,it’s gonna be great when there is a Chevy n the thumbnail with a title like this
I was there when the hummer power duramax broke. That was his second pull of the night. I think he broke something on the first pull.
Maybe, but broke it real good the second-go-round. His first run was like 187 or something. Yeah, a H2 Duramax, who would have thunk it?
Tie rod ends broke. Notice how the front tires torque in.
@SAVAGE GCR
Yeah, he must have sprained the tie rod ends on the first run because the right side wheel was pointing left as he started his second pull!!!
I didn’t know that was the second pull for him until I read this comment thread.
But I could tell as soon as he started to add power that one or both sides was going to brake!!!
"sorry kids, but no one in this family tree has ever gone to college. the funds always go into the trucks"
I need the truck at 3:40 I’m looking for a daily driver truck with that engine.
👌
Like why are all these engines blowing? Maybe it's all the restrictions you doing to the exhaust
@@WWPTV at the start when they all had those long pipes from the front of the truck to the back
Correct.
@@WWPTV still a good video tho
how heavy are those trailers?
@@WWPTV i didn't know they called sleds, thanks for the answer
The one called twisted was aptly named.

Anybody else video go black! Cant see nothing but can hear everything
nope
That yellow OBS is sweet!
These machines are egregious, and I need to find out where I can see them in person...
Facebook WWPTV Pulling Videos for future events. Raleigh NC this middle October at NC Fair. Ocala FL early February. Keystone Nationals in Harrisburg PA in March. I cover the East Coast pulling events.
Haha bunch of the videos were shot at the Harrisburg farm show complex from the looks... Been there many times
13:51 just in case you weren't sure Hummer was owned by GM...
Holy shit, that blue and black tractor right into the dirt stop!
Yeah, and he let out of it at about 240 and coasted.
Because the "first responders" grabbed a camera instead of a fire extinguisher. Priorities! 13:25
1:45 was all the fault of officials. My guess is a non-diesel class just before this one and the officials forgot to put the exhaust tube back on the sled before this class started. I'm assuming he got a second try after they got it attached.
Its me again thanks for taking the time for us thanks again guys
2:29 Holy shit that yellow Chevy was a BEAST
Ole boy needs a weight box yesterday
3:01, yep that dude destroying axles " one peice at a time " ...

what need to use a big silver tube on the back pull trailer for
The smoke tube? It is hooked up to 400 feet of tubing that is connected to a huge fan that sucks the air out of the arena. It is amazing to see in person!
hi W...
thank explain about smoking tube
I love how at 2:29 I was expecting it to fail but that bad chevy held together beautifully
That's because that's what it's built to do
I feel like their was alot of flatbeds being called that night. 😂
they bring thier own truck and trailers
Ive never been so satisfied by other peoples failures.
2:20 I´d rather call THAT an epic win! lol
Lol right
His livery is "over pulled" glorious
Can't the sled use it's spikes on a indoor track or not
Track had so many fails, definitely was to sticky and caused a lot of damage. He was able to get them spinning good and took it to far. Indoor tracks are a joke
@@123vaw123 just my 2 cents, it said "over ruled" not over pulled.

Yeah, one of my favorites. Supernatural right?
Something about a turbo spooling up is a awesome sound

That International tractor 11:30 is totally destroyed, look at the parts flying out of the engine!
@paatcho
You mean the bottom end motor parts being puked out the bottom of the motor?!
Yeah, that’s a sight I’m not gonna forget anytime soon!!!

14:36 He's about to tell you what a hard time he had welding the hitch...
i dont think it broke, i just think he got his rear so low it got slipped out from under, still pretty funny
Ok. The yellow Chevy at 2:29 was bad as hell!
