The journey of Aueng Kham, walked over the mountain from circus and riding elephant camp at Mae Teang to Freedom. Now she becomes part of our growing family. Her life will now be free from work and harm. Thanks to Khun Meaw Warattada Pattarodom and her friends who helped to take the saddle off from her back, and walk together to her forever home. When she was taken immediately to the water, it was as if she KNEW for sure that a new and happy future was hers. Washing away the horrors (although I doubt any of these Elephants can eradicate their suffering, both physical and mental, from their minds but the bathing, whilst appreciated after a long and tiring walk, was like an acknowledgement that she knew her suffering was over. Blessings to every person who made it possible for two Beautiful Elephants to be loved, treated kindly and respected. Angel's really do walk with us on this Earth. 🌈🧡🐘🧡🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

If these elephants are now free why do they need to be looked after? Left to recover alone gets family set ups thriving. They need other elephants not human interference. Just rescue these wonderful animals, then REALLY set them free. No fences, no interference, NO PEOPLE. No problemAmen!

elephents love going in water it must support so muchve their weight and they love to splash and squirt w/ their nozzles and she liked her medicine bath too that would be so nice I would like to hose and sweep an elephent 💕

Absolutely and I think this is true for many animals! And even if some have less mental capacities (at least from our point of view), it is important to respect them. Many animals have such important rules as well.

Debra Jarrett wow. That’s the kind of thinking that’s lead to them becoming endangered. When we fail to equate any animal to us they become things and not the living thinking souls they are. Yes they may be deeper than we are we need to see them like us so we love them.

Yes you only have to see an elephant grieve when an elephant from the herd adult or a baby dies, they visit the bones year after year, and pick them up and smell them, and they cry. It’s one of only a few things that make me cry, especially when it is a mother grieving her baby. I was supposed to be in Thailand in May this year so I could avoid the winter in southern Australia as it gets very cold where I live. I was going to stay 6 months, even though I have been there many times since my first trip 26yrs ago, love the people and the food, next time I am going to volunteer at the elephant sanctuary.

HCMC some yesrs ago I visited the Zoo there, very substandard in all respects! 2 Elephants chained by one leg, standing on concrete! A Disgusting sight, they throwing their droppings about! I hope there in a better situstion now! 😱

After the pandemic, you can volunteer at the Elephant Nature Park for 1 day or a week. I believe you pay $500 USD to stay at the park for one week. This includes room and board. You and other volunteers take care of the elephants and other rescued animals.
