No, those visions are from the past. Haru even realized this by saying "I've been here before". Plus if you collected all of Yui's notes, she says she "needs to save them" and that "Kuro died instead of Haru". This implies that Yui defeated Malice before which may have caused that wound on his left hand, and His first target was Haru. However, He was thwarted by Yui, not without sacrifice as she lost one of her dogs in the process. This string of events was what led her to return to the mountains and by doing so gave Malice the chance to exact revenge on the now vulnerable girl.
Well mostly all theories are stretching. I used like that theory. But after careful analysis the scene of future scene it didn't sit well with me. The creators would made yuri rescuing haru somewhat a different as its a such important scene. But both scenes are completely identical. From their injuries as to what side they walking and spot in the cave. Also the flaw in the past theory if the girls fought the monster before. They would be well aware of its powers and know to avoid the mountain. In addition why does haru act like they have never seen a spirit before in the beginning of the game. If they fought against Malice this would've not have made haru scared enough to hide in a bush.
Haru not knowing about spirits is the same as how Yui does not know she's already dead. Malice is the whisper of the mountain, and it taps into people's negative emotions. Haru probably got lured by Malice because she is saddened by her family moving and leaving Yui behind, and is not in total control of herself. And as for Yui not remembering, when you play during her parts, you can only see one page of her diary. This is a clever way of implying she can't remember anything after that diary entry.
I see thats too much stretching for me. The moutain spirit has limited range in its mind controlling powers or else it wouldve used it sooner to defeat the mc. So again doubt that is the reason. I originally planned to tell the the theory you stated. However as I was making the video. I had a saw so many holes through it. So I dropped it. But thanks for your opinion. Its a truly a interesting game
Agreed, one of the best games out there. And don't get me wrong, I like seeing different interpretation for the game, and yours is also interesting. Its all speculation on our parts so long as the devs don't say anything. I mean, this series changed forever how I look at a tutorial stage. I just wish they'd release a third title.
Interesting how Malice seems to draw strength from the bonds between people. Maybe that’s to show how such connections can forge enemies as well as friendships
@@OrangescoutAnime here’s my backstory for Malice(literally just thought this up.) Every spirit is born from someone or something. I believe that long ago there were two friends on that mountain. Something happened leading to a betrayal. Not only did their bond shatter but there was so much hatred left in the air that even when they died, that hatred took on a life of its own. An utter contempt and envy for the unbroken bonds shared by others. Pure Malice if you will. And meanwhile one of them would come back as Mr. Kotawari, a spirit of separation who’d work to cut as many of the red threads of fate and weaken Malice.
I tried my best there is alot to try to interpret. But this theory to is the one that makes the most sense. In terms of evidence. However the creators did leave alot out to prove any theory correct.
Just finished the game and I was devastated. Such a sad ending. But good game and i love your videos of explanations!! Enjoyed Night Alone one too. Gotta start the third game once I get all my items! Looking forward to your video on the third one if u plan on it.
Yea both games always have sad ending. And thank you I appreciate it. I'm actually almost done with the 3rd game. Currently super confused with the story. I hope things get clearer towards the end. I hope the 3rd game has a happy ending this time
My channel is mainly anime stuff now. [Still wanna do horror but its supposedly bad for the algorithm]. But imma do a game review for this game. Since I'm such a fan boy for the franchise. Thanks for idea 💡
Wait is the girl in Long night , Midnight shadows and lost in the dark ..the same girl..cause I only played long night and was the MC a ghost the whole time..?
@@OrangescoutAnime thanks for clearing this up man ..I just started this game like last week with long night and I wanted to learn more so I searched for videos like this and I was kinda like wtf..and yeah spoilers don't hurt me ..idk why but knowing what happens intensifies my interest in the game ..maybe I'm just weird.
@lovelessamphitheater4287 Of course! And this is a interesting game that has so much lore. I will making a third video explaining the last game soon. Hopefully you have been beaten the game by then!
The protagonist from Night Alone actually shows up in Midnight Shadows. If you return to the Nearby Town after beating Midnight Shadows, you can encounter the original protagonist. It's implied that the Nearby Town is where Haru is moving and that she and the original protagonist will become friends.

100% agreed I wish they left more clues. I am hoping they do a sequel

Agreed in Japanese legends bonds are very powerful. Like the red string of fate.

@@austinmorrison6953 That's some interesting lore! That would've been cool to have in the game.
explained the part 3 too gonna wait for it
Knowing what the red strings represent makes me shudder at the thought of how many people Malice has manipulated and killed up to this point
thanks for the video was wondering about some stuff from that series

I need that hovering plant.

No, they are all different protagonist. As they are all from different cities.
