FYI the vertical slice they showed way back didn't actually have all those mechanics. They just manually placed triggers, so there wasn't really these systems in place. It's easy to trigger an animation when the player presses a key in a certain area, but an entirely different beast to actually create a vaulting system. You can't hardwire the animation and where the player goes, it sort of has to be procedural or attached to nodes, since different objects have different heights. Sometimes you vault onto something, sometimes you vault over something, etc. Although I do think some of the features shown were real and came with the plugins they purchased, but I suspect they probably didn't tie into other plugins they used very easily, or had too many bugs, so they just removed them entirely. Plus some of that stuff was surely built for singleplayer experiences and you build features differently when your game has multiplayer. Everything has to communicate with the servers. Like when you pick up an item, it isn't just being put to "PlayerInventory" (variable), it has all these server checks and then it actually gets assigned to a player ID. There's a reason why you don't see many indie studios making multiplayer games. Once you add multiplayer the complexity of your game sky rockets. And that's just for basic arena shooter type stuff. When you get into MMO territory it's bananas. Any indie studio claiming to make an MMO is a huge red flag.

youre 100% right, if this was an alpha or beta 1.0 release that received weekly updates, it could be great. but calling this a full release is definitely just a huge insult to the community.
Fr. The only reason you should ever pre-order or get deluxe edition is when you want to actively support the company, especially since deluxe editions are just worthless nowadays. For example, the first game I pre-ordered since probably the last 10-15 years is Dragons Dogma 2. Because I loved and played the shit out of the 1st one and Capcom is just one of the few big companies that are still good. From all trailers, information and people who already got to play it we know it's practically exactly like DD1 but better in every aspect. There's no reason NOT to pre-order for me. But it's also probably going to be the last pre-order for the next 10 years to come. Except for when Larian drops another gem during that time. But I also didn't pre-order BG3, I was wary of the game simply because I don't like D&D and didn't know if the game would be for me. But 95% of games I just get on sale.
I never once had faith in this game ever since the first "gameplay" trailer where they said the words "survival PvP". I HATE survival PvP games so I was naturally never hyped. But I kept an eye on this one anyway just out of curiosity and the path it went down was just mind boggling.
The most unfortunate thing about this situation is that it sets a dangerous president for other scam developers to do the same thing. Hurting them financially would send a clear message to other possible bad actors and fly by night imposters to think twice before attempting the same actions.
This is the game everyone wanted so bad. Games have been just copy and paste recently. We need a change of pace like when the division first came out. But now the future of gaming is looking very dim with either unfinished products, copy and paste games, or scams
Watched the stream for a while and left a like for the algo but it was just too painfull 😅 thankfully something good came out of this mess, Tomo & Aculite F'n around for 20 minutes
According to the official Twitter, as of yesterday they are working with steam on giving refunds regardless of play time. If it goes through then I’m fine with that
I guess, I was kind of bored because I saw this movie before. I popped in and out just for updates. Not much enjoyment in it just confirmation. Didn't give a single cent.
They Just rebranded under the name - Eight Points Dec11th at 8:43pm UCT after the backlash hit trying to distance themselves. MAKE THIS KNOWN!!! Don’t let them get away from this shit!
Is there any survival games that take place in the 1970s? IDK why but I want a survival game that takes place in the past with old tech and a late 70s, early 80s vibe.
One of the many reasons why I’m excited to watch your videos is because you’re willing to play these shit games and there’s a lot of humor that comes out of it
This might be a very stupid question but i'm genuinely interested; Is there legal grounds for a lawsuit or class action lawsuit against the company/devs or is what they made vs advertised legal?
Yes, for fraud and false advertising, but you can't sue a company that no longer exists. Which is why they're 'shutting down'. Not bc the game 'failed financially', they 100% planned for this and are trying to run away with the money the game made before anyone can sue them for it
@@NandoMandoLeAndoCalando That's not how it works, at all. You can indeed sue a company that no longer exists, it'd be a crazy loophole in the system if you couldn't, don't you think? Besides that, they didn't get a single dime from game sales and they won't. Steam payments are monthly and they are processed in ~30 days, so December 2023 sales would get processed around February 2024. If anything, they scammed investors, and I'm pretty sure they will sue. Players can get a refund, so no hard feelings I guess.
@@giangallo Steam has now agreed to refund all players their money back if the players want it. And Fntatic responded to a tweet with: This was our first big experience. Shit happens. Like wtf😂
As someone who saw the adverts and now seeing the actual gameplay I'm glad didn't have my hopes up for all that time. I feel bad for those that really were looking forward to this.
Difference between a scam and delivered are the expectation of both creators and consumers. At least, you can write it off as a company expenses tomographic.
why are you a loser when not following the growd? I'd say people who do are the losers because they just let themselves be dragged along and not learn or think for themselves. And as you can see it saves you a lotta money and disappointment. You couldn't be farther from a loser in this situation.
@Au_Ra804 I think you might be over thinking this troll. But I didn't make enough money from this troll so unfortunately I will be shutting down the company. Thanks for all the love and support. 2 days ago : Thought of a joke 1 day ago : Posted joke Current day: Running away so I don't get sued.
Okay, I'll say it as well. The way the video game community hyped this up as well as always going to make it flop, or at very least, not meet expectations. Not to say it's this or that person's fault exclusively, mind you. People, creators and consumers alike, always jump on whatever bandwagon seems to be the most popular or drive the most karma/views/likes/whatever meta currency there is, and it's ridiculous. This game was never on my radar, but it was clear from day one it would never be what it tried to be.
I think Aculite was very light in his critique: this game would be horrible 5 years ago too, and would be horrible even if the marketing wasn't lying and creating hype. The Day Before is really bellow any standards, and that is saying a lot.
I am so disappointed with how everything turned out, yes there was signs of scam allegations however. As someone who has been waiting for this for over 3 years and has put 29 hours of gameplay while I could I really had hopes for this...
Did you actually enjoy it that much? It just looked so shallow all around. I can’t imagine spending one hour playing this, let alone 30. I would rather play god of war if I’m putting in time like that. Or almost anything, most everything is better in every way. To each his own.
@@georgen5882yes, I know it sounds silly but I really enjoyed the whole key rooms things and getting certain attachments you couldn’t just buy or maybe discovering a real cool idk. It got me hooked I love extraction shooters. I just bought hunt: showdown and I don’t regret it one bit
I hope someone would use this as a chance to make a proper game. The concept seems good and since all the resources out there i'd reckon it wouldn't be that hard to replicate and fix all the broken features.
Justice! Honestly wish more "hype games" would meet this faith and the people losing their money in this instance would learn a lesson, but 95% of the same people will jump right on whatever their favorite streamer plays next regardless of this wake-up call, people need to learn how to look for signs of quality in a game, not for "oh jimmy streamer plays this and he's funny so this game is great", the amount of games that get hyped up and then forgotten about 2 weeks later in the last 2-3 years is insane & this sort of thing will only happen more and more if people keep up this behavior.
All I wanted was something in the vein of The Division and DayZ. Fun atmospheric shooter that let me scavenge. Was hoping this game fould pull through butnafter learning about the original crypto ploy they had makes sense this was the best they could scrap together
@@Eggcornbeanfraud can beget imprisonment. From the article i read, the reason they failed was because they massively overestimated their capabilities. We need to name and shame the scum bags who ran this scam, maybe even get enough money and info together for a lawsuit. This is getting egregious and people like this need to be held accountable for clearly trying to rip people off.
The only video I've seen is just this downtown setting. What happened to the wetlands and the snowy mountains that was shown in the trailers? Did they not release that are of the map?
They tried to pull the release first and fix later like many early access game nowaday but look like the quality of the day before backfire them with overwhelmingly negative review, players dropped and a lot of refund. So their best option is shutdown everything and run away :))

Gaming in the 80s and 90s : buy game on release day, it works, no bugs or broken aspect as its a full, complete game. Everyone is happy. Gaming in the 2000s : everything's an unfinished beta at best, remedials go buck wild throwing money away on these turds and then cry like babies because they couldn't wait until a functioning product is released. Everyone who wasted money on this deserves whatthey paid for. You're all dumb. It's your fault, take responsibility for keeping this trend going. Learn! This has been happening for 2 decades now. Stop pouring endless money into "projects" betas and alphas. The consumer is in control. Stop buying trash. Only buy complete/finished, functioning games. The last ga,e i bought on release day is GTA 5, it was great until they ruined private lobbies and added flying cars and dumb 💩. I usually wait 6-10 months after release and do my research before purchasing anything and my game collection is fantastic, because i don't buy trash that doesn't work. 😎 also, dlc and pay to win is just a cash grab, stop buying that garbage too.
Nah, its always like this in the 80s. Remember the video game crash that happened at that time period? Thats because the video game market is oversaturated by crappy video games. Its not that the industry is getting worse. Its already like that from the beginning. I do agree though, stop buying unfinished games
There is no theft... paying for alpha is always a gamble, you are essentially paying to test a very early unfinished project. You should be assuming that there is limited functionality, missing features, broken netcode, etc with alpha access Though this developer deserves to be raked over the coals for such blatant false advertising, nothing was stolen. If someone selling snake oil approaches you, and you readily buy the oil without asking questions or asking for proof it works... that's not stealing.
If someone thought this wasn't a scam throughout this whole thing, they deserve to lose their money. You'd have to have an IQ of dirt if you thought this was real.
"Well..." "What's that key bind again?" (In unison) "ALT F 4" Pretty much the perfect review there! I'm one who wishlisted with the hope that the game would be at least reminiscent of the early trailers. I mean a division style open world zombie mmo? Com on... who wouldn't play the absolute Shit out of that? I'm glad I didn't spend my money or time on this sub par extraction shooter.
It takes a lot of work to make a mess like this, trust me. I could technically make everything in this game in Unreal myself, but even with assets it's a lot of work and time. But never overpromise, that's the takeaway.
Love your content bro;- but in this case in particular(even though ur very clearly advising people not to buy the game), I think you still missed an opportunity;- at least in my opinion, it would have been good if you would have also mentioned what ‘options’ and ‘ways to fight back’ the people who was scammed have now.. Cuz, like steam for example, they do have a refund policy, but to get ur money back u have to be quick quick quick.. Since, at the end of the day, the way I see it, the most important thing right now - what we should be focusing on- is: to compensate as many people as possible so that they can get their money back!! We really can’t allow for the ‘devs’ of this ‘game’ to just get away with such a blatant scam like this. Otherwise it’d be setting a very dangerous precedent for the future;- u know what I mean? It’s easy to now just blame the people who bought this and say: “well, if u was stupid enough and actually fell for this scam, it’s ur own fault.” (Don’t get me wrong though;- It’s not like you said this, u didn’t! But it’s just that a lot of people actually do argue that way) But honestly what kind of logic is this?? How does- ‘someone being stupid enough to believe ur lies and giving you money’ - make - ‘u ripping people off by running a scam on them’ - any less wrong??? Like, the one person simply is someone who didn’t make a smart decision;- but the other is in fact a straight up criminal! Platforms like Steam must really step up their game in this regard;- if they want their platform to remain being seen and considered as trustworthy, they must guarantee people’s safety and prevent criminals from being able to use their platform as a tool to scam others..
People have seriously got to stop pre ordering and paying for early access as a whole.. just allows companies to be greedy and profit off a half baked game before we even have it in our hands
"You don't say Pumbimg Kit, do you?" Had me cracking up. Lol! "Feels like a console game" I have never played a console game this bad. Maybe it's PS thing since they allow a lot of asset flips on their marketplace?
the thing that bugs me the most about this situation is how a lot of content creators are reporting it as a "failed" scam after Ffnatic shut down when I'm pretty sure that's just more proof that it is a scam and they are cutting with the money before they have to pay anyone back.
am i gone insane or these footsteps from dayz mod for arma 2? and + there are cycles in this game. You spawn day-night --day spawn more people(not sure) + loot respawn(absolutle fucking sure)
I feel like if the devs charged less they may not have gotten so much hate. Even with the false advertising. $40 for…. This. If it was $5-10 as is, and they increased it when actually adding to it then people may have given them a bit more leeway. But the greed was too strong.

If it goes through then I’m fine with that
Damn, the drama will be missed tho, we had a good ride right guys? Thanks for the laughs tomo
I guess, I was kind of bored because I saw this movie before. I popped in and out just for updates. Not much enjoyment in it just confirmation. Didn't give a single cent.
I'm sure we'll be talking about this disaster of a release for years to come, don't worry 😂
Haha thank God for that 😂
They Just rebranded under the name - Eight Points Dec11th at 8:43pm UCT after the backlash hit trying to distance themselves. MAKE THIS KNOWN!!! Don’t let them get away from this shit!
Is there any survival games that take place in the 1970s? IDK why but I want a survival game that takes place in the past with old tech and a late 70s, early 80s vibe.
One of the many reasons why I’m excited to watch your videos is because you’re willing to play these shit games and there’s a lot of humor that comes out of it
Haha! I got you 😂
This might be a very stupid question but i'm genuinely interested; Is there legal grounds for a lawsuit or class action lawsuit against the company/devs or is what they made vs advertised legal?
The Russian game studio wouldn’t give a shit about an overseas lawsuits.
@@MrGrazzhoppa Mytona might
Yes, for fraud and false advertising, but you can't sue a company that no longer exists.
Haha, the funny thing is that the server and the way players and zombies move is almost identical to Star Citizen!!! Has the same feel!
Asset flipping so hard that even in trailer writing all you do is change one word per line is just insane xD wtf
I guess the positive thing about this is that we’re closer than ever to having a game that’s actually shown in these trailers! 😂
I've never been so proud of being a loser and NOT following a crowd. YES, I finally win!
You and me both brother, to Valhalla!
why are you a loser when not following the growd? I'd say people who do are the losers because they just let themselves be dragged along and not learn or think for themselves.
And as you can see it saves you a lotta money and disappointment. You couldn't be farther from a loser in this situation.
@Au_Ra804 I think you might be over thinking this troll. But I didn't make enough money from this troll so unfortunately I will be shutting down the company. Thanks for all the love and support.
2 days ago : Thought of a joke
1 day ago : Posted joke
Current day: Running away so I don't get sued.
as a creator on tt im devastated this game didnt succeed it had so much potential the idea and concept behind it was amazing so sad to see it fail
re: People who defended this when it was released: Sunk Cost Fallacy/High amounts of Copium are a hell of a drug.
🎵Man, someone's going to jail!🎵
I hope there's a massive class action suit against these people.
5 years of trolling
It was such a scam the “devs” are going out of business 5 days after launch. Truly justice being served
Nope they disbanded to scam the money and have already created a new comoany to start a new game which will most likely be another money scam
@@GampyBamblorno way…. Whats it called?
14:00 🎶"two bros chillin in a hot tub"🎶
Just like the people still hyped for TES6 after everything.
All I wanted was something in the vein of The Division and DayZ. Fun atmospheric shooter that let me scavenge. Was hoping this game fould pull through butnafter learning about the original crypto ploy they had makes sense this was the best they could scrap together
nothing will ever be like Dayz until they launch a Dayz 2 with the Arma 4 engine whenever that comes out in like 5 years
i seriously think there should be a lawsuit and the people behind this scam should be in jail for it
Really jail? Just let them pay a huge amount of money...
well, its jail if they cant pay.@@whatalegenddamn
Jail a lil extreme bro. Just make the higher up’s pay some fees. Let’s not take fathers and mothers away from their children for being con artists
@@Eggcornbeanfraud can beget imprisonment. From the article i read, the reason they failed was because they massively overestimated their capabilities. Seems pretty obvious they just hyped everyone up to get investers and lenders interested and get shown a pretty picture, without any realistic plans put in place.
You think the russians who pulled off this deliberate scam will face punishment? You naive boy
This can be a problem with early access sometimes, I now avoid early access or pre-purchase games.
Boys, whoever paid for this mess, please go file a lawsuit if you didn’t get a refund, don’t allow them to walk off with millions when this is just an unreal engine asset simulation.
Yes because everyone who buys a game also has the time money and energy to sue a company sure cmon man only very few people can and will even try
Man I watched you stream some of this before I got busy with my day. I knew it was bad but not closed 4 days after launch bad. Way to axe themselves in the gaming industry from this point forward. BIG OOOF.
We need to name and shame the scum bags who ran this scam, maybe even get enough money and info together for a lawsuit. This is getting egregious and people like this need to be held accountable for clearly trying to rip people off.
Good luck with your trip to russia then
File a lawsuit for what? For you getting scammed out of your money for being an idiot and supporting this game?
@@SulphurDew did... did you think that was a clever thing to say?
There should be laws around false advertisements for games
Aculite: "This is certainly... One of the games we've played."
Absolutely lost it. Perfect delivery.
"Shoe Store" and "Soda" store got me good 🤣
Bro didn't people say this a scam from the start?
The only video I've seen is just this downtown setting. What happened to the wetlands and the snowy mountains that was shown in the trailers? Did they not release that are of the map?
I think my favorite part of the game is the fortune cookie loading screen wisdom.
"Don't mind lend a hand?" Jaysus, AI really *did* write this game...
This was a pretty obvious scam game. The sad thing is so many AAA games that end up being scams…
They tried to pull the release first and fix later like many early access game nowaday but look like the quality of the day before backfire them with overwhelmingly negative review, players dropped and a lot of refund. So their best option is shutdown everything and run away :))
Who saw it coming? Many of us that saw warning signs from the start. Why you thought this would be a game to pay for is beyond me.
12:58 Not only is the mirror reflecting someone that isn't there (a ghost? 😮), but your own reflection shows the back of your character rather than the front 😂
"What's that keybind again?" Lol that got me
@4:34
Headshot Death makes Zombie do a Backflip 🤣
The best thing this game has done is hopefully teach people to be more wary of Early Access games.
"The division's dark zone" god damn if I've ever even seen as more apt description had more Replay value with an open world main game
5:24 the trash in the distance on left side of screen is floating slightly then pops down to the ground level ahahahahaha
Once again... Always wait for the reviews before buying!
I didn't even THINK that you could have grenades. 😂
We should be able to sue the hell out of them for theft… but realistically that’s not going to happen.
So why don't you do it. Get together, speak to a legal team, and make them pay for what they've done.
There is no theft... paying for alpha is always a gamble, you are essentially paying to test a very early unfinished project. You should be assuming that there is limited functionality, missing features, broken netcode, etc with alpha access
Though this developer deserves to be raked over the coals for such blatant false advertising, nothing was stolen.
If someone selling snake oil approaches you, and you readily buy the oil without asking questions or asking for proof it works... that's not stealing.
Everyone is being given a refund, they didnt have pre orders or crowdfund. The only people who they ripped off are any investors and the employees.
@hankkingsley9183 thank you for being 1 of 3 people in the world who has the superpower known as "common sense" 👊
steam is issuing refunds.
By the way the dev studio didn’t actually shut down they simply scrubbed the internet of the name and changed there name to “Eight Points”
Anyone remember Star Forge from 10 years ago? Trailers looked sick but the game was non-functional. Feels like that
If someone thought this wasn't a scam throughout this whole thing, they deserve to lose their money. You'd have to have an IQ of dirt if you thought this was real.
"Well..."
"What's that key bind again?"
(In unison) "ALT F 4"
Pretty much the perfect review there!
"whats that keybind again? ALT+F4" thats the best keybind in the game.
But it’s just that a lot of people actually do argue that way)
But honestly what kind of logic is this??
I counted ~26 kills (zombis+players) in a 24min vid lol. Certainly one of the games of all time.
"You don't say Pumbimg Kit, do you?"
Had me cracking up.
Lol! "Feels like a console game"
I have never played a console game this bad.
And now they have rebranded their studio from Fntastic to Eight Points
Thanks for this. It was hilarious.
am i gone insane or these footsteps from dayz mod for arma 2? and + there are cycles in this game. You spawn day-night --day spawn more people(not sure) + loot respawn(absolutle fucking sure)
Class action lawsuit.
The Internet never forgets.
I feel like if the devs charged less they may not have gotten so much hate. Even with the false advertising. $40 for…. This. If it was $5-10 as is, and they increased it when actually adding to it then people may have given them a bit more leeway. But the greed was too strong.
