I’m the actor who plays Weaver and other roles in the game. I really appreciate all the Days Gone love I’ve seen recently. The game never had a fair chance and the writer/director, devs and actors really worked hard and believed in it. They canceled our sequel, but if people keep revisiting the game, you never know.
Loved the game y'all did a hell of a job could've added a bit more to it but it was a good start for a series I don't get why they approved the second then cancelled it everyone I know that's played the game enjoyed it let's hope they pull their shit together and put it back on the roster
Yeah i finished this a few days ago and have to say its a real gem. Funny enough the voice acting and facial/body language is some the best ive seen in years. Also weaver was my favourite character.
I live in Douglas county Oregon, pretty much where this game is supposedly set. It makes me think of growing up with my friends always talking about the zombie Apocalypse and what we would do to survive. Going up in the mountains and everything, it’s so accurate. They nailed the environment , the real Diamond lake is only about an hour from me!
@@NaughtyShepherd Its no where near as good as The Last Of Us, but way better than most other zombie survival games. Gameplay is strong, Story is weak with lots of holes. But I would say its worth a play even if you dont finish the story.
This game is a MASTERPIECE and I am ashamed that I have missed the chance to play it earlier. You can feel that EVERYONE that has a hand on the game, worked tirelessly. If any of them sees this, you are the best. I hope you keep doing what you did here.
The trash woke journalists at IGN and Gamespot trashed the game, so it’s sales plummeted at launch. If it wasn’t for them we’d be playing the sequel about now.
@@leorezendes8693 It fell short of being a masterpiece IMO. My only general dislike (aside from bugs) was the lack of interesting places to explore. If they made the world more like the Commonwealth from Fallout 4, it would have been so much more interesting.
Sony knows people want this game's sequel. I'd bet they are unwilling to make a shitty game, but also unwilling to boost the budget for an even bigger one
Just discovered this on my PS5 (never had a PS4, more of a PC Gamer). This is the second game I've truly played since Bloodborne on the PS5. Quit Ghosts of Tsushima after about 2 hours (missing something). Quit God of War after 30 minutes (dude is supposed to be some kind of superhuman/god and I have to hit skeletons 15 times, stupid). This game has my complete attention. Really is a masterpiece. I suspect a lot of other PC Gamers will love it too
@alecvogel3269 Tbh I hated the missions, I felt like I'm playing Far Cry games with every mission being almost the same like the other one. Especially hated needing to leave the HQ everytime only to drive back and get a mission. However as story progressed, it made up for everything I didn't like, it's a masterpiece really.
I absolutely LOVED this game when it dropped in 2019. Everything about it to me was beyond amazing! Glad to see someone else appreciating and enjoying it!
@@LovinLenin It surpassed my expectations man. Among my top 5 games IGN destroyed this game's image at release with that review and rating. I dont value IGN but a large chunk of people do who thought if they are saying the game is Trash means it is actually trasg
This is, one of thee best games I've played in years. At first play, even on easy I found it challenging at first, crept about, constantly scared of a horde, worried I'd run out of supplies, died constantly. Once completed, after a few month's I missed everything about it. I've replayed each difficulty slow & steady since then. Everything about this game is beautiful, the characters, scenery, control's, music etc. Finger's crossed a second comes one day, as that O'brien ending has left me hanging....

Man I agree. I only play in survival mode now. And that cliffhanger... dude I want a sequel so bad!
To give you an idea just how much I loved this game, as I wrapped up my SECOND pass through (having started immediately after the first one), I actually took my time driving back to Lost Lake for the final time, enjoying a profound sense of nostalgia realizing I was leaving this beautiful, immersive story world. That says a lot about any game. I still have it installed, and from time to time ride around and revisit places and people. It's a crime there was not a sequel.
I'm similar. I've played and Platinum nearly every single PS exclusive ever. I've only three times played a game through twice. Days Gone.... I played through it 3 times. The only game I've ever done that for. The hardest difficulties gave me so much joy. I still wish there was one harder lol. Love the game so much. I felt sick in the guts when they announced there would be no sequel.
This is honestly the best game I’ve ever played, it is the most underrated game to ever exist in the PlayStation store, it deserves way more respect and way more people should play it, people are missing out and it would be a huge mistake if sony doesn’t make a sequel
the story and quests could have used some improvement but it was definitely a top 10 zombie game of all time for me. the gameplay and graphics were superb
It's a great game and all. They just couldn't produce interesting enough jobs/quests I think. For example taking on a horde is a great idea. Clearing all the camps gets tiring after a couple of them and you need to do at least 50 of them. The story is meeh. So what the guy gets together with his wife who he thought was dead? It was done a million times before. Zombies should have been more versatile and should make the player challenged all the time. We see 5-6 types of zombies and most of them are creepers, newts. It's a very long and a repetitive game. There are lots of logical mistakes in the game as well. Why there are motored vehicles everywhere, the petrol working fine and we are not using cars or trucks? Wouldn't it be safer to do so? I get it, you need to upgrade your bike and spend your camp credits. But everybody in other camps also uses bikes? Ok our guy used to be in a bike gang. He is using it and Boozer used to be off them, he is using it. But why is everybody using it? Why every camp needs a mechanic only for bikes? They got all the equipment for just bikes? They go an supply runs in bikes? Why lol. I don't get it. Yeah it's a game and I shouldn't take it so seriously but our main character doesn't have any character depth at all. He is a selfish bastard who just wants to get together with his wife. And even when he gets together with his wife they got no chemistry with Sarah. She is a scientist and he is in o motor gang? What do they have in common? Their wedding didn't get any visitors. Doesn't it tell you that our guy Deacon isn't likeable in real life. He left his motor gang in the end. He used to be in the army. So what? The character didn't develop enough for me to like him. And don't get me started about those Nero missions. This motherfucking guy I did everything he asked, and he just left me on the battlefield with my wife. What was the point of these stupid missions? What did we accomplish at the end? Create drama in one camp? Kill another camp and go on. How does St Deacon sleep at night, looking back he killed his comrades because of one maniac. Imagine getting up, going to eat something, joke around, have fun with the soldiers and he killed all of them because of his own selfish reasons? He wanted to get away from Colonel, he didn't do anything drastic to deserve all the punishment. He had a camp before him. He did everything by the book. So what? He was right. He didn't deserve to die at all. I think the game was rushed at that point. They needed a bad guy. So Colonel was it.
The progression in the game is so well balanced that every upgrade you earn makes the experience better and better. What you learn on the way through the story does not make you invincible but after a while your confidence level rises steadily. Killing small hordes of zombies in the beginning of the game feels as good as the biggest hordes in the end. The atmosphere is just great. I love the Game👍
SOOO well paced, & even after completion the horde music gives me the shivers, & I'm still finding new things... the other day I found some Screamers resting in cars, singing lullaby's to each other! Super creepy!!!
It's a bit too long of a campaign for me to warrant playing through the whole game now, especially since it's been out so long but I'll post a few more videos exploring and messing around, I'm sure! 👍
@@Tomographic It might've been out for long now but there's only been one vid with you. We enjoy watching you playing. So, we'll enjoy if you play this game more too.
I love this game so much. Really wish we would get a sequel. Loved all the characters, voice acting, and story. Easily one of if not the most underrated games on playstation.
@@dukkibhoy1990 because it’s not as good as everyone hypes it up to be. people have this weird inclination to make everyone think these “underrated” games are the best ever made when it’s average at best. lol
Days Gone is a underrated gem, such a fun game, the story was surprisingly deep, Deacon was a really well defined, likable character, the gameplay, riding around on your motorcycle, the horde mechanics, one of my personal favorite open world games of the last console generation
I quitted Days Gone on PC at 3/4 of the game and do NOT recommend it. The main reason is poor 3rd-person port when it comes to controlling the character. Slow response, delayed reaction and sort of drunk momentum of your character will be very frequent cause of death. Moreover his stamina is some kind of joke. I wonder how he survived zombie apocalypse being able to run for so short time. A zombie horde reaches you so quickly that you don't even get the chance to use all of your arsenal on them. And stamina cocktails are ridiculously ineffective. Don't get me wrong. I love challanges, but this is just some weird balance, especially when he tends to stuck and not interact properly with the surroundings as it designed to be played. Result - you are surrounded and killed by zombie horde. The decent and highly responsible 3rd person game play is in Watch Dogs 1 made back in 2014(!). CONS - not very responsible 3rd person controlling as for the game where you can be surrounded and killed by zombie horde in 1 second! - avarage shooting as for the game where you can be surrounded and killed by zombie horde in 1 second!!! - a lot of grind at the beggining - quite repetitive game play - too long and sometimes too boring story - kill/fetch side quests - quite stupid AI - half-done stealth - half-done mechanics regarding attracting zombies with noise to make them deal with bandits PROPS + overall graphics and beautiful landscapes + atmosphere + music and sounds + not bad optimization
@@Ikhthus777 Maybe that's a keyboard issue? I had no problems whatsoever controlling the character with a controller, and it is very rarely that he doesn't interact with the environment appropriately. And for the grind/repetitive gameplay, i don't know what you expected in a zombie game, but it is pretty much killing stuff?
@@apizcyril9479 many games. As I said as reference for well responsive character controlling is Watch Dogs 1 which was released long before Days Gone. To be honest, it's better even than in GTA 5
i think lots of people overhyped it before the release (as i did), i kinda liked the game but it couldnt get me to play it to 100% like other games did.
This was such a joy to watch! Thank you for making it. I used to game all my life before I got sick. They don't allow a full gaming PC here in the hospital, and gaming laptops are too expensive. The only way I get a gaming experience is to watch videos of other people gaming. So I just wanted to say thank you. Take care.
I’m jealous of someone about to play this for the first time you should consider yourself lucky . An absolute masterpiece my wife played this like 6 times you never get tired of it you will earn every penny just the best .
This is literally my wife's boyfriend's favorite game! They do love playing this game, and I'm more than happy to prepare some snacks for them. Sometimes they want me to go out for a while because they tell me that I distract them, but anyways it's actually better for everyone since I love getting fresh air while my wife is having a good time!
Day's Gone was one of the rare titles where I actually wanted to finish it. It still is fun to play. I think they could have done better on the some end-game mechanics, but they still did a great job.
That's exactly how I feel about it. I've just started to play it again after having to move and packing away my PS4. I really want to finish the game because it draws you into the world. And it's fun blasting freaks.
You know why it got such a bad reception???, because the 1st day release had too many glitches. When they fixed the glitches, the game was a masterpiece.
@@victorgann4869 My experience was very different, I saw the reviews when the game was 1st released and many of the complaints were the glitches. I remember videos being shared online showing some of the worst glitches from days gone. I do agree tho, this game is a masterpiece. I rarely play a game twice unless it's very good and I've complete this game on 3 different occasions since it was released. The reception for this game was a disgrace and totally unfair
It's because the first couple hours sunk the game. My buddy played it, got through a couple hours. Didn't like it, but continued to play it. He then said "HEY DON'T STOP A COUPLE HOURS IN IT GETS AMAZING!" So glad he did because the game is easily one of the most fun games I've ever played.
I just started playing it 2 weeks ago and the hordes oh the hordes in this game are sooo sick shooting and emptying a full magazine and the wave just coming relentlessly. This game is sooooo under rated. Not only do they make you care for the characters, the music, the story and the way they help you increase your confidence to walk up to your first horde and it’s scary, satisfying, heart racing but sooo satisfying when you see a wave of them and then dropping them all. If they don’t reopen the idea of a sequel Sony is losing big on this one.
That's why I didn't like the game. So little bullets and so much more zombies. It's just a one game in the group of games with too little stuff to fight the challenges in game.
@@taucalm hordes are not made to be fought early in the game. Better weapons and learning to run turn and shoot or use the terrain around you split seconds to slow them down and be able to heal and reload. It’s a learning curve and the game rewards you as you progress when you get those mid to late game guns you will be dropping them quick but the hordes get massive
@@diegorivadeneira8129 I deleted, I dont like games where running is only option. That lacks realism, you and few people survived in game and America lacks ammo.. Not likely to happen xD
@@taucalm lacks realism? What 🤦♂️. Just admit, you sucked at the game and you couldn’t handle the difficulty of the game. So your thought it you should be able to have an abundance of guns and ammo since they are in America to take on hordes of zombies in the beginning of the game. I bet right now, in real time you don’t have enough ammo on you to take on half of the horde that the game has. So stop with all this bs your spewing.
This game is a masterpiece and I’m glad it’s getting the credit it deserves now that it’s not buggy and on pc and ps5. Also a huge Sam witwer fan and deacon is a great character it is a shame I don’t think we will ever get a sequel.
Maybe they should’ve put an ounce of effort into the dialogue and VA work. Every time a conversation starts I want to stab rusty screwdrivers into my ear canals to make it stop.
This game is quite literally the only game in my 20 years that’s made me care enough for the characters in it for me to cry not only once, but 3 times. This game is absolutely a masterpiece! (Also for the people talking shit in the comments, doesn’t matter!)
The characters and the story made me quit the game half through. The story is weak, bad written and had no depth. And the characters are all not likeable, boring and generic.
@@x6land I like generic quite a bit. It’s far better and feels more real than what we see in most entertainment these days. Generic tropes make good entertainment because they exist for a reason. The last of us 1 was very generic and good. TLOU2 tried to be way different and the story sucked IMO.
The voice acting in this game was excellent as well. What really sold it for me was the first time you take on a horde of zombies during a mission. After killing hundreds of them, in a typical game there would maybe be a rating score, S+, a side character might say "alright lets move on", etc. But in Days Gone, one of the side characters looks at you in disbelief and says something along the lines of "I can't believe I just witnessed you doing that". Totally a realistic take, too many times we play these games not thinking of the thousands of deaths we cause and what that would do to a character, this game nailed it. It was also the first game I played on the Steam Deck, ran very smoothly. After beating the game, I was upset to find out behind the scenes there was a lot of developer drama and the chances of a sequel are slim to none. Bummer.
Yeah, apparently Sony had really high sales target figures. And even though it was their best selling game ever (the developer's) and sold decently, it didn't sell well enough. Such is life.
I remember seeing the trailer for this game thinking it was going to be a half baked game trying to get off the Last of Us success but then played it and it became high on my top ten games. Great characters with amazing voice acting, writing, gameplay, graphics, and the sound design was insanely good. I really hope Bend studio get the chance to make the sequel that was cancelled. They deserve it and I really want to continue the story and support the amazing team. Heck, I would only buy a PS5 for Days Gone 2.
Really loved the game so much, didn't like the pacing in the middle but that's my only complaint, I thought the hordes were annoying how they saved them for the last 6ish hours of the game but I'm on my 3rd replay rn and you can find so many horde caves and areas to fight before hand
I bought this game on day one from seeing the hype from the trailers and I like the idea of an open world zombie game. Glad to say it didn't disappoint me.
Sam Witwer is such an amazing voice actor, and the soundtrack really pulls you in at the right times. Never played it on PS4, but once it was available on Steam, I gave it a whirl and I'm glad I did. It's not the best game, but it's still a great game, and certainly stands out above the other open world AND zombies games. The character chemistry, the naturalist scenery, and the acting really does make you want to push Deacon through the story to the end.
The anxiety this game gave was intense (no game has ever gave me anxiety) and by the end I was in tears. It’s a true masterpiece! The only song against this game is no game +. Of all games I’ve ever played this is the one I wanted most.
@@bikergirluk8059 oooh I was told there wasn’t and have not tried but been getting the urge for a replay! Edit: damn I don’t have my saved game anymore since I got rid of my ps4 and moved to ps5 🤦♂️

I really wish Sony would back games that are late bloomers, Days gone & Until Dawn deserved to be proper series yet got abandoned despite becoming huge success later on.
@@aliakseikosik200 From everything I've read (mostly coming from the developers at Bend) Sony killed any chance of a sequel bc they were pissed at Bend for taking too long to develop the game & bc the critics trashed. The fact that it sold well over time & had a huge fan base wasn't even a factor.
Congratulations on this hit. I've played this game 5 times. Each on a different difficulty each time. The harder it got, the more fun I had. Never gets old. Thanks for this gem.
Welcome to Days Gone Tom. This game man is an absolute masterpiece and had me addicted and I haven't watched a game review since. I bought it twice on PS4 and PC. The setting in Oregon is where Bend Studio is. The Devs are such a passionate bunch and are bikers. My Husband (not a gamer) watched me play and bought himself a Harley for his 60th birthday.
I just started playing and am hooked. Everything is perfect, from random nests to walking into a cave full of hordes. Best part is you slowly uncover the mystery of NERO and how it all went down. I'm surprised this game is disliked by so many people and curious to know why.
Because it starts out fine, but is extremely repetitive the further you get into it. Search for items to craft, repeat. Also the more you need/want certain items the harder they are to find the crafting materials.
@@kdcpo6105 yeah, things can be repetitive but I guess every game has those moments. The part about finding items being harder makes sense though. In a post apocalyptic world it's bound to be that way no? Makes it seem more realistic.
@@harshaareyada6641 it was also very buggy on launch and the issues weren’t cleared for nearly a year at times it became unplayable. It was a decent game, I enjoyed it until the bugs took over and the repetition got overwhelming
It’s because the story is nothing special (the flashback scene where he’s getting married and his wife is telling him he has to ride her like he rides his bike or some shit was atrocious writing) and gameplay isn’t really impressive as well imo. The bike feels terrible but I did hear it gets better after upgrading it but I honestly couldn’t stand the game and play it enough to get to that point. It just doesn’t do it for me I guess but if you like it and have fun then more power to you.
@@kdcpo6105 I guess it's better now as I didn't experience any bugs so far, just a few frame-rate drops here and there, especially when you get attacked by a bear. I'll probably find more bugs as I progress further.
I played this game during 2020 after I got laid off during the lockdown, and Days Gone and The Last of Us turned that time into some of the fondest memories I’ve ever had. Absolutely love this game, I genuinely wish more people would give it the attention it deserves.
I honestly Love Days Gone, is a genuinely awesome gaeme, the huge hoard fights are intense on the higher difficulties especially when you start running out of ammo, and keep getting cut off by the enemies, then you start getting the more "interesting variants of freakers.
I absolutely Loved this game and was amazed that it didn’t receive as much attention as I was expecting it would. I also really liked the story despite how others felt.
This was a free game on my PS5 and I played it....wayyyy more than I thought I would have. I am not a trophy monger, but I went out of my way to Platinum this game. Sure, it might have been just a little cheesy at times, but it is one of my favorite games. Loved it.
Agreed. I thought the beginning and ending of the story were a little lame but that didn’t take away from an otherwise awesome experience. Love this game.
I bought this game on launch and tried several times to get into it and never could until last month where I finally played through and got the platinum for it. It really is a great game and I wish it got a sequel
@@MrrNacho You definitely should. It starts a bit slow, I think that is why game critics slandered it so much, they never got past the beginning/tutorial. Once you do, oh boy, it's an action packed game with an amazing story and great character development. According to Steam I played it for over 90 hours until I finished it after exterminating all the hordes and getting all the upgrades (but I am a bit of a completionist). This is the kind of game that will stay with you long after you've finished playing it. Like KroganMerc, I wish it got a sequel.
Days Gone does what Last of Us 2 don’t. Likeable-and even relatable-characters, characters written well enough for you to hate (if you catch my drift “Skizzo”), and a heart pumping twist to the zombie genre. Facing massive hordes of these monstrosities is far more frightening, and engaging than what Last Of Us 2 could ever achieve. This game is easily in my top 10 from the past decade of gaming.
this is honestly my most played game! it is sooooooo beautifully made and have completed it 6 times with new game plus! keep the series coming please ❤
I LOVE how this game does such a good job of *slowly* building you up to take on the hordes. For the majority of the story the game RIGHTFULLY warns the player that Deacon is no match for a horde, to the point where avoiding them just becomes apart of the strategy. So by the time you actually have to confront them in the 2 mandatory horde missions (the other 38 hordes are optional) it is legit Anxiety inducing IMO. Only after the sawmill did I actually realize how subtle the build-up was. After that killing entire hordes just became addicting and I loved every second of it.
You explained that perfectly. It was a subtle build up. That 1st mandatory horde was nerve wrecking lol but I loved it. The sense of accomplishment when clearing the 1st horde was amazing. Man, I wish Sony geeelit the sequel.
@@mig1017 LOL, you described exactly how I felt during that 1st horde mission. But I loved the game so much at that point, there was no way on earth I was going to give up.
I remember seeing my mate take on a big freaker horde and I thought there is no way in a million years that I could ever play let alone finish this game. But you are absolutely 100% correct, the game allows you to grow your skills, and avoid the big hordes until you have enough confidence, and more importantly, all the weaponry to deal with them! And even after all that, I was still a nervous wreck when I came within range of a horde. So I just avoided all the optional horde mission until I'd completed the main story, then I went on a major freaker killing spree. I even printed off a list of all the hordes that showed their sizes and started off with all the smaller ones first. I can't remember the last time I became so invested in a video game. My mate is on his 4th play through, and I think I will reset all the missions and start again. I made so many mistakes on my first play through. 🙈
@@MrThomasCovenant that's brilliant to hear. Enjoyed reading that. I feel the same. This game got me so invested. Once you complete that 1st horde it's open season lol I want more. Gotto say the 1st mandatory horde got me physically pushing back on the chair I was sitting on till I was against the wall LOL the sheer speed the horde aggressively advances on you is nerve wrecking. The amazing musical score also ramps up the tension also. Absolute classic game. Not played anything before or after that got me this immersed. Sony really need to green light Day Gone 2. Fingers crossed
Honestly, one of the best games I have ever played the past 22 years. The first time I played it I was disappointed. I played 5 hours and I wasn´t impressed enough. I deleted it. After about a year later I gave it another chance after viewing gameplay on youtube. I tried looking past it´s flaws and I found a masterpiece. The storytelling is somewhat cliché. The gameplay is clunky at times. But the atmosphere is irreplaceable. You´re never safe. Ammo is limited. You´re not the invincible hero. You can´t trust nobody. It´s a story about a tough guy who tries his best to survive without hurting too many people in search for redemption for his sins and closure for losing his wife. This game doesn´t deserve a sequel. It OWNS it to its fanbase. It´s a crime to let so many fans down. I really hope that one day they´ll get a green light and continue on the cliffhanger that the story ended. This game deserves a 20/10.
Tom, You should make this a series! Would love to watch this weekly. My advice with this game, is do the side-quests as you progress. But take your time. Anyways Thanks for making this!
This game is by far the best game I e ever played. It isn’t like those other zombie games. You have camps that you can earn trust and credits in and the mutations are amazing. My favourite freaker mutation is the reacher. He’s so hard to kill if your trying to do it quickly lol. I’ve been scared to do the hordes but I’ve slowly been finding my own way of doing it. I like that the vehicle in this game is a bike. Bikes are very relevant and make more sense for the apocalyptic world. The fact that all the characters have back stories is amazing aswell. The games reasoning behind the no swimming thing is awesome, deacon has ptsd so he can’t swim. And his back story connects you to him and helps you understand why he is so tough, he was in the army. I love the relationships, scenarios and just overall the whole game. I pray there will be a sequel as this game wasn’t bad at all in my own opinion. A vast majority of the players enjoy this game aswell.
@@srv3259 i just spent $1,400 a new PC because my old one could barely run this game. let that sink in. was way overdue for and upgrade in any case, but would probably have held out for another year or 2.
This game looks incredible. The little movements on the main characters face when he’s seeing his bike had been parted out is not something they’re usually able to capture in games. He truly looks like his sick to his stomach seeing his bike like that.
Without any shadow of a doubt, this is the best game that I have ever played! The 500 strong zombie horde at the Old Sawmill literally scared the life out of me. And there is still loads to do after you complete the main campaign. If there was ever a video game that deserved a sequel, it's this one. Hands down, 100% percent, all day long. Days Gone 2 really needs to happen!
I thought this was literally like another throwaway zombie game. This is probably in my top 10 of my entire life and I've been playing video games for 30 years. It was rather upsetting to hear that Sony pulled the plug on a sequel. That's absolutely ridiculous because this game absolutely deserves a sequel if we put enough pressure on them they'll make it.
I love being able to play on PC and install mods to make EVERY horde 300-500. Mostly it works perfectly fine but sometimes the games engine spazzes out and spawns 200 zombies in the same spot at the same time. A lot of the locations with the smaller hordes were only meant to hold a certain number so sometimes having tons causes the horde to behave strangely too.
I had cleared out several hordes when I got near the sawmill and I actually went there ahead of the story because I wanted to see it. I thought "Oh, I'm prepared, I've got great guns and lots of explosives.... Why shouldn't I poke the horde?" I placed mines and bombs and got myself ready, I tossed a bunch of molotovs inside the building and started shooting, standing there like an idiot. Then the main body exploded from the building like a torrential flood. I ran, more bombs, more grenades, more molotov, more shooting. I ran and I emptied all my weapons and I died swinging a club. What A Rush!
Whoever did the coding for the bike deserves an award. I absolutely adore the way the bike handles. It's pure joy to ride around, especially off-road. The zombies are always fun. The ai is a bit iffy now and then, but mostly it's fun. I love how you can't just go high and turn your AR on the horde. A few of them will always find their way up to you, and jump on you when you're distracted with the killing spree. Makes it fun. I hated, hated, hated the main character, Deacon. What a whiny little bitch. Jeez, he never gives it a rest. He is pretty much a 12 year old who looks like a fully grown man. I also disliked how he is basically a slave to most of the characters. "Yeah Deke, that was great that you went off alone and killed that entire camp of renegades for me. Now here's another thing I want you to do." Oy vey! It had flaws for sure. But by God it deserves a sequel.
I have now played through this (quoting you) underrated masterpiece 4 times and I can easily do it another 4 times. Easy one of my favorite games of all time. Played it on PS4 on release and the "technical issues" was fixed with a day 1 patch and have only seen minor bugs that are just funny, nothing game breaking. As soon as it launched on PC I bought again and cant recommend it enough, it indeed is a underrated masterpiece. Its a shame we probably never will see Days Gone 2..
One of my favourite games of all time. I very rarely give games more than one playthrough but I'm not too far from starting a third playthrough as I just enjoy it so much.
Not at first. It was given a very mediocre rating when it initially released... It's taken a while to reach that rating only because of the people that persevered to the endgame where the game and story completely changes! Critics never got that far though and Days Gone greatly underperformed Sony's expectations.
@@Tomographic Well its not 2019 and its definitely not an underrated game right now (when your video got published). Even on steam it has "very positive" reviews and if it didn't have the usual PC port issues, it would probably be overwhelmingly positive.
Got a lot of rough patches but sequels are kind of perfect to fix existing issues. I can see this developing into something great. It does a lot right already but needs one more round to reach its potential.

Loved those The Last of Us vibes, the story was quite enjoyable and it's just so much fun to play. Criminally underrated and Sony should allow them to make a sequel. My GOTY 2019, hands down.
This is one of my favorite games of all time. I loved the story every step of the way. I was hooked. It is set up for a damn sequel, so I hope we see it!!
I absolutely loved this game. Definitely on par with rdr2. I usually get bored with long open world games but with this I actually wanted more when I finished it. Hoping for a part 2 !
I just finished the game, putting in 60 hours. While not a masterpiece, Days Gone is still a very good game. It had the potential to be great with a little more development time. The foraging aspect was a bit shallow, all the rescued hostages shared the same face, and there were a few bugs that took you out of the experience. Despite the issues, I really liked the overall atmosphere. The story was solid, and taking on the hordes kept you on your toes. Overall, I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10, and believe that if given a second chance, Bend Studios would have knocked a sequel out of the park.
Yall keept shilling mid games like horizon forbidden west zero down was much better nobody talks about how forbidden west is mid af and boring but yall kept trashing days gone for no reason

Easily in my top 10. I loved everything about this game from the ambience, the environment, the characters, the story and the music.. The first horde experience was truly terrifying.
Would have been amazing to play this with a friend in coop. Everything about this game's engine, art, design, characters and of course the zombies were so perfect.
It's fun how accurate the area is - I grew up a few minutes from any number of places in the PNW that looked exactly like all this; Stevens or Blewett pass; North Bend, Duvall.
For me thats been the issue. I have started it several times but never made it more than a couple of hours. For me its one of those games where i need to invest a solid chunk of time and I know I will then be hooked, its just that initial investment. Witcher 3 was like that for me. Started it so many times. Once I finally sat down and played a solid 3 hours straight before stopping I was hooked. Its that initial slow start that if I dont get past will mess me up lol
Of course, would love to see more of Days Gone. I get a kick outta watching your clips. You respond to situations the same as I would & its funny. Plus you help me on decisions about if it's a game I would like. I ended up buying Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 1 & 2 only after watching your vids on them. So, Thanks Tomo! Keep up the great vids.
Just finished this absolute belter of a game. It was like a mix of Sons of Anarchy and 28 days/weeks later and I absolutely loved it. Shame on the likes of IGN for review bombing this game, just cause it dared to do things differently, not push any agenda on anyone and do its own thing. It was very refreshing and a damn fine game.
The game is terrific. i didn't know it wasn't received well. I played it for free as a playstation plus free game and I was hooked from my first playthrough until I beat the game. It was great fun. Most of those free games I end up uninstalling after playing for 15 min, but not Days Gone. Was actually thinking about picking it up again and replaying the whole thing. It would easily have been worth the original price.
Days Gone was so buggy at launch but the devs really put a lot of work in to fix it pretty quickly, which was good on them. Really turned out to be a great game.
I played it from the release and I think they really did a good job in fixing the bugs. But compared to other games it never was in an unplayable condition like Cyberpunk
This is the most underrated game I ever played. It is THAT good, although it starts a bit slow... but after a while... oh boy! If you never played it, go get it NOW. And run, don't walk. I still can't believe how much Sony (and the self-anointed game critics) dropped the ball on this one.
Riding the bike while sunset passing some zombies plus the great soundtrack is one of my most satisfying game moments ever. I started playing that game a few days ago. Its a great experience.
It really is! I recently played through for the first time on a whim as a free PS Plus game to pass the time, not expecting much... And I was blown away! One of my favorite games I've played in a while. Really wish/hope they'd make a sequel. So underrated.
I've never had withdrawal from a game the way I did when I finished Days Gone. One of the best games ever made! I actually miss it, I really hope we see the next chapter with these characters 🙏
After spending most of my childhood playing video games, I actually took a long hiatus from gaming starting in the ps3 era. I found games were starting to feel a little repetitive and other things in life demanded more time. In 2020 I watched a friend of mine playing this game when I stopped by for a visit. A month or so later I suffered a knee injury and needed to have surgery which sidelined me from work and play for a whole year. I decided to buy a PS4 and Days Gone as I had a lot of down time immediately after the surgery. This game single handedly got me back into gaming and to be perfectly honest I haven’t quite found a game as good since. The devs did a fantastic job. The pacific northwest setting was done very well (coming from a born and raised pnw native). The plot and the acting were superb. It utilized game mechanics like crafting and open world job systems, which in other games can feel redundant, and actually integrated them into the gameplay in a way few games seem to. I found myself scouring through abandoned buildings scavenging for kerosene or a roll of toilet paper while freakers lurked around outside not because the game was telling me to but because i knew i needed them to survive the rest of the day. Just a totally immersive experience There needs to be more games like this
I absolutely love days gone. I'm on my third playthrough right now. A few things make me sad though. Due to studio conflicts the direction of the game changed fairly late and it's development. It was supposed to be a much more hardcore survival game with much more survival elements. It was supposed to be hunger and thirst and a lot heavier emphasis on looting and crafting. The world was also supposed to be double the size and apparently it was all basically done but management decided at the last moment they didn't like that anymore. Wow that is disappointing I do love the game we got it's just sucks to know that we were supposed to get a lot more and we didn't. Now this all could have been fine had they not can the sequel even though sales were actually pretty darn good for this game. Very disappointed that they're not going to be making a second one.
the graphics, the story, the bikes... everything in this game is perfect! and its got subtle elements from all the top zombie survival games. I'm on like my 6th playthrough lol
I bought this game right when it released and Loved it. Never understood why the game got hazed. "Professional" Critics didn't seem to think much of the game and players absolutely loved it. It was at about this time where I started trusting fan feedback over paid critics.
in my opinion, it's almost best zombie game i've played. It's like a movie more than a game. Every character is bulit so well and have different strong personlity. Its plot actually made me sink in. lol All in All i love it
Just got the game, after a few missions I really like it, I was looking for a great survival game to get and this one had some pretty impressive reviews, and it did not disappoint.
You and everyone at the studio did a lovely job. Send love from the community!

THEY CANCELLED A SEQUEL!? I am so angered by that. Dude, you played Weaver perfectly.

Most likely marketing. Everything is bought and sold
@1313rasheed. You say its a great game. Then proceed to write a manuscript tearing it apart. Why dont you make a better game!?
Because “reviewers” bombed because you’re a “white” biker. It can out a years or so later that they did not even play it. F’kn racism 🤦♂️
Really this game is awesome. So good I played like 10 times.

CONS
- not very responsible 3rd person controlling as for the game where you can be surrounded and killed by zombie horde in 1 second!
- avarage shooting as for the game where you can be surrounded and killed by zombie horde in 1 second!!!
- a lot of grind at the beggining
- quite repetitive game play
- too long and sometimes too boring story
- kill/fetch side quests
- quite stupid AI
- half-done stealth
- half-done mechanics regarding attracting zombies with noise to make them deal with bandits
PROPS
+ overall graphics and beautiful landscapes
+ atmosphere
+ music and sounds
+ not bad optimization
@@Ikhthus777 Maybe that's a keyboard issue? I had no problems whatsoever controlling the character with a controller, and it is very rarely that he doesn't interact with the environment appropriately.

What about the last of us?
When Boozer and Deke have to put that dog down, maybe worse then when Sephiroth kills Aeris.
The characters and the story made me quit the game half through. The story is weak, bad written and had no depth. And the characters are all not likeable, boring and generic.
@@wanderer6664 The last of us was a good game, but in my opinion all the characters except joel and ellie are too forgettable and bland.
Bummer.
It really was well done can't wait for the sequal
Yeah, apparently Sony had really high sales target figures. And even though it was their best selling game ever (the developer's) and sold decently, it didn't sell well enough. Such is life.
One of the first games I played on my PS5. What an amazing experience this game was!
Heck, I would only buy a PS5 for Days Gone 2.
exactly what I thought, but this game is amazing, had me emotionally attached. I hope they drop a sequel 😭😭😭
Glad to say it didn't disappoint me.
i bought a ps5 for spiderman 2. totally unrelated i know
Same, I would only buy a PS console for Days Gone 2 !!!
The character chemistry, the naturalist scenery, and the acting really does make you want to push Deacon through the story to the end.
he is great. When I was playing the other day I thought he sounded a little like Antony Starr 'Homelander' from The Boys lol.
Jesus Christ died for your sins please repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand:&&(;;$!?)
The anxiety this game gave was intense (no game has ever gave me anxiety) and by the end I was in tears. It’s a true masterpiece! The only song against this game is no game +. Of all games I’ve ever played this is the one I wanted most.
There is a ‘new game +’ if that’s what you meant. Just as good second (and third) time 😁
@@bikergirluk8059 oooh I was told there wasn’t and have not tried but been getting the urge for a replay!
Edit: damn I don’t have my saved game anymore since I got rid of my ps4 and moved to ps5 🤦♂️
I love this game so much and I love how much attention it’s been getting recently. Gives me hope for a sequel
Jesus Christ died for your sins please repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand:&&(;;$!?)
I played it this year. It should have a sequel.
Absolute shame they are not doing a sequel for this masterpiece. I mean even add on missions would be great.
Hands down one of the best games ever made.. Period.. How on earth did Sony refuse to make a sequel is beyond my understanding..
Because its not
Absolutely agree! The game was phenomenal, and the challenges were crazy good, too! Going up against six or seven hordes at once was fun as Hell.
It is a very under-appreciated gem. I absolutely loved it and was gutted when i read that Sony does not plan to make a sequel because they were not happy with the sales figures.
I really wish Sony would back games that are late bloomers, Days gone & Until Dawn deserved to be proper series yet got abandoned despite becoming huge success later on.
Which is still ridiculous since last i looked it sold at least 9 million copies on PS alone?
@@aliakseikosik200 From everything I've read (mostly coming from the developers at Bend) Sony killed any chance of a sequel bc they were pissed at Bend for taking too long to develop the game & bc the critics trashed. The fact that it sold well over time & had a huge fan base wasn't even a factor.
@@TSerr97 that makes me sad :(
@@TSerr97 Agreed. The same studio that made Until Dawn did The Quarry. Similar type of game to Until Dawn as well.
Played as soon as it came out and it’s one of my favorite games
Same. Really good story
Im the same i played it for about 2hrs n just wasnt feeling it, so now im like should i get back into it? Should i not?...
@@MrrNacho I feel like if you're like me and really dive into it, you'll end up enjoy it. It's got a good story and fun gameplay
Ng+ and the rifle from syphon filter.... so fun
I'm on my 2nd playthrough on NG+ at the moment, such a great game!
Facts, I feel like the perfect pace of the game is what keeps pulling you back in!
I dont understand what flaws you're talking about :')
This is just a perfect zombie apocalypse game
Would love to see some more, some side missions would be really cool.
Tom, You should make this a series! Would love to watch this weekly. My advice with this game, is do the side-quests as you progress. But take your time. Anyways Thanks for making this!
One of my biggest surprises in the last 15 game years. Wasn't expecting anything when it came free on PS+.
Now it's one of my fav games.
From what you just described me it looks incredible I guess I’m buying it hope it’s worth it :)
@@srv3259 i just spent $1,400 a new PC because my old one could barely run this game. let that sink in. was way overdue for and upgrade in any case, but would probably have held out for another year or 2.
Yes someone agrees with me, best characters, best dialogues, emotional story, thrilling gameplay what else do we need, masterpiece indeed
@@nerdoutreachprogram5358 I don't think my shattered nerves could take every horde being 300 or more strong!!! 😆
But by God it deserves a sequel.
you are right , many a OW game doesn't get vehicle handling right at all, it's either stiff, not fun but the Bike in DG was a blast.
8.8 user score on metacritic... Wow SO UNDERATED!
Even on steam it has "very positive" reviews and if it didn't have the usual PC port issues, it would probably be overwhelmingly positive.
i named my firstborn deacon
They should definitely do a sequel! I think it’s a great game, one of the best in last 5 years
Got a lot of rough patches but sequels are kind of perfect to fix existing issues. I can see this developing into something great. It does a lot right already but needs one more round to reach its potential.
Played it on pc and was expecting it to be meh. Absolutely loved it

Great game, one of my favorites. Absolutely gorgeous graphics, mechanics, writing, acting. The developers should be proud.
I remember when Tom used to get 10k views on his videos. Absolutely happy for him. He's been putting out quality for a LONG time.
Still playing it on PS4, truly a masterpiece indeed. A perfect balance between story and open world, really believable characters, gorgeous graphics.
I absolutely loved this game. Definitely on par with rdr2.
I usually get bored with long open world games but with this I actually wanted more when I finished it. Hoping for a part 2 !
Blasphemy
I agree. Top 5 game.

It's awesome! Took a lot of convincing to get my friends to play it but once they put in around 4 hours they were completly hooked. What a great game!

Genuinely one of my favourite games I’ve ever played. Great game 🙌
Defo Need a series on this game - just a necessity!!
FUCK da critics man
Riding the bike while sunset passing some zombies plus the great soundtrack is one of my most satisfying game moments ever.
Same here I was like I'm on PS5 what a stupid PS4 zombie game... The game continues to blow me away I'm absolutely hooked.
Loved this game. Played it twice. Really wish they wouldve went through with a sequel.
I've never had withdrawal from a game the way I did when I finished Days Gone. One of the best games ever made! I actually miss it, I really hope we see the next chapter with these characters 🙏
Right? The problem with a game like this, is every other game becomes unenjoyable
this game has always interested me because how good the bike riding looks, especially for the off road parts
Just a totally immersive experience
There needs to be more games like this
I absolutely love days gone.
On my second play through. This time I look for hords
It’s still a sin that that happened. I’m still a firm believer that it was sabotaged to some extent.
I'm considering playing through again, any advantages to replaying or is it pretty much identical?
Would of made it the perfect zombie game for me
Bruh.
Hope they saved some of that work, they could make it a sequel.
Definitely a great game that surprised me in a very positive way. Still hoping for a sequel/prequel although they said it wouldn't get one.
I'm 67 and bought this game a few months ago. I'm a biker, too. So I really relate to it. Tons of fun.
Best game I’ve played in a long time. Really well put together story. Well done to the creators and thank you 🙏
the graphics, the story, the bikes... everything in this game is perfect! and its got subtle elements from all the top zombie survival games.
