It’s sheer evil what’s been done to vulnerable individuals in the name of psychosocial rehabilitation. Keep up the great work in exposing this evil Jim and Sami🙏🏾👌🙏🏾
Feels like it's all narcissistic enabling. Someone's gaslit into depression or abandoned into borderline or otherwise traumatized into mental health issues, and then psychiatrists tell them it's they're own fault for having "bad brain chemistry." The psychiatrist feeds the abused toxic, addictive placebos that were "proven effective" through cherry picking. All because it's more profitable than ensuring they have a supportive community, and helps secure the narcissists' access to supply.
One of the most important podcasts ever. Two of my favorite human rights advocates present a most professional and gripping report about out-of-control psychiatry and drugs impacting humanity in ways - yes - too evil to be believable. Thank you.
Until the 1950s, Psychiatrist Harry Stack Sullivan would sit down with a demoralized patient - find out 2 or 3 of his biggest problems and work out remedies. Today's Standard of Care professionals give out disease-like labels, then neurotoxic drugs or ECT - to secure sad people as cash cows!
Gratitude for Mr. Gottstein's work exposing the medication and psychitric injustices, nonsensical, lack of ethics, etc. and advocacy. Dr. Peter Breggin, MD & Psychiatrist, known to be the Conscience of Psychiatry is Harvard educated and trained as well. He has a heart and mind to SEE the Phony Balogny too.

Grateful to Dr Breggin as when my partner had an adverse reaction to prescribed meds I knew what his problem was; had i not read Breggins Driving Soldiers Crazy with Psych Meds I would not known what was happening to my friend.
Zyprexa was 1 of the last psych meds I was on (along w/Depakote) b4 tapering off of it & completing the process on 1/1/2017 (been psych med-free since then). There's been challenges & struggles along the way but @ least I'm much more in tune w/my emotions (psych meds robbed me of that ability).

John Horgan wrote an excellent critique of psychiatry and psychology in his book, “The Undiscovered Mind”. If you like this podcast then you’ll probably love that book. I sure do!
i;ve just discovered your podcast and am wishing I had done so ten years ago. I was lucky to have a fairly decent support system when I decided to titrate off psychotropics. I'm lucky to still have grey matter after overdosing with Zyprexa. I had reported severe impulse control issues to my therapist and PCP, but they had no clue.
At about 9:12, Gottstein seems to describe the practice of designing drug trials to exaggerate benefits and hiding negative results as a standard drug-company technique. Start around 8:45 for context.
Pharma have a track record of hiding negative data, altering data etc, all they care about is profit, They just get a fine if caught then it is back to business, these drug companies all have long rap sheets, defective drugs, human experiments etc going back years
The drug industry keeps expanding, while governments do nothing to limit the diagnostic claims, forced treatment and don't help people that are crippled and waiting to die. People have lots of fun damaging and harassing drugged people as public property. Hopefully they get to pay for that.
I have called Jim my hero. I do not have Diabetis. Thanks to him. By definition he is a hero. Also thank you to psychology is and everyone who works to get the truth out about the fraud of the psychiarty. As a teenager diagnosed with "Bipolar" and put on meds (Prozac) that made me suicidal, I can't believe I came out of psychiarty alive. I have a friend who did not. But of course that was his fault too for killing himself. So THANK YOU to Jim and everyone. Psychiatry was a living hell for me.
This has been a very painful episode for me. The description of the debilitating forced hospitalizations and medications is unfortunately very accurate. You are presumed " guilty " and everything is used against you to enforce the medications and stigmata of how they "classify" you as disordered. These were the worst traumas I'd ever endured and set my health back enormously

It is very disappointing and heartbreaking that the judicial system also fails to protect the victims of these psychiatric atrocities. Is that the case in UK too, do you know any good lawyers dealing with such cases (incarceration/drugging against sb's will)? As far as I know, doctors have the obligation to discontinue the drugs at first signs of tardive dyskinesia...
Judges also rubberstamp what Mental Health professionals are effectively doing to people. The Mental Health Committees of Legislatures must issue new Treatments for sad people - like the aesthetic Talent Training offered by Howard Glasser and Madan Katara! / Doctors just give out another drug for Tardive Dyskinesia, which they caused all along - iatrogenic!
@Peter-3282 Judges accept the same disease-like Freudian labels that Psychiatrists had projected over from the diseases that M.D. doctors deal with. They have little comprehension that mental health is the practice of agapeic love - which can easily be encouraged. Then no drugs or side effects!
@Peter-3282 You're welcome Peter! Courts {and often legislators} support the status quo, like they're sheep - instead of being leaders. A complete change must be Instituted in what Mental Health is effectively doing to people!
Regarding Zyprexa causing diabetes: I'm nearly positive psych meds caused my diabetes. I'm looking mostly at you, Seroquel. Any info on other psych meds causing diabetes? I gained well over a hundred pounds. Since coming off many of my psych meds, the weight has slowly dropped off, but I'm not back to my original weight, nor do I expect I will ever get there. It's taken over a decade to lose roughly 100 pounds...and because no one helped me come off the psych meds, it was extremely dangerous and caused severe issues. So, just know this: It's super dangerous to come off these things.
Dear Nick could you please go into the side effects in one of your future episodes? Tardive dyskinesis, catalepsy, akathesia, dysphoria, addiction and so on....It is abomination how those are dismissed by GPs and psychiatrist when reported by patients, they refuse to acknowledge those pills make cripples out of beautiful young people. Patients do not understand this fancy terminology and often 'masking' (dr Peter Breggin) occurs so the debilitating effects of those toxins increase before patients recognise them. There is no proper monitoring at all for side effects and general denial of their monstrous reality,. Doctors and by-standers often blame it all on ' underlying condition'.
Masking, using fancy terminology and blaming failure on an underlying condition of the patient - are forms of plausible deniability & Malpractice, which need to be prosecuted by Robert Whitaker, Dr. Josef, Peter Gotzsche and the CCHR!
You trip so hard you don't even know that you took Zyprexa. You forget because your memories are imaginary. You could have conversations with friends that you knew from high school and you can sit there for two hours having a conversation with this good friend of yours from high school, only to realize two hours later that you never even knew this person and that this person never even was in your room. You were just talking to the wall but you were hallucinating an entire human being with whom you had an intelligent conversation.

That's different for every person, some can, some can't. I couldn't sleep for a week after 2 weeks on zyprexa after I coldturkeyed it and I developed a nasty dystonia which lasted for months, actually nearly a year. Better, taper it off slowly to avoid brain damage. (But I guess I was on the sensitive side, anyway.) It healed by the way, but it took some time. Unimaginable what damage those drugs can do in the shortest amount of time.
How do you know that death isn't the greatest thing that's ever gonna happen to you. When you actually die you dissolve into an ocean of infinite love. Death is equivalent to infinite love. So the biggest mindfuck of life is to discover that death is actually infinite love.
