I think that people that don't want to run away from chaos should be engulfed in it. If you lack that much common sense, you weren't supposed to live in the first place
These types of catastrophic accidents normally have a number of errors compounded. Driver took alternative route (unknown reason), bridge doesn’t have height restriction chain boards setup before the underpass, truck gets stuck, driver calls in for help, fire fighters arrive and instead of securing the area first, knowing it is gas, they attend to the fire and truck. Police station just down the road is under staffed, because of the general state of affairs in South Africa and don’t send out any officers to assist in securing a safe parameter. Christmas holidays have more then usual amount of people at home in the suburb and on the streets in general, combined with people ignoring others telling them to get back, with the desire to capture everything on their phones to share on social media. There was enough time for everyone to clear the area. As soon as a leak was detected everyone was supposed to have been warned to get away and stay clear. Once the fire broke out, people should have been at a safe distance already, but if they weren't, they were supposed ensure there was safe distance (gas tanker plus fire = obvious disaster to strike!)

How does a truck headed for Botswana end up stuck under a bridge in Boksburg? Clearly there was gross negligence on the part of the driver. He should not have taken that route. The company will have to take full responsibility for what happened. Innovative Staffing Solutions is located in Boksburg. The public have no hazmat training, there were no legible signs that told the driver he cannot go underneath the bridge, the blame falls squarely on the authorities, there was some driver neglect and he is responsible for the accident, but he is not responsible for the deaths of all those people, the bad signage and lack of adherence to hazmat protocols by the fireman and absent police are the cause of death and injuries. As for you news reporter you seem that you just want to blame one party here driver and company do you not do any research on what you talking about. When will you question the fire department for failure of protocols this was very unprofessional interview seems you bunch have a collective knowledge of 10 year Olds
At fault - municipality for not having clear signage and bridge thingies that you hit when too low? Not sure what they are called. Driver at fault for not thinking - what ever the reason, and for not immediately securing area and getting people to be aware of danger (whether they leave then is their fault - maybe he did say get away) also at fault - police, emergency control. Company at fault for not ensuring drivers are aware what to do when they hit such problem and on and on. Greed probably at the route
What if load-shedding caused a traffic jam, causing the Truck's GPS to re-route. And then the driver found himself in total unfamiliar territory. Then the first cause was Eskom.
One should note that many of the bridge restriction signs have been removed or fallen apart in the last 28 years . The other thing is , if this is sat nav related , many low bridge accidents are caused worldwide because of the lack of perameters needed for this communication system we rely on , they dont take into account low bridges , large or heavy vehicle usage ect , sat nav works on the ideal that everyone drives a small hatchback and any road is paved if not updated to a unpaved road , in America , semi articulated trucks are directed down farm paths because sat nav calls it a major road , sat nav peramiters need to be drastically upgraded worldwide , let the world wake up and fix this glitch . Remember , sat nav was an evolution of what became air to land radar during world war 2 , the early system could pick up individual buildings with relative accuracy , the tech is there but its easy to be lazy with nav , cut out what you dont think is important and to hell with everyone else , sat nav needs to be redeveloped without corner cutting .
GPS and SatNav usually have different modes, like hiking, cycling, truck and bus, which actually takes account of route limitations like bridges or narrow roads!
Low tech solution. All low bridges should have a "clatter-board" hanging at safe bridge clearance height 10m before the bridge to wake up the driver. Hit the board, you will hit the bridge. In this case, the board should be at the last place the driver can escape if he is too high. We have this in Muizenberg. I wonder if they let the air out of the tyres to help get the truck unstuck?
Wearing the cheap polyester clothing which is light, convenient & ironing free, factory manufactured artificial fibres is extremely dangerous in situations like this plus in house or shack fires as the fibre melts into the skins of the victims & continues to melt or burn, leading to serious injuries. Natural fibre materials such as cotton, flax, wool, animal leather & bone or wood are far safer and do not release potentially dangerous/poisonous/ toxic vapours into the air.
Have you seen the state of the roads and what signs not even the robots work properly , government and the municipality must take responsibility as well

I quote the materials safety datasheet of this gas for firefighting info - "Promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident if
there is a fire. No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable
training. Contact supplier immediately for specialist advice. Move containers from fire
area if this can be done without risk. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers
cool. If involved in fire, shut off flow immediately if it can be done without risk. If this is
impossible, withdraw from area and allow fire to burn. Fight fire from protected location
or maximum possible distance. Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so.
investigator doesnt know jack so what is he investigating?
People should have been evacuated the minute that fire started. Gas will explode. Condolences to all that lost loved ones
social media... everybody wants that ultimate photo.. many people die each year running towards an accident scene instead of away from it
Jy kan mos sien daai trok gaan nie onder deur gaan man
Fire fighters were on the ground. The driver did the best he could...just some incidents are beyond his control.... waiting to hear from his side n after the investigations...prayers to the families involved...you can't imagine, you woke up to go for work, school n other programs of the day ..and you end up blowing up.Jesus help us
Labour Brokers 🙄🙄🙄🙉
They must just shut the company down simple
A witness said that it was a young boy driving yet the company is saying he has 7 years experience! Then how come he drove into the bridge?
The minimum age to haul flammables in the UK is 25 years old.
Doesn't make sense!
What age do you think the boy was?
That's still a boy in South Africa. You become a man at 31
so if he was inexperienced, why did the company feel he is good enough to drive that vehicle. that is unacceptable as you ahve taken innocent lives
No it is stated that driver has 7 years if experience
Even listening is an issue, where did he say he was inexperienced?
Or is it the English troubling you?
It's okay sometimes not to leave a comment. Some comments will leave you with a dropped jaw
BS I tell you
As much as everyone wants to blame the company and driver. Truth be told no sign had been in place that road was not limited to light moto vehicles but trucks also. It's also very evident that the fire department had completely failed at any safty protocols limited rage to fight a lp fire is 500 meters safe zone for public is 1 km it was clear that the fire department did not know that very unprofessional they also dump water all over the place that had probably caused the blast.
South Africa should redo ALL low bridges as this is NOT the first time a truck got stuck under LOW bridges. We must replace ALL low bridges
Human eyes trump satnav. This driver was experienced, he should have known better.
YES COLIN UR CORRECT !
No loadshedding tomorrow 🤔how is that possible with no extra power sounds like another plandemic😎
Staffing solutions that is an agent, how can you have agent in a dangerous goods
Let's not blame people it was a freak accident
No. It was driver error. The truck should never have taken this route.
@@pornokid333 exactly, why he even forced the truck cos I was already stuck?he did stupid
Such an experienced n qualified driver, y was in da back road n a built up n residential area, company charged.
@pornokid333
The driver was there for non work related "buisness". That's how things goes.
@@hendrickswart4122 That's a bad way to get exposed for having an affair.
Teach the people dangerous goods need trained people to attended to
Wearing the cheap polyester clothing which is light, convenient & ironing free, factory manufactured artificial fibres is extremely dangerous in situations like this plus in house or shack fires as the fibre melts into the skins of the victims & continues to melt or burn, leading to serious injuries.
Natural fibre materials such as cotton, flax, wool, animal leather & bone or wood are far safer and do not release potentially dangerous/poisonous/ toxic vapours into the air.
A temporary employment agency
Have you seen the state of the roads and what signs not even the robots work properly , government and the municipality must take responsibility as well
Where were the fire brigade by that time
At the local KFC
The last I heard this ISS were not complying with NBCRFLI
Don't believe the co.
This is because he wanted to take a short cut to the Hospital and he should be investigated
Maybe dont try pillage we are not Nigeria unless you live in Zuma Kraal
Its owned by a Cadre a given
You mean Arnoux Mare is a cadre?
Lol blaming the GPS?😮
It's either the driver was drunk if he's experienced
Why are these capitalists not in jail?
On what charge? The fact that the driver was negligent isn't the companys' fault.
What an idiot comment, go put on ur red overall and go cut someone's grass
@@OldRhino You can not reason with stupidity.
@@ZARBOER Debating an intelligent person is very difficult, but debating a dumb one is impossible, because they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
@@OldRhino Agree? Well said.
The reason is simple people. driver error. As an experienced driver of hazardous materials and operator of abnormal vehicles he should have been more aware of hes surroundings. Especially when driving under overhead structures. At the end of the day he is at fault and the reason for the lives lost and should b held accountable.
