Jessica Villerius is a known documentarymaker in the Netherlands. She also made a documentary about Clinton Young who has been on deathrow for 20 years and is innocent, now due to her documentary they got him off of deathrow and he is in general population now awaiting a new trail.. there is a Dutch lawyer who is also helping him with that. And she also made a docu-series about the children of Ruinerwoude.. with which she won a prize too👍👍

a big moment in this video is when the safety of the suspect is mentioned. Dutch police rarely kill a suspect and people can expect a fair trial, where as in the US too many times we see the police also be judge, jury and executioner

Sorry? I watch lots of USA police footage, where the hell did you find this? I see officers who are extremely patient (especially with black people) and officers who are being assaulted and shot at. Dead officers during duty is a thing in the USA.
Met andere woorden, wat een lul verhaal. Je wauwelt linkse media na, maar hebt geen idee waar je het over hebt. Bijna iedereen is gewapend daar. Aub, laat me een clip zien waar deze agenten rechter en jury zijn. 😡

main difference with USA is that here in Holland we have one jurisdiction. an officer from the most southern part of holland can arrest someone all the way up north if needed. Besides that, out police have got a close relationship with German and Belgium police and they all assist each other if needed around the borders and even across the borders. basically the Dutch police see the police from our border countries as their fellow workers.
because there is only one jurisdiction in Holland, there can never be a discussion about who should resolve or investigate anything.

It also makes sense to start incident response with blue because in NL we have well-connected neighbourhood officers, specialists in drugs . weapons / negotiating/ children, etc. The watch officer will call on any of the appropriately-skilled officers available, and they will decide (via radio) whether other skills are needed. The Blue is prepared and trained to de-escalate, lock down situations, and support victims, and can link through to other agencies (e.g. medical) directly. In the US the beat cop is overruled by his superiors and then by F***ers with big guns shouting 'get on your knees, a**hole'!

To give you an answer on your comment about federal troopers and the chain of command here in The Netherlands: The Dutch police force is a national thing divided into sections. Take for instance the unit The Hague. That unit covers all of The Hague and the municipalities around it. But an officer from The Hague is still allowed to work in other districts during his shift.
Most of the time the first vehicle on scene is in command. Until there arrives a chief of service (OvD) or operational coordinator (OpCo) they will take charge in the case. For the DSI there is one group leader (GPC) he is the one in charge of the team. He is also the guy to wait outside of the home. Then you have an assisting leader (Plava) that takes point in the raid or whatever.
The DSI is an assisting unit in The Netherlands. Which means that the lead in any situation will be the OpCo or OvD. The OpCo and OvD are there to coordinate the big picture so they manage the GPC, their own units and communicate with other diciplines like the Firedepartment. So the GPC is only in charge of his team. But whether or not he may deploy is the decision of the OvD.
The reason the police is the one in charge and not the military is because they are in police territory. When outside of the country the military takes responsibility!

Fun fact did you know if the police enter the wrong building that they not only have to pay for damages but that they have to clean up all the mess they made

I'm glad there are people like this trying to keep the civilians safe. Extremism is always a threat unfortunately. Sometimes you see these people blasting by on the highway. I always think: go go go, keep us safe. It is a good thing we don't know everything. And regularly reed about evil plans being prevented. Tax money well spent. Greetings from the Netherlands

Why would someone with prior murder convictions have possession of multiple firearms? In the Netherlands we aren't allowed to carry or purchase our own firearms on every street corner, only very very rare exceptions are made after thorough screening and training, registration, probably gonna need a damn good reason to keep one as well. So legally almost nobody is in possession of a single firearm. This being said, that isn't to say it's impossible to get them illegally so some people do still have channels to acquire firearms, but through those channels, it's rather expected you acquire them with malicious intent so the people that sell it to you simply don't care at that point.

7:15 I live in tilburg, and even though this is old, it still gave me a shock. And i think i know where the raid happened, bc how that girl reacted, cuz there is kind of stereotype that is like 99,9% accurate, i think it was in broekhoven, cuz ppl there are kind of, how do i exlplain this in a nice way, disrespectful and dont quite follow rules thats the nicest i could explain it. Edit: I was prob wrong, cuz broekhoven doesnt look like that, sorry! My 2nd guess is close to raupstraat and puishaven, atleast it look like that area!

When this AT or SWAT has 1500 operations each year, it doesn't necessarely mean there are 1500 terrorist threats to be handled.

There is no EU police and no EU army. So that makes things easier. There are treaties that allow police to continue investigations and chases (even with blue lights) inside neighbouring countries.

You can't compare a single country to the USA. Basically it is the problem of each seperate city. You do not have an police force, you have sheriffs. Each city has its seperate force and they never work together. Then the states. And finally the federation. It is never is a cohesive force, islands in a sea of land. By definition each one looking out for number one: ME.

Looks like that guy knew they were coming keeping everything so unusually closed up and then his ex wife comes running to do what? yell at the police? Of course he would have hidden all the guns somewhere else. Someone yelled at him to "hang in there" as he was put in the car.

The DSI is a unique collaboration between police and military. Watch all 6 episodes and you will learn that.
