The reason for a more casual march is avoiding joint injury. The rigid way of marching go against the natural flow of the body and can cause joint injury by slamming the leg onto the ground with a knee that’s not bent. It may sound ridiculous to some but it’s a fact. If you played sports or were in the military you will know what I mean.
I will also say that I saw some of the U.S. members out of step and that frustrates the hell out of me because that is sloppy and shouldn’t happen. If it does there’s a quick way of fixing it.
Actually if its more relaxed its easier to get in to step, thats kind of why they marched in a relaxed form, marching was formed as a way to move from point to point faster if all soldiers in an army are marching at the same pace and synchronized its faster, which is why Goose Stepping invented by the Prussians was more useful on Long term Campaigns cause its much faster.
Some militaries sure expound a lot of energy in marching. Whew! Interesting video, thank you for posting this.

@doleofdolonia8859, I worked for the USArmy for 15 years, my daughter was in the marching band throughout school and some of college. My OD, lol, Other Daughter, daughter from another mother, is in the Marine Corps, a Gunny Sgt. who is a member of the Marine Corps Band. I get the concept of marching bands. 😂😂😂
I got to be in uniform, only one time, in ROTC. I was in formation for "change of command" as a military civilian only one time. Was jealous ;-)
Anyone else watching this critiquing them? I was sitting here muttering to myself " That one's not in step, that one's not in sync, that one's not doing what he's supposed to do at all." 21 years later and all I can think about is those damned TI's!
I unironically love the first group of Americans who didn't even have their arm swinging synchronized, and some soldiers even on the wrong foot. I'm reminded of why Americans were first called Yankees, an insult British soldiers used to make fun of the way colonial troops marched. Keep the tradition alive, boys.
I understand that the two white guys marching with the Tanzanians were Royal Marine Commandos from the UK who were advisors...
I like South Korea the best because they all saluted me.
You may have figured this out on your own, but troops that have a more relaxed marching style are the ones you REALLY don't want to fight.
Actually British aren't relaxed, neither is most of the 32 Countries in NATO only the US marches sloppy
@@yourmother1631 parade marching has no practical use in combat, and that's mostly why america doesn't focus much on it during training.
european country's do it mostly because it's tradition and they hold more military parades than the usa, while other countries like north korea and china do it more as a show of force.
So he is correct, you really don't want to fight the troops that are marching more relaxed in this video because they are part of the best trained and most well funded military in the world and while the english troops might be well trained there are so few of them and they are so underfunded that it's questionable if they could fight a war without allied support.
and china's only advantage is the number of troops they have and the industrial base which could be destroyed quite easily in war, their troops are far less trained and pretty much only do marching every day unless they have an active role.
@@trollingpcgames Marching is practical in war. Marine Corps Drills 24/7 no wonder the army is so bad. the only good troops the US has is the United States Marine Corps the guys who actually march good and are disciplined DRILL DRILL DRILL a well disciplined group of men is better than another undisciplined un trained group of men. The US Army lost in Afghanistan and Iraq had to be saved by the corps multiple times
@@trollingpcgames You know nothing about the Military. there is a reason they drill 24/7. Discipline is a Military standard you should read a couple history books. if marching had no practical use we wouldn't be a god damn nation

Discipline is indeed important but marching is only one of many methods to improve it.
And in war marching will not have any use whatsoever.
the marines are indeed well trained but marching is not the reason for their skill.
Your argument does not hold up, you cherry picked a few scenarios where the marines helped the army and then said the army lost because they could not march and the marines could march so they had to save them… such a dumb argument.

South Korea does not goose-step. That's North Korea. Did you miss China at the start of the reaction? They are literally the second army marching.

This first group of soldiers for the US were really getting on my nerves because their cadence was really off. I'm sorry but if I was the Platoon leader I would have made sure everyone was crisp and tight with their movements. Now when they had the single platoon it was pretty tight.
Those weren't soldiers they were marines the second and third group was soldiers army fourth group is also Marines
@yourmother1631 Doesn't really matter which group they were from, the first group was out of step with each other. I was trained Army but went Air Force all because of my fear of heights. If I knew then what I know now about Depression and Anxiety pills I probably would have went Army. But I was also trained on the Drill Team and Flag Team. So I know a little bit about precision, ok.
@@WestTXRedneck1972 Those marines out of step got some shit from the Platoon Leader later saw and article about it. Marines are the most disciplined of any branch of the armed forces they train litterally every time they wake up they do drill at 5 AM just after they wake up best believe they got their asses handed to them.
@@WestTXRedneck1972 Also adding you were on a drill team and flag team not a combat unit these men you see here are 0300 Marines and 11X Army. The MOS Designation for Infantry for both branches sooooo ofc they aren't as good as a drill team or a flag team

A military parade is a non-combat event, why would it be wasteful to march in certain ways? Many of these marching styles are hundreds of years old. Arm swinging from the British. Goose stepping from Prussian and Soviet styles. These are ultimately all for show. No need to judge in such a manner.
It takes no energy actually.
The reason the United States doesn't indulge in Parade ground marches is that its a Military that actually does war, instead of training for months for a Yearly Military parade.
