    How-to installation video! The new i-Get 50cc 4T Vespa and Piaggio models are unfortunately very slow... One of the simplest ways of improving the accelleration and top speed is to install a Malossi Variator. These kits are very straight forward to install.

    Thank you for your reply. I was thinking this might be a reasonable solution, since the special bolts are difficult to work with and expensive too.

      Great video guys I just wanted to say there are better ways to change the spring on the clutch. I didn't want to pick on a negative in my opinion but just a mention. Keep up the good work.
      Reply: Thanks Caleb, yes agree! There is a clutch press tool which presses the spring to release the nut. This is just a quick way to change the spring and shows that anyone at home can do it. Thanks for the comment all the best👍

    Hi, thx for the great tutorial. I have a question: after removing the 2 special bolts from cranckcase (anti tamper bolts), did you put another 2 identical or did you replace them with 2 normal cranckcase cover screws for easy future dismantling. If I takeout the 2 anti tamper bolts can I replace them with normal bolts or I have to buy another 2 special ones? Thank you.

      Thank you for Comment👍. The bolts should be replaced with the same type as the others in the cover and the same length of the anti tamper samples.

      @@scooterstreetau hi which roller weights do you reccomend to help acceleration I've just purchased the kit are the 6.5gm roller weights you reccomend included I the malossi kit?

    • @scooterstreetau
      @scooterstreetau  2 роки тому +1

      @@33machine The Malossi 5111597 come with 6.1 G rollers. It is always very difficult for us to answer this question as we don't know your set up, we get asked nearly everyday. So we always answer with the rule we follow when trying to find the best acceleration: Start with the weight Malossi has provided and then try different weights from there. You may find the supplied set up works best or you can start with a heavier set of rollers and work down in .5 gram weight reductions until the best performance is found. As always fitting multiple parts will enhance the overall performance, by this scenario I mean variator / rollers / Clutch springs / torque spring. Good luck and thanks for comment.

    Regarding the pen marks on the face of the variator. If the belt doesn't travel all the way to the top what would you change/adjust to get the belt to ride all the way to the top ? Thanks love the videos.

    • @scooterstreetau
      @scooterstreetau  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the great comment😉. The Factory belt is 756mm in length, you could use a Malossi belt specifically for this model which is 765mm in length. The longer belt will travel higher and give more gearing to the rear pulley, should give a slightly higher top speed (the length difference in this example is not enough to make a significant notable change). We mark the Variator face so after running the engine to max speed we inspect to notice if the maximum belt gearing has been reached by way of the belt erasing the pen mark at the most outer point of the variator face..
      There are many things to consider so proceed cautiously. With a new scooter you would expect running gear to be in excellent operating order so wear and tear will not be a factor to consider when do this experiment for yourself. I would check the maximum travel of the variator faces can be reached at the shaft (faces touching at the hub). Also to check the rear pulley can close to minimum position at the start to assist take off from idle (low gear) and also open to maximum gearing when the belt moves forward to increased speed. The variator will pull the belt forward and the rear pulley will release to allow the belt to travel down into the torque shaft. Approach the transmission with the question how to safely gear to maximum and not just a matter of fitting a longer belt.😵

      The pen marks indicate any movement of the nut position. Over time, heat, wear and other factors can cause loosening of the nuts. We pen mark all the nuts for brakes, wheels and exhausts so they can be visually inspected. Really good practise for always trying to do things better.
      You will notice we have made Pen marks on the nuts for the pulley and also the crank and clutch nuts, after a test ride we can do a visual inspection on the nut position and the pen marks will indicate movement should the nut loosen.

      The variator will increase the acceleration, mid range and top speed was 61kph. With the Injtronic (CDI) unit for 50cc model the top speed managed 67kph.
      We found the best increase are with this set up: Cylinder kit, Injtronic for Malossi cylinder, Gear kit, Variator, 6.5 gram rollers or depending on riders preference.
