    The Struwwelpeter stories:
    www.gasl.org/refbib/Hoffmann__...
Der Struwwelpeter ("shock-headed Peter" or "Shaggy Peter") is an 1845 German children's book by Heinrich Hoffmann. It comprises ten illustrated and rhymed stories, mostly about children. Each has a clear moral that demonstrates the disastrous consequences of misbehavior in an exaggerated way. In this video I will tell you about the background of one of the most famous German children's books as well as the rather unusual short stories written by Heinrich Hoffmann.

Learn German the natural way with comprehensible easy German!
In the classroom we are told to endlessly study grammar and memorise concepts, however, research shows that language is acquired through authentic experiences. The concept of Natürlich German is based on Dr. Stephen Krashen's second language acquisition theory, in which one uses comprehensible input to acquire a language, rather than 'learn' it.

Your German is much EASIER to understand than most Germans I listen too. Thank you for telling me about this book. Poor kid without his thumbs is sad.

This was my favorite book as a child! I still have my original copy which I then read to my own children. Mine actually has one more story in it, the story of Struwwel Lise - a girl similar to Struwwelpeter, who is lazy, dirty, wears torn clothes and gets into mischief. She doesn’t pay attention while crossing the street and gets hit by a car. While I’m the hospital she has nightmares about all the mischief she’s caused. A soup tourin and ladle scold and shame her, the vegetables she was supposed to pick scold her as well. She wakes from her nightmare promising to be good, well behaved and well groomed.
Not sure why this story wasn’t in the book she read in the video. Maybe mine is an older version (I am 60 years old! My Oma (grandma) read this to me when I was very small. It is my most beloved book, even though the scare tactics used are probably not the best by today’s standards of child rearing. My kids loved the book as well. In fact, I found online a child’s China cup and saucer with the thumb cutting scene! I gave it to my youngest son because he loved the book and that story. He was never a thumb sucker (I never scared him with that moral), we just like scary things and the illustrations I’m the book are wonderfully macabre, some of them!

Hallo.

Well, advanced usually refers to C1-C2 and she already has an intermediate playlist on her channel, so I'm presuming that's B1-B2.
