  • Miniart keeps developing its line of various military vehicles in 1/35 scale. This time we get StuG III Ausf.G as Interior Kit. Yes, you will be able to build German AFV inside and out!
All parts are quite hefty and come in relatively large box. Let's open it together in this video and take a closer look together.

Miniart have made mistakes in the radio system.
Miniart provide us with two copies of the standard Fu5 radio. That is not a normal configuration for a Stug or any other Panzer.
The normal equipment was a single Fu5 on the left side, or if you were a platoon commander, Fu5 on the right side and a receiver on the left side.
So, one of Miniart's radio boxes should not be used.
Miniart should have noticed this when they were doing the cable connections, because there's nowhere to connect the extra box. But they glossed over that.

Miniart have made mistakes in the intercom system.
    1. The socket boxes (molded into the side walls) were either vertical or horizontal, depending on the date of vehicle manufacture. But Miniart have them vertical on one side of the vehicle and horizontal on the other.
    2. The socket boxes had prominent cable ports sticking out of them, and cables entered at these ports. But Miniart's boxes on the left side have no ports, and Minart's cables enter them at the wrong places. This is a very careless mistake because there are clear photos of the real ones.
    3. The socket boxes were plain rectangles. But Miniart have molded a strange protruding "step" into of them. It's like they were referencing just one single blurry photo?
    4. The amplifier (part D5) is the heart of the intercom and is very visible because it's on the rear wall. Information about it is easy to find online. But Miniart have molded four cable ports into it, not three, and they have omitted some of its switches and guards. They also failed to notice that its mounts were closer together at the top, although you can see this in just about any photo of a surviving Stug firewall, whether the box is present or not.
I'm sorry to say that Miniart's entire intercom system could be cut off and replaced by aftermarket parts to make a visible improvement.

hmmmm, I wonder how is it possible to fix all these things :/

@@dsv The items that I mentioned are just a few tiny parts. Fixing them would not be difficult.
My bigger concern is, how can Miniart make such mistakes?

Miniart did NOT get it wrong! I had looked up in “The Spielberger German Armor & Military Vehicles Series Volume 2. Sturmgeschütz and its Variants by Walter J. Spielberger. On page 52 you will see a war time photo of the exact same set-up that they have here. It would appear as if there were differences in the set ups and they were not all identical, but this does not mean that Miniart got theirs wrong!!
