Venus playing better and tactfully is a pleasure to watch. I hope she becomes healthy enough to put in better serves and movement
I think Venus is conserving energy and strength for later in the tournament when she plays higher ranked players. Every ounce of energy counts, and it's quite smart of her to do so.
@@TheSportslover2010 Exactly, especially considering she has an autoimmune disorder that saps her strength conserving her strength will always be the best move for her.
Her groundstrokes are so good! I’m just worried about that knee (and elbow?) . I understand Indian Wells and Miami were her only two good outings last season, and she wants to save as much as she can before the rest of the season for which she literally has nothing to defend, but you don’t wanna get a bad injury. I guess you don’t recover as quick at almost 39 than at 25. But hey, she’s enjoying it, she’s smiling, and that makes me smile too!

You know they hate the wells tournament. They say theyve forgiven them and theyre now happy to play there, but i dont buy it.
Venus is playing on pure grit and determination. You can tell she is not 100%, but her determination to win is 1000%. Great job Queen Venus

@@amadeo5327 Something with her elbow as far as i remember.Ground strokes are fine ,no issues there but the moving motion when she is serving bothers her and it makes her feel pain - thats why she serves much slower.What i m pleasantly surprised with is her variety in the last couple of matches.She changes the rhythm and plays with more spin and variety and this is not something we know her for.I am really fan of this new smart game!

I think she's doing it on purpose. See, most of the players are used to her pace on serve. By doing that, she scrambles their return position. It's very effective, especially with the conter pushers.

Of the two sisters Venus is my favorite . I always root for her hope she can improve her ranking. Skip the French and prepare for Wimbledom and US Open.!🐯

I find this hilarious, Venus is clearly playing with an injured knee and moving very gingerly, yet still winning her matches. Her knee has been sore since beating Kvitova in Indian Wells, idk why she doesn’t rest it and get it better. It’s awesome that she can still win with a bum knee but we’re gonna need that knee better by Wimbledon if she wants a shot at winning it.

Sabior19 judging by my thumbnail you call bullshit? Um what the hell does that mean? What does my thumbnail have to do with anything? And she didn’t even defend her points in Indian Wells so it didn’t matter because she dropped lower in the rankings and with her knee probably won’t be able to here. I’d rather her take time to get better than to make it worse. Did you see her against Halep in Montreal last year? Not a good look. Clay will be easier on her joints but with sliding and playing on a sore unrested knee it’s not gonna help her.
She can keep playing this way if you want, but you and I both know she needs to take a few weeks off to heal it because she can’t win a title moving this gingerly against the big players. She was moving well in Australia she just needs to get back to that. Her ball striking at the moment is good though and what’s keeping her hanging in.

Venue is playing best tennis of her life.
I am sorry but no. No!!! She is playing amazingly and impressively. She is playing now better than at many junctures in her career, for sure. But no way- her best tennis was 2000-2001, 2005 Wimbledon, 2008 Wimbledon and 2010. Her 2017 season also was absolutely incredible. I feel she is still playing great and is dangerous to anyone but she still has some way to go before she plays as well as those seasons i just mentioned

@@juliodelascas6215 both great but 2002 overshadowed by Serena (she should have won in both Miami and Wimbledon really) and 2007 was a tremendous second half (that USO match with Henin WOW!) but a tentative first half to the year.

Venus is really not moving well lately. Definitely slower than last year.
That’s a lie. Up until the quarterfinals of Indian Well, she was moving fantastic all year. Commentators made multiple comments about how she was moving quick. She injured her knee in IW and you can *clearly* see that it’s taped and she’s limping. She’s moving better than last year. The point at 3:01 alone proves it. She hasn’t been able to defend that well in years

Venus will struggle when she plays someone who hits angles and drop shots. Her movement is poor, and she wont make it to balls hit wide. Her serve is slow, and good returners will hurt her with wide angles.
She is still capable of some great tennis when the ball isn't too far away from her and she can amble across to it, but her movement is a real weakness now.
