This is so great! I've been wanting to make a shelf for my crystals but my spouse keeps putting it off so I'm just going to do it myself lol. This was extremely helpful. Thank you!
I really appreciate you leaving in the little mistakes. It’s a great way for others to learn. I love how it turned out and it really does look perfect in your bathroom. I’m happy to report I treated myself to some drill bits. I managed to grab myself some palettes and I’ve been playing. You’re a HUGE inspiration to me and I’m gaining strength with each and every project I take on that I’ve learned from you! I absolutely ADORE You! Keep em coming Honey, I’m excited to learn more.xxx
It came out sooo nice! I love the way you styled it & I also love the rawness of your videos you always show your mistakes which shows that it's not always gonna be perfect & sometimes you have to try it more than once or even brainstorm to make it work.
I love this!! I’ve been wanting to make a set of three smaller ones for displaying crystals and essential oils, small plants, etc. probably with a nice dark weathered stain. Now that you’ve made this tutorial I may have the balls to give it a shot myself!!
It's great to see you work on this! I think there is some space for 'finishing' the wood. Since it was painted and highlighting the wood grain isn't important, Bondo for car repairs is a cheap/plentiful fiberglass filler that can be used to get all the little spaces in the wood. A small hand-planer can help trim the wood down so it doesn't stick out like it is. At the home repair box stores, the wood is often still 'green' and curing, so there is going to be a lot of warping as it dries out. Pine is also a softer wood, and with it being thinner, is really going to be tricky to work with... there really isn't a lot you can do and people new to wood crafting can get frustrated with themselves trying to figure out why the results aren't what they expected. Keep up the work, I really enjoy seeing you work with the projects and grow from your experiences. :)
I need to get a hand-planer so bad! Thank you for all the tips - definitely using these moving forward. You are so sweet taking the time to show some love and share your knowledge - thank you again!
As a diy lover I can tell you for sure that you are the best on UA-cam (ps: I’m subscribed to almost every diyer on this platform ) you are original / different keep going Rachel 💕💕💕 plus i find that you are gorgeous much love from Morocco
Love this so much!! My style has changed over the years for sure. Want to make this then you said have to take apart if you make mistakes, hmmm, not ready for this.
I discovered your channel today and I have been binge watching your videos almost all day long hahaha omg. I loveee your videos.!! I love the details, the honesty and explanations you put in each one. You inspire me so much and make me want to DIY everything in my future home! I love doing the job myself too ! It's so satisfying to do the work, be proud of all the effort you put in the project and also, save so much money..! I sure will keep coming back your channel for more :)
You're killing it!!! I was showing you to my husband last night and now he's upset we don't have Home Depot haha. I would love to collaborate if you ever get a minute ❤️
You are an inspiration. I will be attempting to build these for my boutique ...great video...watching you with the nail gun made me really nervous though 😤😂
Yaaaaaasssss!!! I’ve been waiting for this!!! Thank you so much for making this. P.S. you trying to clear that jam in the nail gun made me soooooooo nervous lol. Please never show that again😂😂
Both headphones in volume all the way up hey thanks for great content this is a cool triangle #livingtodiy always best watching anything you create. Much Love Rachel Metz
#goals! That looks amazing!! Great job :) I’m getting used to using power tools honestly after my husband and I bought our first house. You made me feel inspired to try to make this along with other wood/shelf maybe even some furniture projects! 😃 your decorating skills are on point too!!
Very pretty. You’re such a joy to watch and thanks for all the wonderful ideas. Wanna start DIY stuff but don’t know where and how to start lol. Anyway, am curious about your wall panel/plank. Is that done or you’re still working on it? Thanks and keep on rocking 🤗😘
Such an awesome job Rachel! Thank you for sharing the video and inspiration. I do gotta ask, how did you manage to hang that large triangle in the back ground of the video? What would you recommend? Thanks again!
Any advice for dealing with a minor bow in the one of the sides of triangle? 😭 the shelves are not lining up! Just trying to avoid redoing! Maybe a way to fill gap?
Did you trim the boards again when they didn’t line up? Ps. New to your channel and playing with wood but it’s cool to see another women working with the same tools i have!
I genuinely can't remember without watching the tutorial myself to be honest. I would measure to fit your triangle! Best advice I can give if I didn't mention within the video xx.
@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz thank you i saw them in several areas in your home and just wondered. By the way, i started watching your videos after i saw the one with the Sorry Girls. now i have been binge watching. so forgive me if i seem to over zealous. You are really good at what you do

Not at all! This channel is sharing my process of learning power tools and progressing through projects to give inspiration for people to do the same. I have a ton of recommendations for the perfect woodworkers but I am not one ❤️.

the contrast with the plants and white is absolutely perfect i love this so much
Thank you Kyra! I appreciate you taking the time to show some love.
you attempting to blow the saw dust had me weak. we have all been there in one form or another.
😫😂🤦🏻♀️ I died when editing it haha had to put it in.

Yay! Can't wait to see what you create. I made a smaller version with an American Walnut stain and it's stunning.
That sounds so pretty!!!
I think that's the exact stain I have that I used on my vanity table top and another shelf thing!

You're a hoot! Love you videos. Ummm, don't forget to water your hanging plant, as it looks thirsty!
Haha thank you! I tend to kill any plant I have.
I would love to make a small one I can hang in the bathroom to put my skincare items on so I can save counter space!!
I love that idea!
Any recommendations on what type of wood to use for a smaller size and how to hang it on the wall?
Love this video I just found your channel!
Stoked you found me! Thanks for commenting and showing love xx.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Oh if I could get these tools 😔 ...
It has gained one more subscriber. Rio de Janeiro

Thank you so much Carlos!
After sanding, wipe down the boards with a tacky cheesecloth so the particles don't get stuck into the stain or paint.
Thank you!
Wow thank you! What wall panel plank? The blue one?
How long did you cut the flat pieces?
finally!
Right!?
What kind of mitre saw is that? Looking to buy one, but there are too many on the market to just choose. LOVE the videos. THANKS!
Ryobi! Thank you for the love xx.
Thank you sooooo much
Of course!
Such an awesome job Rachel! Thank you for sharing the video and inspiration. I do gotta ask, how did you manage to hang that large triangle in the back ground of the video? What would you recommend?
Thanks again!
My best friend's dad hung it for me since it required a lot of support. I would have a handy man assess and do it properly. Thanks for the love!
Awesome vid!! Your channel is lit.. Any info on the wood piece on the wall.. If you made that can we get a tutorial?.. Your inspiring, keep pushing!!
I can definitely do that! Thank you for the love xx.
10/10 love it.
But you might wanna invest in a clip on mic so the audio is a lil crisper ?
You have to make due with the budget on hand - can’t wait to be able to upgrade my mic. Soon enough ❤️
You'll be there in no time. Your content is the first i click in my subs.
Any advice for dealing with a minor bow in the one of the sides of triangle? 😭 the shelves are not lining up! Just trying to avoid redoing! Maybe a way to fill gap?
On my big triangle I had to prop it up with a scrap piece of wood since it was so long.
I think simply staining the wood instead of painting it white would look great as well
100%! All personal preference. I did a darker stain mini one and it was gorgeous.
YOU ARE THE BEST I LOVE THIS I AM GOING TO MAKE THIS
Girl! Thank you so much!
You are so amazing how did you learn all that PS Love your videos
I just dive into something I don't know and figure it out as I go. You always make me smile!
Did you trim the boards again when they didn’t line up?
Ps. New to your channel and playing with wood but it’s cool to see another women working with the same tools i have!
No I left it as is! I kind of liked the imperfections. Thanks for joining me on the journey!
What were the lengths of the last 2 pieces of wood you cut for the two tops shelves? :)
I genuinely can't remember without watching the tutorial myself to be honest. I would measure to fit your triangle! Best advice I can give if I didn't mention within the video xx.
Hey I have a question!
What is the mask you are wearing? itd be really appreciated if you could tell me! thank you!
I think it's when I am cutting wood? Or staining? Either way it's a medical one so you don't inhale the toxins, wood dust, etc.
nice
Thank you so much!
can you explain the gold hands, please?
Gold hands are just home decor from Home Depot!

Great video and project, but you really need to improve the audio quality.
