This is so great! I've been wanting to make a shelf for my crystals but my spouse keeps putting it off so I'm just going to do it myself lol. This was extremely helpful. Thank you!

I really appreciate you leaving in the little mistakes. It’s a great way for others to learn. I love how it turned out and it really does look perfect in your bathroom. I’m happy to report I treated myself to some drill bits. I managed to grab myself some palettes and I’ve been playing. You’re a HUGE inspiration to me and I’m gaining strength with each and every project I take on that I’ve learned from you! I absolutely ADORE You! Keep em coming Honey, I’m excited to learn more.xxx

It came out sooo nice! I love the way you styled it & I also love the rawness of your videos you always show your mistakes which shows that it's not always gonna be perfect & sometimes you have to try it more than once or even brainstorm to make it work.

I love this!! I’ve been wanting to make a set of three smaller ones for displaying crystals and essential oils, small plants, etc. probably with a nice dark weathered stain. Now that you’ve made this tutorial I may have the balls to give it a shot myself!!

It's great to see you work on this! I think there is some space for 'finishing' the wood. Since it was painted and highlighting the wood grain isn't important, Bondo for car repairs is a cheap/plentiful fiberglass filler that can be used to get all the little spaces in the wood. A small hand-planer can help trim the wood down so it doesn't stick out like it is. At the home repair box stores, the wood is often still 'green' and curing, so there is going to be a lot of warping as it dries out. Pine is also a softer wood, and with it being thinner, is really going to be tricky to work with... there really isn't a lot you can do and people new to wood crafting can get frustrated with themselves trying to figure out why the results aren't what they expected. Keep up the work, I really enjoy seeing you work with the projects and grow from your experiences. :)

    • @LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz

I need to get a hand-planer so bad! Thank you for all the tips - definitely using these moving forward. You are so sweet taking the time to show some love and share your knowledge - thank you again!
