when somebody mounts, you have to put your feet under your butt, bridge up, and then grab their arm when they post to keep from faceplanting ...from what i hear anyway. i've never done MMA

You're not wrong my guy. But seeing that he did bridge up, basically all he had to do was get his arm, hips and legs active to collect a half guard position then try to work into closed guard or get his butterfly hook in to create separation. He literally held him in that mount position, then he tried turning in the wrong direction almost exposing his back. I don't know if its due to lack of experience but he could've escaped if had advance knowledge of grappling.
