Respecto but who is “our”? Don’t speak for everyone. Each of us has different roots. I’m not gonna hate my personal Spanish/world roots and I am proud of my Zacateco -Sinaloa indigenous blood too. Don’t generalize. Knowledge of self, keep it real.
Just found out that I'm 60% chichimeca Indian or zacatecan Indian shall I say. I had a gut feeling I was part Indian. Now I want to know about my people as well. Happy to learn and be part of this culture. Where can I find you all in the USA in TEXAS
@@daniellozada3408 true.. Just need to know where they do there stuff. I've seen them have gatherings, etc, would love to be part of that as well. I have some clues. I have been around some. Beautiful we are. Love my people. Just hate the government sometimes. But thanks for the reply. Greatly appreciate it
@@caltats13 yeah you’re welcome, I’m not sure if they have any gatherings in the US like the Aztecs do, do to the fact that there’s not many active chichimecas left.
@@daniellozada3408 I know. I found out like 4 yrs ago. My gut feeling were like from when I was 15yrs old. Now I'm 39. My son took a ancestry test. He came back 51% chichimecan. I was amazed. My gmom past away like 2 years now. I would have loved to know more. All I knew was that she was taken from her family young. I assume they did that to a lot of Indians back then. I have read Into it. But we shall stay strong. No matter what
@@caltats13 sorry to hear that. But yeah the only reason I know my chichimeca heritage is bcuz my whole family are originally from Guanajuato, San Luis de La Paz to be exact, there’s a small community in a rancho named mission de chichimecas a few miles from where we’re from.
So, does tanec mean people? That caught my eye, since the Biloxi tribe call themselves taneks anyadi & I always wondered who they'd borrowed the word from. I'd have to assume the Chitimacha or Tunica, then. They're usually called isolate languages, but one linguist thought they were some kind of Hokan.
Feel the pride in my soul every time I see my ancestors dance. Chichimeca pride forever!
