The Canary looks appealing to me as good edc candidate, and after your cut test seems to be adequate to handle most edc knives encounter. Thanks Doody.
Yep the first edge on a blade is usually lacking in edge retention due to being sharpened by a belt grinder which burns the edge a bit. After 1 or 2 sharpenings with stones the retention on the edge almost always goes up, and sometimes it t can be quite a bit. The Knife itself makes for a good 5th pocket / backup carry and the action on mine is solid. Glad the blade isn't to heavy though as when you close it the edge of the blade hits the thumbnail, if you fidget with it alot it can dig a hole right into the thumbnail over time, just a FYI. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
Nice work Dood!!
I have the fixed canary.
Has the exact same issues.
But i love it's little cherpiness.
Perfect little edc, if your doing something light duty but wouldn't want to use something expensive.
🎶Aunty Mary had a Canary up the leg of her drawers! When she farted it departed to a round of applause! 🎶😂
😂
Spyderco's reflective stonewash is my favorite.😊
Me tooooooo 😍
I think my favorite thing about this knife is the blade shape. Throw on some sawcut titanium handles, add a hollow grind hand finished S90V blade, then we would be talking!
Oh baby… I really hope that’s in the works 😉
I got a hawk that is a laser, mini penguin with kind of a chunky grind, and a gannet that is ok but has a bit of a recurve toward the plunge grind. Hawk is by far my sharpest pocket knife
They're makin some funky knives huh. Lmao
New sub🤘🏻
I've been out of the knife game for a while.
Been carrying the bugout for a couple years, started looking for a competitor to the bugout, started with the budget canary folder.
Mine came with terrible factory edge also.
Just sharpened it and it is much better, not quite as slicey as the bugout, the blade stock is quite a bit thicker.
Hey! Welcome 🤠🤘
@doodysdaggers yeew!
your video got me contemplating that Shark cub
Does it carry anything like the bugout?
@@totschopper I’d say very similar. Lightweight, very thin
I've been using qsp mini penguin as an edc for 5-6 months now, its a well built knife, im not a fan of the steel (i think it's 14c28n?) It chips... other than that im really impressed with the quality for the price. Been thinking about giving some of their other models a try, but i "need" so many knifes all its ridiculous, its them! Not me honey😂😂😂
YOOO WHERE THE MINI AT 😢 been waiting on the lad for a while 😞
I like it but crossing my fingers for an xl version
Not a bad lil bird 🤘
Nice
3inches isn't a lot to work with? 😭 HAHA That's a cool knife. I would be interested to see how it would do if you gave it a nice sharp edge.
😂
I wish the plunge grind was better
Not too bad at all
Love that knife.. that version is 65$ not 40 from what i seen though!
Yep the g10 versions are $40
Bro this particular model with ultum is $65. Just fyi. Nice review
How’s the tip? Strong?
Thin enough to be useful but not too thin either
Thank you bro
Good test video but the Canary isn't appealing to me for some reason, can't put a finger on it. Thanks
the speed holes make 0 sense to me lol...I'd rather see it in full scales...
I'm with you there!

Spyderco's reflective stonewash is my favorite.😊
