Speaking as an old school advanced craft City & Guilds bricklayer - I'll leave the trowelling comments to a plasterer! Good job all round so far. I only wish I could binge-watch to the end already.
I am no plasterer either lol. I always love watching people who can brick lay or plaster, they make it look so easy. I wish the project was finished and I could show you but unfortunately this video is bang up to date as of yesterday.
Great to follow along with the works Glenn, that office is huge, I guess you could place a bed in there easily and still have lots of place over for an office and so on 🙂 Really interesting to see this work progression, great job again and looking forward to what is coming
Thank you for watching and all the great supportive comments. Its a very nice large space. I have future plans to start Astrophotography workshops as a small business and will need a good space for that
So excited to see how this project finishes up. I do have one concern though. I was always taught that you wanted your building walls to come right up to the edge of the concrete pad, that way the rain runs off the walls onto the ground and not onto the pad where it will wick up underneath the building and the wood beams. That will eventually hasten the rot. Maybe I'm speaking too soon and you have another layer of walls that attaches to the outside to bring it flush to the concrete pad?
Hi Greg and thanks for the comments. The pad has ended up larger than it should be. Unfortunately the plans that came with the office are not the best to say the least and it appears most dimensions stated were Approx?? Will look at solutions to stop water getting under the structure or I will get premature rot even though all the wood is pressure treated.
I'm looking forward to seeing the underfloor heating getting fitted lol, it's certainly taking shape now I reckon you'll be up & running sooner than you think. Clear skies & look forward to seeing the next installment.
Thanks Jason. It was a lot of graft but all the help I got made a difference. Still got many days of work ahead but I think its going to be a special place for my Astro once done
Brilliant start Glenn, shame about the weather at the end! It’ll fly up now mate, I’ll be over soon to inspect it🤣 and we can chat about the obsey side👍 Great job mate! CS
Thanks mate. Been a real battle with the naff weather but as you say it will fly up now. Looking forward to chatting over ideas and plans on the further build. Clear skies mate
Now the hard parts done, the rest will fly up. Definitely consider solar ;) you know its a winner. I might order one of those all sky cameras that were on sale last week
I did take a look at them. I really fancy one also. I will look at solar solutions as well. good idea. I need the weather to sort itself out though lol
I remember your plans but seeing the size of it 'in the flesh' is really cool and also shows you the large scale of it. And did your dog bring you tea? No 😜
Hi Basil and thanks. Yes it is quite large but Its a dream build. I am very happy but very fortunate too. My dog Havana is as cute as and well behaved but not managed to train her to make tea yet lol.
I'm late to the party on this one! - Keep up the progress updates mate, you know it's going well when even Ed Sheeran flies over in his chopper to take a look for himself! :-D
Not sure if Ed was taking a peek or not or whether it just looks like a helipad and I confused a pilot 😂. Lets hope they don’t think my scopes look like SAM batteries or I’ll get bombed
Really good job Glenn, been catching up with all your efforts, your enthusiasm always drives me, one thing or two my wife loves your dog❤, and she says put something under your knees or at 60ish you'll end up like me, a hobbling moaning old git !! 👍👍..
Thank you Tom , I really appreciate your support and kind comments. Havana is a lovely dog we have had for 5 years now. My work overalls actually have built in knee pads so I am not abusing myself as much as it looks lol. Thanks again and clear skies
Looking GREAT, Glenn. Oh ... and ... Such a CUTE puppy!
Thank you Pat. She is a cutie and knows it lol. She is 5 now and called Havana.

Thank you Dave. Working on it, could do with some of your sunshine
@@Astrobloke I've got no sunshine, just lots of cloud rain and lightning, did image a bolt this morning, on my community posts.
Go Big or go Home, lotta great options open with that amount space, hope the weather cooperates, Clear Sky's.
