    rvz.la/2ksvu6n
    The Schuberth C4 returns with some big upgrades. An aerodynamically tuned, Direct Fiber Processing (DFP) shell contains a sun visor, serious ventilation, and a high-tech interior for many miles of comfort. The C4 Pro is also available in carbon fiber. Thanks to an Integrated antenna, speaker and microphone, the C4 Pro is ready to accept SC1/SC2 communication systems. Additional features include an extra wide viewport, an anti-fog lens-ready face shield (included), and DOT certification.

    After all of the iterations of the original C3 Schuberth has not yet significantly surpassed it. I guess they only want this new helmet to be worn in cool to cold climates. I’ll keep rocking my NOS C3, thank you very much

      The helmet has both certifications, but Schuberth only puts the sticker necessary for the market on any given helmet, so, DOT sticker in the U.S. It is the same helmet. You'd have to ask Schuberth why they made this decision. Perhaps reducing visual clutter on the back of the helmet, perhaps a fee you pay per helmet per sticker. The main difference of ECE vs DOT is that a helmet flunks ECE if it transmits more than 275 Gs max. DOT allows 400 Gs. There are some other differences, but that's probably the most important one.

    I am breaking down and purchasing a full face mod helmet to use on cold and rainy days ONLY. I love my BADASS but trying to decide between the C4Pro and Shoei N II. Price is not an option it sucks but I guess I have to suck it up so looking to see who prefers the C4Pro or the Shoei Neotec II - C4Pro is the only ECE rated out of the two......

    • @keithjordan6277
      @keithjordan6277 4 роки тому

      I just went through this exact deliberation (except not for cold and rainy days only, for every day), and went with the C4 Pro, because of fitment. If they fit equally well, I would probably go with Shoei. My best advice is to try them on. Also, don't confuse the C4 and the C4 Pro. Schuberth confused everybody with those names. They have different internal shapes and the small and large shells are used on different sizes, ie they do not fit similarly. The C3 Pro (and the closely related cheaper version, the C3 Lite) fit about the same as the C4 Pro, and may be easier to find locally. Cycle Gear near me has the C3 Lite in stock.

    Have the issues with the SC1 comm system been fixed? I’ve heard that everyone’s main complaints are that they have a hard time connecting/ staying connected with other riders’ senas, and that the battery compartment allows the battery to get joggled around causing it to shut the system off at the slighted jarring (like when you open and close your modular lid). I really want to buy this helmet and the SC1 comm system.. but I don’t want to spend that much money just for it to be a headache.

    The C4 fit is completely different to that of the C3 Pro, so much so that I can’t wear either of the C4 helmets I’ve bought - neither fit. I loved my C3 Pros. I wonder about the C4 Pro.

      I don't know why he didn't mention it in the video, and the fact the microphone is now in a place where it can actually hear what you're saying, and the inner liner is the same as the C3 Pro (better than C4)

I love the design of the helmet and the intercom is both good and concealed, but I just can’t wear them. I was sad and out of pocket obviously. In the days where it is so easy to scan one head shape, I am amazed that there isn’t anyone making helmets that fit perfectly.

      I have not tried a C4 non-pro; however, from extensive research before I decided to buy a C4 Pro, what I found was that the C3 Pro had a more neutral shape, the C4 had a more narrow shape, and the C4 Pro is back to the more neutral shape. The C4 non-pro also used the small shell for XS and S, and the large shell for M and up. The C4 Pro uses the smaller shell for XS-L and the larger shell for XL up. Some people will prefer the fit of the C4 non-pro, but most (especially most happy C3 Pro customers) will probably prefer the fit of the C4 Pro.

    I was just in a store and had the opportunity to fondle a C4 Pro. I ride with a Shoei Neotec 2 or HJC RPHA90 normally for reference. The C4 pro looked slick, however, the quality seemed like junk. The chin vent is a weird push button affair that probably won't stand the test of time, the detents on the visor sounded like a rattle trap and felt even looser, and the chin strap was way too far back against my neck. No thank you. There are numerous better and better priced helmets out there.

    • @keithjordan6277
      @keithjordan6277 4 роки тому

      It is the same helmet in the U.S. and Europe. In the U.S., many states require helmets to have DOT stickers. In Europe, I am guessing many countries require the Euro stickers. All helmets on both continents have passed both requirements and are equally safe. The issue is simply that they put DOT stickers on helmets bound for the U.S. market and Euro stickers on helmets bound for the European market. It may be cheaper or they make think it looks better/more minimalist. But that is the "small miss" he meant, not giving reassurance for buyers who aren't sure how this works, not any actual lack of safety.

      Not exactly silent, but just to complicate things for us Americans, it's pronounced like the "th" in "thousand", as opposed to what we would assume, the "th" in "the" or "thou". If that doesn't make sense, imagine saying "thou sand" vs "thousand". But I think in the U.S. and perhaps other English-speaking countries, you will mostly hear either "Schubert" plain T or "Schuberth" soft "the" style th.

    I have the BMW System VI (made by Schuberth) and the interior and clips are a pain in the a$$. When new it looks and feels super comfy and classy. After a few rides, you appreciate how much more practical is the more synthetic interior of the Shoei Neotec. My BMW interior gets super filthy with the sweat (it doesn´t wash away easily due to the fabric, something like Alcantara) and the red plastic clips to keep it in place are absolute garbage. I comment on it because they are exactly the same ones as showed in this Schuberth C4. They get deformed, they´re made out of cheap plastic and after a while the interior starts to deform and loses its place and it doesn´t clip it in place any more. I truly love the outside design of my System VI (it´s the most aerodynamic when opened) but materials and overall finish are completely underwhelming compared to Shoei. I´ve had both and I know what I´m talking about. I won´t pay these super extreme prices for a Schuberth made helmet any more in the future. Actually I´m thinking on trying the Shoei Neotec 2 next.

      I just went through this same deliberation. I think it's going to come down to fit. For me, both basically fit (no weird head shape issues); however, I am halfway between sizes M and L in some brands including Shoei. I mean with proper fitment techniques (does my skin move with the helmet when I twist it - can I get my chin partly out of the faceguard with the strap fastened - can I get my fingertip between the helmet and my forehead - etc), not "I want it to feel totally comfortable on day one". In Shoei M, I have some hot spots, in Shoei L, I can get my fingertips between my forehead and the helmet, albeit barely. If I got a Shoei, I would get a medium and hope that it opened up soon. In Schuberth, I am spot-on L. That made my decision for me. Otherwise, I don't think you can go wrong, but I might lean a little toward Shoei, because they are flat-out good without a lot of unusual issues or factors. (On the negative side, I have a personal hangup about the very large, very high-contrast Shoei logo, but I think that's just me.) Try before you buy if possible. If you can't find the exact helmets locally, you can try a C3 Lite or C3 Pro in lieu of the C4 Pro. Do not try a C4 non-pro, that has enough differences that it won't be helpful. If you can't find a Schuberth C3 Pro or C4 Pro to try on, I'd try on the Shoei and just get that if it fits. Your comment was from 10 months ago, so you may likely have decided long ago, but I'm posting this for others with similar questions.

    I ride a BMW K1300S and I find the opening on Schuberth helmets restricts visibilitry so that you have to look at the road ahead through the top edge of the visor. This means youre looking through the visor above the anti-fog insert, which is rediculous. Having to crank your head back to see properly is very uncomfortable.
    These helmets have very poor ventillation which means your head is going to sweat.
    For all theiir efforts, these helmets are not that quiet.
    Do not, under any circumstances buy a Cardo SRC comms system. They are crap and Cardo customer service sucks.
    I will not be buying another Schuberth helmet until they address these issues.
