Sebastian Radilla, representing Mexico, won the men’s competition with a finish time of 4 hours, 1 minute and 30 seconds, while Serena Xue, representing Canada, won the women’s race with a time of 4:47:22.
The event included a 1.2-mile ocean swim around the Santa Cruz wharf, a 56-mile bike race along Highway 1 and a half-marathon with a finish line at the beach
The swim started near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and ran clockwise around the wharf, exiting the water on Cowell Beach.

The half-marathon started at Depot Park, across the bridge to West Cliff Drive and around Natural Bridges State Beach. It then took runners along an access path to Wilder Ranch State Park, turning around at ocean bluffs and returning for a finish at Cowell Beach, with the last 100 yards in the sand.
