This is my parents home town. I’ve been going over this bridge all my life, back and forth from Houston to Bride City. It’s the scariest thing in the world. Especially on mushrooms…..
I once rode a 49cc moped over these bridges. My max going up the Rainbow bridge was 17 mph. Scariest moment was going down. I don’t remember how fast I got but I do remember riding the brakes significantly to prevent myself from going too fast.
I did drive over that at night pulling a cargo trailer.Hands was shaking and sweaty all the way!!!We were in and out of this area for about 30 years. When we were first there my husband was driving an older truck and the motor blew on top of the bridge.Had to coast down.😳 My friend I met there said she had to drive over it in Drivers Ed!!!!😳😳😳
I’ve crossed that bridge a number of times in my tractor trailer. It seems like a leap of faith in this video but it’s not so dramatic in real life. I worry more about the descent than the climb or summit.
Lol. I was watching this as I rode passenger on the highway and we came to a curve when the video neared the top of the bridge and my mind freaked out.
@@kathyross6776 Wrong, it's actually close to Port Arthur. Look it up on a map if you don't believe me. This is State Highway 73/87 going over the Neches River. The extra-narrow Rainbow Bridge is the southbound side going into Port Arthur, while the northbound side has its own bridge.
Nope I’m tripping from here Everyone is driving so fast. Glad you got to the other side safely I used to have to drive Brookport Bridge into Kentucky, idk how I made it thru it for a year every day. FYI drunk damaged the structure of the bridge ~Avoid brookport bridge
Yep, I recall that as well. I avoided this bridge at all costs back then, especially in bad weather. It's not as bad now with the traffic moving in the same direction.
@@sergioamayajr.5868 Oh I've seen that bridge. It was considered old even when my parents were kids (they're now around 60 y/o). The thing just needs to be merc'd and rebuilt; meanwhile we have the I-210 bridge which is thankfully MUCH nicer.
@@cameraredeye3115 I don't recall crossing the I-210 bridge in Lake Charles. I don't even recall crossing the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles. Could it be that I was so scared when crossing it many, many times.

Just keep looking straight ahead. Everything will be fine.
This bridge has the shortest guard rails I’ve ever seen.
They may not serve their purpose well, but they don't block the panoramic view down below.
That panoramic view, from so high up, would scare the crap out of me! 😳
@@aequoria2949 It's done the same to me and that's why I don't remember crossing it, at all.
That ain't good!
Imagine riding that bridge at night!
There is literally no way!! My anxiety is terrible just watching this!

Imagine going over that thing on a motorcycle on a windy day.
I hate that bridge so much. When I was a kid, traffic went both ways on the damn thing. That other bridge hadn’t been built yet.
Lol. I was watching this as I rode passenger on the highway and we came to a curve when the video neared the top of the bridge and my mind freaked out.
I use to drive over that bridge 🌉 many times it's is so scary
My Gephyrophobia would keep me from it and I used to build bridges with my dad.
Hello from Kansas 🇺🇸
I actually drive past this almost every weekend it isn't bad at all
Amazing
The bridge between Port Arthur and bridge city TX
TX-73 and TX-87
I hate that bridge. It has the lowest side rails I have ever seen
What big city in Texas is this closest too?

Bravo 👌
Wouldnt want to break down on that beast. At night. In the snow. With no beer.
Not much snow ever falls in Beaumont Tx. Maybe once in the past 25 years, not even sure of that.

Years back, this bridge had 2-way traffic and a 50-mph speed limit.

When I have dreams about driving over water, this is the bridge in my dreams. Pretty scary.
Say less I drive over it every day I live there so imagine walking in my shoes
Look up Skyway Bridge in Tampa😨

next tall bridge build name well be God Bridge
*I DROVE OVER THAT BRIDGE WILL NO SLEEP AND A HANGOVER.... NEVER AGAIN*
I always want to be in tip top shape crossing this bridge !
What happens if your car breaks down or u get a flat tire🤯...no shoulder to stop on😱
Thankfully people drive pretty slow on the bridge
I live there
You can really pick up speed going down. I have gotten up to 90mph.
The railing is so short I'm always afraid of going to fast. If a steer tire goes it's over the rail I go.
just by watching this video, I am having anxiety
Where is this from Dallas?
Bridge City, Texas. The name is fitting
vicious
Looks alot like the bridges on 526 In Charleston sc
Is a middle lane so hard to ask for?
with walls on both sides of that lane too
It was built in the 1930’s. It was originally a single lane 2 way up until the memorial bridge was built in the late 80’s.
It doesn't seem as bad but going up and getting on it. I would be very nervous. I'll try it
