    As a small mod. you can increase the number of saplings you get returned with each tree by replacing the 5 blocks next to each of the four slime crushers with open fence gates. This causes the saplings created by the gates crushing the leaves to drop straight down and into the hoppers - increasing their yield.

    Really good design, really glad GTexperience did a take on it because of how compact he got it, but his tutorial shows how to make a broken machine:P This video helped me fix my own version. Deserves a lot more views for the idea!

    This needs more views! I built some crazy one that involved taking a minecart and chopping from the top, it had SOO many issues on a server. Then I find this and it works perfectly without ANY changes.
    I still can't believe I can AFK chop Birch, Oak, Jungle AND Spruce on the same farm. Its nuts!

    You can use melons or furnaces instead of obsidian. Overall, great build. I built the 1.8 version last year, and I'm looking forward to building and testing this out in my SMP.

    Hi there. Very nice build. But it makes a lot of mess around it, with sappling flying. When you say(on coments) use stars or gate it to replace the blocks in front of piston only?

    Good job! thx for credit :D
    I suggest using a upside-down stair as leaf crushing block above the player because for me it looked like you start mining the clay block for a moment and not the wood but maybe I'm just dumb xD

      And I think you don't need a separate option for jungle and birch since using the spruce mode for them is even faster bc less abored growth attempts..But still nice

      Thank you. Actually birch and jungle tree 2 type mode possible. Oak mode will little faster, Spruce mode will save bonemeal because of 6th block. Anyway you want😊

    I built this design both in creative and survival on a smp server i play on. I love the design but i have some questions. First is what is the button for on the side that says "Spruce 6th wood"? Second is that the saplings arent always falling into the hoppers and are just scattered. And lastly is what is the angle you need to have to actually afk it because i sometimes cant break a wood block because its out of my reach. Thank you for taking your time to read my questions and answer them.

      1. We are short. (Yes, steve is short TT) We need to change spruce tree -> other tree If 6th block prevent to grow, Use botton and break it.
      2.Change to fencegate. Solid block make this phenomenon.
      3.Yes. It is important angle. getting closer to dirt.

      Are you saying if I use the correct angle, I will be able to cut the 6th block of spruce?

    Built in 1.12.2 and works perfectly.

      Todd Krempasky did you use full blocks or fences to get enough saplings?

  • @WetaMantis

    Is it 100% self sustainable in saplings?

    building this in 1.12.2. works in this version in test world. My comparator is not detecting (and sending signal to piston) when a wood block is there?!? anyone know why?

    Good design for the other trees, but for spruce it's very slow and can break..

    Just built this in our survival world. Design works great but has almost no saplings being returned. Is this a 1.9 issue, a design issue, or did we just screw the pooch when we built it?

    • @mrworm1
      @mrworm1 8 років тому

      +mr worm I figured it out. =) Nice design. Piston gets stuck quite a bit though causing me to manually reset it. It's a bit annoying but not that big a deal. I might just add a small pulse extender to prevent that.

      Yes. change solid block to fencegate. Not 1.9 problem.

    Can anyone confirm for me if this works on 1.11.2. This is a great farm for Singleplayer :D

    • @CameronPenner
      @CameronPenner 8 років тому

      Just built it on my multiplayer world. and it works great. uses a ton of bone meal for spruce. but it works well. I may have made a couple mistakes because I had to move one redstone staircase to the top over so it wouldn't power my pistons. but other than that. it was all good.
