Sadly MJH died 8 years before I was born, but he and Tom are two of my music heros!

That reminds me! It's Coffee Time! Going to get me some Max'll House. It's as good as 2 or 3 cups of this other coffee...Thank you, Tom!

Happy feel to it. Love 'em both. Creole Bell, wow. Thought John Hurt had that steady base a lot of time on the 5th instead of tonic, steadier than I thought you could play. I still pick and sing Ramblin' Boy and have the album (vinyl) and 2 of Hurts's.

As good as back in the sixties1 And so much better than what you do together with Bullock. Great stuff, Tom!

So did I. It was in college. He was a tiny guy with a tiny wife. We were all in awe. I imagine at his rediscovery he might have been terrified to see 2 strange white people asking if he were indeed, John Hurt. It gives you some sense of how he lived that when he received his first check for a performance he wasn't sure a bank would accept it.
I think the greatest tribute was Guy Davis's reaction on hearing a recording of MJH: "Who are these guys?"
Treat yourself to a musical joke: MJH singing "Gilbert and Sullivan" (ua-cam.com/video/a1LorzOpPtY/v-deo.html).
