As a landscaper in real life I can confirm that we do the celebratory spin on the zero turns
I would hire you just to watch the spin. We can celebrate with popsicles.
Every landscaper knows not to do a full spin on grass but on the road yes;)
We have a zero turn my favorite thing to do is put the right stick all the way back and the left stick all the way forward

Just so you know the “stripes” are made when the mower folds the grass in the direction you mow… so when you go back and forth it and look at it in the light it creates a giant optical illusion making it seem striped
Drae, do the HQ first so you can have more employees work and use that money to grow your company and buy your lawn mower.

Your vid brought back memories of my early teens cutting the family lawn, back in the sweet sweet 80's.
Dad bought (for me) a Deere riding mower to cut our acre back yard (Mesa Arizona).
Sitting on that mower, I was Phil Mahre, slaloming that big green bad boy around the orange, tangerine and grapefruit trees. It was a BLAST!
Dad, a year later, had a 50m, 14' deep pool put in...totally screwed my lines as a few trees had to be removed.
A couple years later mum put in her freakin' rose bush garden...followed by a conservatory/greenhouse in the year next.
The 90's came in and the mower finally gave out. Upgraded...the fun had now become a labor of work! Football practice and girls took up my spare time...and that GD miserable circus of a backyard! What a pain to mow...sigh.
My senior year... dad bought a full size Great Dane for the backyard! JFC! What was wrong with this man??
Is it any wonder that upon graduating, I took my football scholarship to an out of state university instead of local ASU?
Dad sold that house 3 months(!) after I left...probably could not find a poor slob to mow that yahoo yard for free.
So thanks for bringing back some really good times! 🐈

I actually sell most of these mowers for a living, seeing the way this game works i think the Stiga Park Pro 540 is the next best step.
Front end mower with easy reach, short turn radius and not that expensive. I don’t see how a massive Toro mower wil make this any easier.

I use to mow with my old man growing up. It makes it easier to mow if you go around twice. Making turning around easier. As well as when you get to trees. Or any object. To go around it once first so you don't have to worry about getting really close to it a bunch

Drae tip for making your lines look better: don’t correct for curves try and go in as a straight line as possible if you have to start out a little bit away from the edge of the grass to account for a curve further down, do so. If this makes any sense it’ll make it look much better in the end

Love the video btw I'd recommend doing 2-3 laps in the perimeter when mowing then start to do the stripes. Makes it a lot easier and makes it easier to make the nice shapes

HQ update for sure. Gotta work (literally) your way up to using those shinier lawn mowers. Plus they should drive a little more different than what you're using so it's good to learn on the lower stuff before moving to a shiny and expensive mower.

Drae start by outlining everything. It makes lines SO much easier and cleaner

I do this for a living, ride a hustler zero turn, you're lucky you don't have to edge/ weed wack/ or blow off lol
To mow a straight line irl, look at the end of the row you are cutting and pick something that is at the end and aim for it. Looking down is what causes crooked lines. Hard to explain but

Drea, do your perimeter and then do you tiger stripes diagonally. Then you don’t have to worry about the yards being square
Drae, want it to look real spiffy? start by doing an outline or 2 around a perimeter than go straight diagonally from a corner to another corner THEN start doing the zero turn lining and youll get those nice baseball field diagonals ;)

I hope they add weed whackers, back pack blowers and an actual truck to drive from job to job. That would make this the ultimate sim.
The Dev's did say they had the blowers/weed whackers in mind for the game. but the truck I am not sure if they would, as that probably would require a whole rework of the game. Dont quote me on that though.
Yeah those zero turns are deceptively quick. The first one I ever used was my dad's and his handles were messed up so moving them to the neutral position didn't actually stop the mowing moving like it should, so basically I hopped on, started moving way too quick, tried to stop, and ended up spinning instead. Scared the heck out of me

If u want it to look better some tips are u makes ur lines from the straightist part of the yard from your outside line and when u encounter objects in the middle of the yard make a circle around it twice then continue ur line on the other side just some tips from a landscaper

It’s way easier and faster to have a reacher and a bucket on your mower so you can just pick up any trash/obstacles as you go along.

Never heard it called tiger stripes before we called it light and dark stripes when I worked at my golf course, also for anyone who cares it’s a roller behind the blades that makes the lines, very satisfying when cutting large areas and I really mean it 😏

you could also throttle down to reduce speed I imagine because full our at say 50% Throttle would I imagine = 50% top speed unless it makes the blades turn slower as well and not cut as well but it's a thought
