i don't know about you guys but i have the feeling that in the 80s the coregraphies were more original ....like the acrobatic diagonals were better fitted in the whole thing ... the entire routines were more dancey
just fantastic, what a playful, elegant, perfectly choreographed routine. I dont know, but the girls in the 80ies had much more maturity the way they moved.
Agnes Callard's theory (about figure skating and academics but it's the same) is that it's because the ratio of # of people performers have to (~unanimously, by the book) impress, to the depth at which they have to impress them, has increased, which has corrupted training standards away from the original point of the sport, and I agree
What a beautiful routine! Thank you for posting this...I always wondered who was performing to this song while they were showing other gymnasts routines in the foreground.
Celestina Popa from ROM and Chen Cuiting from CHI should have made the FX finals as opposed to Beata Storczer from HUN and Phoebe Mills from USA. This routine is vivacious and well-executed!
I have NO idea what you're talking about! My comment was about the Romanian team having great body line and form (like toe point) and it was because Dobre and Silivas had great body line and form. Do you know what "rubbed off" in English means? It means inspired the rest of the team to have good form. You turned my comment into somethimg sexual - get your mind out of the gutter for God's sake.
spartyutube rubbed off means something else in my country and neighborhood. You should take a human sexuality class so you can get schooled. Maybe you would avoid double entendres and sexual innuendos. Especially referring to 16-17 year old females with budding breasts and intact hymens.
Only one Rumanian made EF. I am surprised that neither Popa nor Voinea could. Storzcer had no business being in that finals. Niether did Boginskaya. It should have been Silivas, Shoshounova, two Bulgarians, Mills, Thouemmller ( I hate her but her compulsary was excellent) and two fo the following: Cuiting, Popa, Voinea, or Johnson.
@@metsdudenj Yes I agree. It is amazing someone who had 2 double twists and can't even do a double tuck without badly cowboying their legs due to their lack of power, could medal in the floor field that year.
All I'm saying is that this is what's symptomatic of the current code of points. Full rotation of skills to get the points for them regardless of how they come in combination, etc. It was a joke.
I feel like this beautiful gymnast with fantastic extension and choreography deserved better music. This would have been even better with more appropriate music.
I would think Chen Cuiting and Popa had great optionals, i would have replaced Storzcer for sure, but Mills compulsary was too superior to take her out of finals. I liked this routine though, but not enough to take Mills out.
Hmmm...what will we call Tsuks? Iourchenkos? Giengers? Jagares? That is the prestige of doing it first - you get it named after you! But if you insist...we'll call you mrparkeBIGA**

Her line was superrrb! I miss this kind of quality.
I love celestina she was my coach for a few years. I miss her so much! She was and still is wonderful
No one has ever done a better Popa than Popa herself! Superb
Extremely underrated gymnast!
Extremely underrated!! If you haven't seen here balance beam routine from these Olympics...it was phenonmenal!!!
@@markb7163 Yes it was beautiful!
Love this. Such an exuberant and relaxing performance
I still love it too haha

She is really dancing and is very graceful! Nice
Thank you! The first and original full twisting straddle jump by Popa herself!
Lovely routine... she was always an asset to the Romanian team, but rarely got the credit she deserved
I think this was definitely the most flexible and artistic romanian squad.
So proud to say she was my coach when I was younger❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
0:29 A popa ! the best by herself!!! Divine!!!
one of the best floor routines !!!
00:02 look at that cute, fresh, full of life face 😍 gorgeous routine!
This floor routine has everything. 🎉
Just wow! Clean technique and amazing flexibility! Beautiful !
whenever I want to see perfection I would come back to this video!
Such an under rated gymnast!
i am always come back here to see the best!
This is my gymnast coach :)
really? you learn at Celestina Popa Gymnastics?
brianna chenier where are you?
Omg celi is my coach too!
@brianna chenier do she have the same perm?
@@HotMessMemories1 she has naturally curly hair. She’s also my coach

weren’t they’re already 2 Romanian’s or in the floor final? at that time only 2 gymnasts per country could compete in an event final.
@@gymcentric5727Nope. Silivaş was the only Romanian to make floor finals.
Cea mai frumoasă și elegantă generație de gimnaste din România! Grație și stil!
My Dream Team!☀️🏅
she's so amazing. She used to be my gymnastics coach :)
Gosto muito do desempenho desta ginasta. Perfeita.
The leotards were so nice back then.
I loved this Romanian team! I think Dobre and Silivas's body line and form rubbed off on the rest of the team!
@spartyutube please! They were not scissor sisters.
@@HotMessMemories1 ??
spartyutube there was nothin sexual going on between these teammates. Plus it was Dobre not Silivas that posed nude for a playboy.

Very very nice!!!trivia:the haircuts the romanian girls had at those olympics are all time classics.just out of this world.
@djprojectus It's the 360 straddle jump that she does at 0:28
Gorgeous extension
After all these years and watching this now, I actually like this better than Silivas'. The Romanian are so prepared for 87-88 season.
oh..so all the split falls etc which Biles, Katelyn Ohashi do are from the legend Celestina!!
Amazing! Love the routine
first of all...beautiful double pike
and now ...why everyone says that dobre was most flexibile girl in seoul...i im pritty much sure that popa is

@lovepandas thak you
Excellent dancing and flexibility. Split legs in the flic-flacs though.
Great routine.
what did she get? that was near 10 I'm assuming
Isnt that a bit reminicent of Nadia @ 00:42-00:43 ?????
It's hard to appear relaxed when you have to cram 5 passes into a 90 second routine.
i met her i see her every monday
how did the Romanians went from being graceful to being complete automatons?
Shes my coach!
I feel like this beautiful gymnast with fantastic extension and choreography deserved better music. This would have been even better with more appropriate music.
She is my coach
THAT you can call a 'POPA'
popa is her last name
Celestina is her first name.
Uh she was my gymnastics coach
is it just me or does she look like an auburn haired Nadia?
@markedexclusive maybe cuz it was dreadfully easy

Back tumbling is kind of whippy. She doesn't seem to set properly.
Your head is "whippy"! Inhale and exhale hater!
It's funny, but she doesn't do the Popa as well as Ponor. Maybe they should rename the skill... :)
