The Megas - The Quick and The Blue (enhanced edition)

- Back in 2013, Capcom asked us to be a part of a compilation album for Mega Man's 25th anniversary. Of course, we were honored to be involved!
We re-recorded 2 of our tracks from Get Equipped with the addition of Brian on synths to bring these tracks more in line with what we were doing on the History Repeating albums, and they turned out pretty awesome.
Previously only available on the MM25: Mega Man Rocks compilation, here is the enhanced edition of The Quick and The Blue!
Also available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Music and pretty much all those other streaming services. Enjoy!

Your speed means nothing if it's death that you're running from.
The best part about it is that Josh is using his deeper singing voice, which he mainly used in the History Repeating albums. The first time I heard History Repeating songs, I thought there was a different lead singer to that of Get Equipped. It's good to hear Rev Breeding use his current singing voice in these classic songs!
I'd honestly have to say the acoustic version of this song in particular is even better because it amplifies the Western feel so much more, making it feel like a duel in the Wild West.
This song actually got me to look into The Megas. I'm a big fan of The Protomen, picked up MM25 since they had a new single on it and was completely blown away by this and Man On Fire though and got into The Megas just in time for History Repeating: Red.
I see you were lucky to know of the wonders of both bands too.
I found the Protomen just before their Act III single This City Made Us came out. Well, a couple years earlier, but...
Well, welcome to the fandom!
I just love what The Megas did with the MM2 robot masters! Non of them are sane from Heatman thinking he’s in hell and talks to the corpses, with Flashman being a creepy stalker, Airman literally want to destroy everything, Bubbleman’s chronic depression, Metalman sees his fight with Megaman as nothing more then a game, Quickman is so delusional that thinks he’s the sheriff in an old Wild West town! The only semi sane ones are Crashman who still wants to die to beat Wily and Woodman who simply wants revenge for what Megaman did to his brothers
@Rotom Channel Actually, the last one in the Get Equipped Album I think was Crashman.
This song pisses me off so much.
It's about a video game Australian robot version of the flash turned into a cowboy, and it is one of the best written songs I've ever heard.
Why is it so good? It's about a freaking video game boss, WHY IS IT SO GOOD?
Quick Man is Australian?
@@osmondfar2 If you turn your monitor upside down it's practically the same thing as being Australian
@Renato Alfonso Paredes Sepúlveda Ohhhhhh lmao
What's wrong with good music being based on video games?
@@gravitrax6478 It isn't the video game part.
It is so many things combined that sound weird but works
This was always my favorite Megas song and this version totally knocked it out of the fucking park. Amazing rendition of an amazing song.
digi holic couldn't have said it better! HYPE for new versions! :D
digi holic agree, this amazing!
The music rocks, but I prefer the vocals of the original.
IMO, it's their masterpiece.
(So far. We haven't seen the last of these guys, methinks).
I really like this version of The Quick and the Blue. I always like to imagine a crackle of a record playing during the very start, when the trumpet plays.
Oh my god! This was my jam back in the day, this recording was freaking exhilarating! I literally couldn't contain the build-up and broke into a full-out drum solo at work!
I'll never stop coming back to listen to this song. It's just such a banger.
I approve
You approve a song about you getting murdered.
Okay.
@@seemo5789 still makes him look like a bad ass
@@seemo5789 It's ok, there is clearly more than 1 Quickman or he can be repaired, how else would it be possible to have a refight?
@@TheJadeFist According to Powered Up, hard light holograms. But the robot masters are repaired and (if built by Wily) asigned a function after the events of the games.
Of course you do, and i thought FireMan was the cool sheriff
11 seconds in, chills. Thanks for making music, guys.
same. I think there's some subaudible tones going on
i was clenching my fists, doing an imaginary megaman 8 bit running across the screen thing while sitting in my chair. MegaMan Never Stops! i fucking love this band!
Listening to this immedatley takes me back to my freshman year of High School, where I would listen to this, and other megas songs on the bus to school in the morning
I'm glad I'm not the only one lol
Moral of the story: never bring boomerangs to a gun fight.
They say he appeared in a doorway
Boomerangs at his sides
The fate that he would defy...
A mega man is coming to die!
Wait now, there's too much at stake now
There he goes...
He looked to the distance and cried
"The man in blue has arrived!"
Quick on the draw
In this town, I am the law
Is what they say true?
Does death wear blue?
Can he fall?
It was then
That the crowd saw the quick man
He knew that he couldn't tell them
He was the quickest of all...
Would this be the day that he falls?
Wait now, there's too much at stake now
A cold wind blows...
He looked at the crowd and he cried
"The moment of truth has arrived!"
Quick on the draw
In this town, I am the law
Is what they say true?
Does death wear blue?
Can he fall?
My circuits slow
I'm not scared anymore
I see the faces of my brothers that have fallen before
My circuits slow
I'm not scared anymore
Reach for my weapon and in turn you're reaching for yours
My circuits slow
What they said is a lie
The shots are heard and the bullets scream death as they fly
My circuits slow
I'm not scared anymore
This is the moment that we have been created for
My circuits slow
My moment has come
Your speed means nothing if it's death that you're running from
My circuits slow
I'm not scared anymore
I join the ranks of my brothers that have fallen before
You're too quick on the draw...
Burn this town - there is no law
What they say's true -
Death does wear blue
He can't fall...
Thank you for the lyrics

Man, I'd kill for a remaster of Message from Dr. Light like this.
THEYRE BACK
YASSSSSSS
Crow Riolu LET US FEAST AND REJOICE
***** Buddy, listen. Don't listen to all of the music yet. You need to pace yourself so A) your brain doesn't die from amazing music and B) you always have something cool to check out later.
You could say that you Can't Stop the Top!
this is my favorite Megas song, and this re-recorded version is amazing!
Why am I only just finding out 'enhanced editions' were a thing? This is kind of incredible, holy damn!
For a long time they were only on the MM25 compilation - finally decided to make the effort to get them out to everyone!
will you guys do this to the rest of the get equipped songs? and when are you guys gonna do songs for Gutsman,Cutman
The Megas can't wait to see you guys at magfest again!
Death DOES wear blue : O
What are the chances of us getting the rest of the album done like this? It's fucking epic and i want to hear metal dance in this style.
Okay, I'm really loving this new version
You popped up in my recommended one day a few years back and I haven't been the same since, you all are just so amazing and talented.
I love this. Such a great addition to the franchise, without the music it wouldn't be the same.
Love this version guys, almost as good as the acoustic.
So, Quick Man is weak to the Time Stopper, Flash Man's weapon. "My circuits slow" might be a line referring to this. Makes sense, since Quick Man is the only robot master that takes damage from Time Stopper. This ALSO raises the question; why didn't Wily keep working on the thing that could STOP TIME?
Wily was hoping that Megaman would be destroyed in stopped time. Quickman’s body moves so fast that his body can’t cope with the sudden stop
Love this version! It cleans up a lot of weird dissonant bits I always thought I heard in the original version.
I'd love to see a full enhanced version of Get Equipped, but I realize that would be a lot of work, and I'm sure you have plans for other projects already going (maybe that MMX album you occasionally mention, maybe digging up more Belmonts tracks buried in graveyards, whatever)
This is the first Megas song I heard. It will forever be in my heart. 💙
The opening is so goddamn beautiful..
I love this version a lot. It's intense and thrilling and, well, quick!
This is amazing
Hello me from Dimension 33906. How are you today?
Ah Frick he's Gone Again. I wonder What I have to do?
Wasn't this on the MM25 Megaman Rocks Anniversary album? The Album sorta disappeared from Spotify, is this why?
This was always my favorite song they made
Guys when are y'all uploading Man on Fire and this to Spotify? I NEED it!!!
I Love this new version. Its Awesome, and fast paced like it should be. :D
Much better Version that the one on Spotify
Q_Q
*prays the rest of Get Equipped gets this treatment at some point*
I'd rather see accoustic versions of history repeating
Why not both? :D
Ahh this is great!
This song will be a year old Tomorrow
5 years later and it still ain't on Spotify tho ; ;
A little too quick for my tastes.
But seriously, this is the swaggiest remix for Quick Man I've seen in my life.
I understand that it can be a genuine criticism but did you just say a song for quick man is too fast
@@flame_warp lmao nah I said it as a very blatant pun. I don't even think I thought about it being a criticism given the song being about Quick Man that long ago. Then again, I didn't expect anyone to notice, either, and uhh...
AAAAAAAAAH I love it its amazing
If a new Megaman movie is ever made, this is how the Quick Man fight should go down.
really great honestly! the only sucky thing is that the enhanced editions of the song's aren't available on spotify, only the regular ones.
Nice!~
wOAH IM LATE. This sounds amazing~!
Hey I gotta say, I love the music on all you folks have done. I gotta ask, this song has some *MAJOR* System of a Down vibes, was that intentional?
It's Texas Blue!
All the robots knew, this handsome r(anger)obot was about to meet his death...
THE TWO DISLIKES WERE MY FRIENDS AFTER I BRAGGED ABOUT IT BEING TOO GOOD TO BE DISLIKED (THEY LIKE YOUR MUSIC)
ya boy umbrella I don't know if they're awesome or terrible. Prolly both.
they're horrible people for disliking
LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE
+CBL Your friends are most definitely going to the innermost circles of Hell.
circle of traitors. Being slashed and crushed by Satan himself
YES! This sounds amazing! That weird stutter in the original version always bothered me.
Eh, I prefer the original vocals. This insturmentation is great though
CIRCUITS SLOOOOOW
song-revisit that needs a hardcopy single release. I'd buy it...
FUCKING YES
Me: . . . . . . . YES! :D
I would love to hear, aqua man and grande man from megaman 8, because I would love to hear how you guys handle some rock mixed with techno
Tho I know both those songs don't have really much any techo, more like Denny's for Aquaman. Lol
The V A P E that he would defy
the virgin *Big Iron* vs. the chad *The Quick and the Blue*
That Kirby-like startup... Love it!
Gotta say, the instrumental work is awesome, tho I find the vocals somewhat lacking. As if they would fit better with another type of song...
But well, if there was a instrumental version of this song (I mean with this particular arrangement), I’d def hear it all day long.
Que sad pobre Quick man :c
Quick man
Brought boomerangs to a gun fight…..
Play at 1.25 speed.
Thank me later.
UA-cam recently added a Custom speed setting, so now 1.15 can be done. I prefer it to 1.25 personally for this song, but then I'm biased in favour of my own opinions. It do be like that sometimes.
As a headphones user, please don't put the audio of one singer in one ear and the other in the other, with no fade. It feels weird.
NesQuickMan
i actually prefer the first version, if only because the delivery was way better on the ending lines.
they also removed the "wait, now" so there's nothing to rhyme with "at stake, now"
i know this is nitpicks but the little touches are important
Personally, I kind of hate these enhanced versions. They just seem like a bunch of tech effects were applied, and they don't sound all that good compared to the originals.
In my opinion, this is an inferior version. It doesn't sound right.
My name is Hol Ho... oh wait, wrong video...
*cough*
Quickman: My name is Quickman... and I'm here to...
Megaman: Hi, Mr. Quickman.
Quickman: and I'm here to...
Megaman: I know why you're here for... You're a *Wily's robot, here to kill me and my friends*
Quickman: How did you knew that?.
Megaman: Why, you have a lifting door, of course, *only villains get lifting doors*. How much Wily pays you for having lifting doors?Huh.
Quickman: Hey, Wily doesn't work that much!.
Megaman: Also, how are you going to kill me?
Quickman: With, this cannon?... probably?
Megaman: What does it shoots?... *Wily's Money?*
Quickman: Bumerangs more likely... *Shoots boomerang and goes off-hand*
Quickman: Whoops *Flying boomerang hits plane and plane crashes in Light's lab*
...
Light: No plane crash can kill Thomas Light...
I see what you did there :^)
SmileyTrashbag Quick man Megaman konbi!
Vocals seem muddy. I don't like it as much as the original.
