I was listening to the album and I love the intro. I thought, I wonder if there is a longer version of this goodness, well I found it. Glad this exists!
I love how around 2:45 it adopts the same tempo and riff as 'Pirate Jet', like a classical motif. This would've been soooo cool to have on the album...but I do love how quickly you get to the title track.
I didn't care too much for The Fall, although i did like a few tracks from it (Revolving Doors, Bobby in Phoenix). But having been listening to Gorillaz since the beginning, i have to say just about every single track they've done is good, if not simply great. Plastic Beach is my favorite hands down. Gorillaz just got better, album by album.
M1Garandstudios I'd say Plastic Beach is one of the greatest albums ever released PERIOD. Demon Days just doesn't quite get the feel of Gorillaz, it feels more like a Damon Albarn special. Plastic Beach and Humanz both feel more like Gorillaz than Demon Days.
I think every album have a chapter, the first was like more urban, Russel at all, rap and streets, Demon Days was like cartoon music a bit scary, Noodle at all, haunted kong studios and "satanic murdoc's stuff", was like the climax of the Gorillaz story (not the best part, just like a high) Plastic Beach was like the relaxing point of that climax, more professional about the music and animations, more premeditated work, murdoc at all, islands, ecology and Murdoc's weird stuff, the fall 2D at all
Looking back post-Humanz, I'm curious to see how people think Humanz fits into all of this. I believe it's a culmination of all of their ideas and themes, or perhaps a finale where they all input equally. I have also seen it said that this is Russels album mostly, and that it is a cycle.
Ive listened to this song so many times when im stoned.. it never gets old.. I just imagine me with some friends commanding a pirate ship, traveling through the ocean.. somedays are rainy some days are nice, and we are just beings looking for land in this mysterious world.. good times
I believe that this song in the end makes a connection to Pirate Jet. Listen to the drum roll in the end of the song..connect it with pirate jet and you got yourself a 6;46 epic song!
@Cartoonbom it IS indeed elegant, moody, and less catchy, but thats what makes it beautiful. Albarn and Hewlett wanted it to be different; strange. They wanted something new that the fans of gorillaz wouldn't understand, but its magnificent and a great masterpiece.
@Ambulanceo it is a bonus on the japanese version of the experience edition. their experience edition also includes stickers and a poster. lucky bastards! (no offense)
This was supposed to be the Intro to Plastic Beach but the record label made Damon shorten it to a minute long making it a shadow of its former self, also it's called Pirate's Progress Because it was the complete opposite of Pirate Jet.
@@cubic6790 wow I forgot i made this comment, I think what I was saying was that Pirate's Progress was supposed to open the album while Pirate's Jet closed the album, I don't even know what I was talking about, that's what I get for posting comments at 3 am, sorry
@gpoop23 you can convert all mp4 songs on itunes into mp3 songs inside of itunes. Go to Preferences>General>Import Settings> and then pick the format that you want. Then on any song you can right click it and convert it to that type. for example if you chose MP3 it'll say "Create MP3 version."
You know how songs have like a sort of feel to them? Well this one is giving me forward motions vibes, like no acceleration.. Just chugging along and I love it.. I love this song! That's all I wanted to say now bye bye
beautiful symphony..just fucking beautiful..this track deserves to be on the HUBBLE 3d IMAX documentary..or on whatever BBC and discovery do next...in scenes of epic coreagraphy..especially the beginning of the track..it's just spell-binding!
@CodeNameX001 I feel the same way. The fact that it can even be compared to Rhapsody in Blue is a sign that it's amazing. This is way better than any of the stuff that's on Plastic Beach. it's a shame that this could only be a bonus track (though I understand why).
I'm pretty sure we got cheaped out with this song and got the orchestral intro song at the begging of the album. the version we got ended at about 0:50
@jeremypr also, keep in mind this song was only released in the japanese album and itunes. Soooo, a lot of people, especially the ones who only torrent, probably don't know about the song. So sad
@Qalissa7 i think the experience edition is the one you buy in the shops which doesn't come with this song, if you bought the delux edition off itunes then you should have got this.
@jeremypr a reason so few viewed this video is because when I wiwkipediad the album it only had tracks 1-16 on there so I then DL-ed all the 16 song and just now I found with track 17
@whatsnextgorillaz Well, it also has to do with the fact that this only comes from one edition of the album, therefore a lot of people - even Gorillaz fans and people who own a different edition of the album - don't know this song exists.
@PACMANISBEHINDYOU "Orchestral Intro" ORCHESTRAL It's sounds a bit like a classical song because of the instrumentation. But I can totally understand your opinion for not liking it. That's probably why they didn't include it on the regular version of this album. I really wanted to buy this album on iTunes, but my MP3 player doesn't play mpg4 files.
Honestly I feel like Plastic Beach and Demon Days are produced equally and are both fantastic albums and whichever one you prefer entirely depends on which asthetic you prefer. Techno pirate or sci fi horror. I prefer plastic beach
It follows Pirate Jet, so its refrain of the tune. Probably won't sound so weird when they're together. I feel a little cheated that the deluxe edition is clearly the proper version, with the outro matching the intro. Its clearly the body of work as it was intended.
This song reminds me of driving down a highway at sunrise, heading to the city.... Perhaps I'm just pulling similarities to "Rhapsody in Blue", but that's not quite a bad thing....
Sea Sides wasn’t as cool as the actual released stuff but definitely a necessary listen. Half of it is just Damon’s opera music ideas that detracted too much from gorillaz, but others are actually cool demos like Broken with Hypnotic Brass or Glitter Freeze Alt Ver or 2D’s ver of Cloud of Unknowing.
This song has been stuck in my head for the past week.
is that really a bad thing though?
I was listening to the album and I love the intro. I thought, I wonder if there is a longer version of this goodness, well I found it. Glad this exists!
plastic beach is the best album of gorillaz
estoy de acuerdo
all albumz have unic best something, this got the best feeling of "alone one a island, at the point némo"
all albums are the best
One of the best.
It really is, it just makes me feel better when I’m sad
This sounds like it could be in a movie.
because every song sounds like it could be in a movie lmao
@@milk-ub9zo I think they meant that it sounded like a professional quality soundtrack that would fit a certain scene in a movie
Hopefully the Gorillaz movie
@@violentbadger9317 they need to make one or i will not die peacfully

Revolving doors, Hillbilly man, aspen forest, and snake in dallas are amazing
Wyatt Cabel And Little Pink Plastic Bags
And Amarillo
Y'all are forgetting about the true underrated gem: Seattle Yodel.
Only song I don’t like from Gorillaz is sweepstakes imo
I really hope gorillaz make more albums
i miss them already :(
me too
Did you find the new stuff good?
omg 10 years ahohhh
I think that Plastic Beach is as amazing as Demon Days was. It could even be better but people just seem to not uderstand it.
I would say I love Plastic Beach just as much as Demon Days, I love the setting and the music is amazing too!

Noah S Gorillaz moves as the society does.
What does "at all" mean

Reminds me of 2001 a space odyssey
Exactly :D
gorillaz are so incredible they have classical music its awesome man
this reminds me of a part in a movie where the main character realizes stuff and like everything goes in slow motion idk if u feel me but yea
shut up!
awesome its a great orchestra the album is pure genius and you can always expect this from damon albarn cant wait for blurs revival!!!
Just one more album... that's all I ask for...
I got good news.
+Jack Nixon :'D
Worth waiting :]
well, not THAT good
it was an ok album in comparison to this one (or any other they've made)
nah fam its good (not as good as plastic beach, but really good)
Great song, I love it
i didnt care for the fall so much but every gorillaz album is amazing
except Humanz lmao that album was okay but not amazing.
Every other album? D-sides japanese version is knocking hard on your door
I can SO imagine this in a BioShock game!! the 0:49 and on part magnificiently captures the feel of Rapture!
Yes
this sounds so niceee uGHGHGG
gorillaz just got his own kind of music style...
epic!
@Cartoonbom it IS indeed elegant, moody, and less catchy, but thats what makes it beautiful. Albarn and Hewlett wanted it to be different; strange. They wanted something new that the fans of gorillaz wouldn't understand, but its magnificent and a great masterpiece.
@MrCalhoun That scratching is present in all release versions of the track, probably there intentionally
@WhatDoesTheJStandFor absolutely. best band ever imo
i can´t believe gorillaz had done this...
it´s amazing :'D
I'm literally speechless. Damon you fuckin genius.
This song is like a dream ...
The beginning is simply amazing.
heard this at birmingham, even though on the setlist it said orchestral intro!
Yeah, this is the full version of that song
Just found out and ohh, this is so beautiful...
@Ambulanceo it is a bonus on the japanese version of the experience edition. their experience edition also includes stickers and a poster. lucky bastards! (no offense)
Full version of Orchestral Intro?

@WhatDoesTheJStandFor its great 2 see another Gorillaz-die-hard-fan!
This. High. It's twice as amazing.
delightful :)
It reminds me to the Yellow Submarine OST. But with a classical thing (as Gershwin, in the end)
I have the White Flag single vinyl and this one is on the b-side, it's really beautiful!
@thest0rmyblu They're releasing a one off single next month to tag-along side the release of their line of converse shoes =]...I can't wait

This song is like a intro from a movie of Disney :v
This should be in the album, or in a movie
This track is top stuff. It does sound a bit soundtrackish, but still very good.

My Fave part of the hole song is 2;45 - 3:42 ^_^
same here
@thethreeofusaredying
I think they were trying to emulate the sound of the phonograph
It follows Pirate Jet, so its refrain of the tune.
Probably won't sound so weird when they're together.
I feel a little cheated that the deluxe edition is clearly the proper version, with the outro matching the intro. Its clearly the body of work as it was intended.
When they make a movie this will be the song to start it or end it all
@RevolverXoX If it makes you feel any better, I don't think the Deluxe version has the DVD.
This and Pirate Jet were originally mashed together and referred to as just Pirate Jet.
cool^^
The deluxe edition has one more track, Three Hearts, 7 Seas, Twelve Moons.
@RevolverXoX That's cause this was a bonus track that you only would have gotten if you had the delux version.
@melodyflo The japanese only get this song, theres a worldwide release of a deluxe edition that has this and another song.
@TheKontosuburbian It's only 1:07. Can't you tell when it transitions?
@TheKontosuburbian ye it is :)
Anyway, you might check for that little scratching which I heard in the track.
@jeremypr well, 36,181 people viewed it, that's 11,000 more from 4 months ago. Thats "progress" lolz.
this song is tight as hell when your high
bajs i realy like this one
I bought the experience edition.
How come i didn't get this? ): Amazing
I mever knew there was extended version 😢
It could be part of the track cause it's on all of the other youtube videos of this song also.
what's with the cuts in the audio? :( appart from that it's really magical
plastic beach is the best album i've ever bought. im being serious. the 21st century White Album..
I wish the rest of Plastic Beach was as moving as this
@thest0rmyblu i have no memory posting that. actual. disregard lol :D
This song reminds me of driving down a highway at sunrise, heading to the city....
Perhaps I'm just pulling similarities to "Rhapsody in Blue", but that's not quite a bad thing....
so this song is basically extended orchestral outro then?
uhh, the Japanese get everything. How come America doesn't get all these awesome bonus tracks!
this was on the white flag vinyl you could’ve got it
To me, it sounds like Gustav Holst's the Planets. Possibly Neptune. Halfway in this, it kind of reminds me of the Beatles.
that fucking annoying scratch in the left channel is in this version too..? damn
@thest0rmyblu I feel you :'(
@WhatDoesTheJStandFor of course every gorillaz album is amazing! but demon days is the best album :) xxx
@MrShagnasty23 it was. very.
Is this on the physical experience edition or just the itunes version?
@whatsnextgorillaz True....... =(
is there any other secret songs on the plastic beach experience page?
this song sounds familiar...
of course, the music of my dreams :)

@KnIghTOfCyDoniAz4 yeah but the stickers can't compete with banana stickers
just search for gorillaz fonts on google..
It's like what the Beatles did with Abbey Road, where they put it all together to be a big medley.
