    Hi Dolce thank you so very much for showing us how you wrap your hair. I loved watching. I will try this. I enjoy your videos cause what I see is that you grew your hair so long without all the protective styles. It’s good to enjoy the fruits of your works. Your hair is beautiful. Thanks again 😊

    DOLCE!! DOLCE!! Long time no see!! Your hair looks so full and even more beautiful these days.
    I ran into a few hiccups last fall, so what I did was start over back to neck length, and then I temporarily went ombre red head using clairols.
    It's a miracle I even have hair on my head at this point from touch ups and coloring 😂😂, but when you're experienced, the smarter and stronger you are with your hair.
    Then I got tired of the red and made the attempt go back to my high school blonde look (little did I know how stubborn red hair is, trying to get rid of it). So then I ran into another malfunction which ended up being a blessing and brought me right back to brunette. Lately I've been walking around with my protective style (cornrows on each side of my head with my straight hair in the form of a Mohawk going down the middle). Lots of people in public LOVE it and it feels like a style from the 80s.
    So that's my update. I've had to ask God for a lot of "hair forgiveness" so he can let me continue my journey 😂🤣 but it's all coming back!!

      JULION! How are you?! Yes, it’s been awhile, but so glad you’re checking in! 👍🏾
      Yes, red (and black) are very stubborn when it comes to removing them from the hair. But I love to hear about your color journey and how it brought you back to brown and even a Mohawk- WOW! Sounds dope!
      Yes, God will forgive all… even your hair mistakes. (Ain’t God good? All the time! 😂) So we’re all going to touch and agree that your breakthrough comeback is right around the corner. Amen? AMEN! 💁🏾‍♀️🙏🏾😉

    I wish more people would see this video. I’ve been wrapping my hair since the 90s. We really learned how to preserve our styles without heat back in the day.
    There’s really no need to do that whole daily “moisturizing and sealing” routine when you wrap your hair at night. Like you said, it helps to distribute our hair’s natural moisturizer (sebum).
    I’ve noticed that it also keeps my roots smooth when I’m getting close to my retouch appointment (every 12 weeks).

    • @DolceDawn
      @DolceDawn  4 місяці тому

      Hey, Michelle! I have to agree that wrapping really has helped me not only preserve my style and keep in moisturized throughout the week, but has helped to flatten and smooth my roots to make them more manageable until retouch. It’s a win all around!

    I wear wigs a lot because I sell wefted hair extensions and wigs. Since I don’t really know how to style my pixie cut, I decided to wrap my pixie every time a wash it. I only have styled when I go to the salon to have it relaxed. I have medium-textured relaxed hair, so it does not take many products to make my hair to” do what it do!”

    • @DolceDawn

      Hey, Ms Ms! You’re right - it IS a style as well. I believe they call it a “doobie” and Rihanna famously wore it with bobby pins to an award show/event some years back.

    • @DolceDawn
      @DolceDawn  5 місяців тому

      Hey, Marlen! Thank you! 🤗 I believe I mentioned in this video how I keep moisture in my hair by using a serum (very helpful!) and wrapping it at night (super helpful!), which helps distribute oils throughout the hair. Using moisturizing shampoos and a good leave-in conditioner help tremendously as well. Also, I have a video from my Building Your Regimen series that lists good moisturizers both naturals and relaxed gals can use that you may find helpful. But using the right products - and practices - is key! 💁🏾‍♀️👍🏾

      Hey, Donnetta! Besides the traditional Durags, I wasn’t able to find something comparable to the “U” scarf online, which I bought years ago at a local BSS, and a wide-tooth comb can be found just about anywhere, BUT I did list a link to the Evolve scarf I used in the description box, if interested.
