I am interested in this lifestyle I have been using as least plastic as possible but I am 13 and no one else in my house is zero waste right now... So I am trying my best. Thank you for your help and encouragement. ❤️
I looked up the bulk shop website and they say that they will weight your containers and you fill into them. Maybe they changed over the few days since you were there! You go girl x
Ahh! It doesn't surprise me that they gave you trouble- most places around me that I can purchase bulk are in regular chain groceries and they don't let you use your own package either! The only place I have found is Whole Foods, which at least use paper bags that I can compost. I wish my area would get a true bulk store that would let me use my containers!
Yes, I explained to them why I was using my own container (they offered me either a plastic container or plastic bag). Having these conversations helps spread the message and hopefully they'll take it on board and buy a scale!
Hopefully! I guess by buying in bulk they mean buying a large amount, as opposed to buying zero waste. Took me a second to realise that is what they meant by 'bulk'. Hopefully they let you use your own container in the end?
Again, a very nice video! I love watching you walking through London ☺️You show us so many beautiful and nice places i want to check out at my next visit!
Cute vlog! I've been cutting down on waste a lot this last year and going to do my own zero waste month when I'm back off holiday to keep me going in that direction. Haven't been to the Hackney Vegan market either will check it out next time I'm down! xxx
Yeah, I explained this to them. They didn't seem to understand the concept of zero waste and offered to give me a plastic bag instead if I didn't want to use their plastic containers! These conversations are always good to have, though, and spread the message. It seems they've jumped on the bulk trend without realising how it started or why.
Eventually I asked them if they had a paper bag (which they did... but didn't offer me until I asked). They weighted it, I poured it back into my jar and asked them to reuse the paper bag. It was the best I could do... and hopefully they'll buy a scale to weigh jars with soon!

All of your vlogs make me want to live in London so badly! So many bulk shops and vegan places and things happening. Loved it as always xx

Love your videos! They are probably the only vlogs I can get through entirely! Fantastic music as well.
a bulk store that didn't let you use your own containers? what? xD that seems really weird!!

Those pastries looked incredible! Would you say the market has improved? It looked pretty good, spotted Temple of seitan too- yum!
I LOVE Temple, I'm so sad I don't live in London any more just for that
Omg that bulk shop looks soooooo good
Can't wait to hear the whole story on the bulk buying place! :S So strange!

A bulkstore that provides plastic containers... Isn't that defeating the whole purpose? Bizarre. Nice video! (('m a new subscriber)

It is kind of funny. And a bit sad too. Did they let you use your own container in the end?

I hope so too. And hopefully it made them more aware and reconsider their policy. But it doesn't sound very promising ;)
Hi sophie ! I love your videos, I was wondering if you could make a video on zero waste pet supplies as I know you have a kitty. Thanks
Great video! Can't wait for my next trip to London to check out the vegan market in Hackney. Where was the bulk store located?
