I did. I listen to you til the end. I said...He didn't sing daddy's verse. That he would sing out loud. "IF THE LORD DON'T HELP ME...I CAN'T STAND THE STORM...IF THE LORD DON'T HELP MEEEE...I CAN'T STAND THE STORM'!! My friend said...that's a "War Cry". Well the Lord saw that daddy couldn't stand the storm anymore. As He called my daddy home...January 6,2020. As me,my mother,his wife of 64yrs of marriage,my lil brother. With other family & friends there. I will always cherish the memories I had with my father. Being his only & oldest girl at 63. NO MORE ALZHEIMER'S PAIN OF THE MIND & BODY DADDY!!

I was raised going baptist church. I love old hymns. But some how I love love love black gospel hymns most. I can feel presents in lord Jesus. I have always dreamed of going old black baptist church. I am sorry white baptist is so boring. I remembered my mom telling me in her days she could them sing she loved it. I have tried quite few different type of churches. These are the types of songs that invited Jesus to come into our hearts and to removed all of the anger and doubt of our lives knowing that God is in control of the whole world and not we ourselves. I thank God for reminding us that God is still in control and not man or woman.
June 8 2023 I woke up at 4:30 this morning and went to UA-cam and this music just came on . As I listened to Mr. Marvin sing those old song we called it lining hymns where I come from in Alabama. The Baptist Church meet on the first and third Sundays . The Methodist church met on second and fourth Sunday’s. Oh my God did we have church. The clicking of the shoe heels on the floor kept the rhythm doing the prayer time. No body played no music doing prayer time. The memories flowing in my mind about sister on mourning bench on Sunday morning. Thank you my brother for bringing by those memories. Be Blessed❤

Wow! I love this! It reminds me of when I was a kid growing up. At our Baptist church in Gadsden, Alabama. One or two deacons or church members would holler out, "Yes Sir! Yes Sir!" People didn't have much back then but our church was always packed. It was a large church n there were three choirs. My dad was lead singer n president of the Senoir Choir (the main choir). Matthew Knowles mom sang with choir number two. It was an amazing service every Sunday! GOD BLESS Y'ALL BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

The praise was different way back because the circumstances were different. That furnace of affliction is no joke. Remember what He told Paul? His grace was sufficient, and HIS strength was made PERFECT in weakness. Some of the folks who've passed on went thru some heavy STUFF, and sometimes all they could do was just HUM this stuff. But oh boy, we know that the Spirit maketh intercession with even those groanings. The Father heard all of it in the name of this Son. 🙌🏾 JESUS! There was power in that worship because they "soul'd out" for the LORD. Our time is coming up here shortly. His bride SHALL be made clean through trial, tribulation, and affliction. But GLORY to God for what's on the other side!!
In my head, I could see my old church sanctuary and I hear the heels tappin' on that old wood floor of the church - the mothers' of the church sitting on the front row dressed in all white, folks moanin, holding themselves, rocking back and forth, faces pointed towards the heavens, singing from a place that only God knew. That was DEVOTION!!!!

In the 90's as a kid we use to live near a Baptist church and when we played in backyard we could hear hymns like this and stop to listen. It was so beautiful and gave peace even tho u can hear throughout whole neighborhood.

I was raised going baptist church. I love old hymns.
But some how I love love love black gospel hymns most. I can feel presents in lord Jesus. I have always dreamed of going old black baptist church. I am sorry white baptist is so boring. I remembered my mom telling me in her days she could them sing she loved it. I have tried quite few different type of churches. I still haven't found where to go. I so want to go to old fashion black baptist church ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏❤️
This is the best. Church like is was then and should be now. Theses songs saved mt life growing up in Chicago. From Englewood to Auburn Gresham. N moving up like the Jefferson the same playing field. Thanks GOD we made it. I still sing theses songs when ever I get a chance.
These are the types of songs that invited Jesus to come into our hearts and to removed all of the anger and doubt of our lives knowing that God is in control of the whole world and not we ourselves. I thank God for reminding us that God is still in control and not man or woman.

I woke up at 4:30 this morning and went to UA-cam and this music just came on . As I listened to Mr. Marvin sing those old song we called it lining hymns where I come from in Alabama. The Baptist Church meet on the first and third Sundays . The Methodist church met on second and fourth Sunday’s. Oh my God did we have church. The clicking of the shoe heels on the floor kept the rhythm doing the prayer time. No body played no music doing prayer time. The memories flowing in my mind about sister on mourning bench on Sunday morning. Thank you my brother for bringing by those memories. Be Blessed❤

Amen Deacon. My great-grandmother used to sing and pray while walking our neighborhood with the Bible in one hand and oil and white scarf in the other. At the age of 6 after I was baptized she took me for her walks. Now at the 21 years later I'm an Elder, doing the same exact thing.

The fact that I just played my drums to this and matched the tempo the entire time means a lot to the me. That’s the type of church we used to have when I was younger and I wish that we would get back to that during these trying times we are facing.

Wow! I love this! It reminds me of when I was a kid growing up. At our Baptist church in Gadsden, Alabama. One or two deacons or church members would holler out, "Yes Sir! Yes Sir!" People didn't have much back then but our church was always packed. It was a large church n there were three choirs. My dad was lead singer n president of the Senoir Choir (the main choir). Matthew Knowles mom sang with choir number two. It was an amazing service every Sunday! GOD BLESS Y'ALL BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

These hyms were also used as code songs to inform each other ( slaves) of a plan to escape ( run away slaves). We need these hyms back into our churches. Spiritual Foundation.

The praise was different way back because the circumstances were different. That furnace of affliction is no joke. Remember what He told Paul? His grace was sufficient, and HIS strength was made PERFECT in weakness. Some of the folks who've passed on went thru some heavy STUFF, and sometimes all they could do was just HUM this stuff. But oh boy, we know that the Spirit maketh intercession with even those groanings. The Father heard all of it in the name of this Son. 🙌🏾 JESUS! There was power in that worship because they "soul'd out" for the LORD. Our time is coming up here shortly. His bride SHALL be made clean through trial, tribulation, and affliction. But GLORY to God for what's on the other side!!

In my head, I could see my old church sanctuary and I hear the heels tappin' on that old wood floor of the church - the mothers' of the church sitting on the front row dressed in all white, folks moanin, holding themselves, rocking back and forth, faces pointed towards the heavens, singing from a place that only God knew. That was DEVOTION!!!!

In the 90's as a kid we use to live near a Baptist church and when we played in backyard we could hear hymns like this and stop to listen. It was so beautiful and gave peace even tho u can hear throughout whole neighborhood.
