Let's see how this could be lore friendly(as close as I can get it): EDIT: I tried to make it smoother to read. Dol amoroth and gondor have a sort of civil war.Dol amoroth takes to the sea and captures cair andros. They are able to convince/ bribe harad to send over forces to help out in the war for exchange for spoils and land. The dwarves decide to join with Dol amoroth early on. Gondor has asked the newly formed Arnor to support them because of past support and treaties to honor the old. Arnor has beaten gundabad and taken over their lands. They allow some orcs to form up an army and take them into battle to lessen their own casualties. Orcs of the misty mountains hear news of the war and decide to team up with dol amoroth thinking that they will have the greatest profit, due to them being able to take one of their main towns. Dol amoroth splits up the dwarves and the orcs, mostly,to the other sides of cair andros to stop infighting. Finally Gondor makes a similar deal with rhun to support them in this war. That is how it could be kinda lore friendly.
WK easy - the armies of Arnor sailed from their western coasts to assist their allies in the south. Most of Arnor is landlocked so the Arnorian sailors used to sail on the rivers of Eriador, so the former rivermen in the Arnorian army constructed the ships
Rangers Lead The Way Well, they have a budget. Modders don't. Devs get paid, Modders mostly don't really get paid. Devs can usually have a very large (for game development) team with Professionals, Modders are generally not professional and can range from 1 to usually just a small group of people. And yet they can make the game so much better. Honestly developers should like, Hire Modders because their graphics are usually worse then what modders make, plus Modders add in stuff that make other games so much more willing to play. Like, Say, Skyrim. Total War games, Fallout, etc. etc.
Well, we aren't doing it for money so we don't need to stop at level which would be enough for publisher. That way we work so that we are ourselves happy with our creations as that is mostly our only prize. I'm making maps as I feel that current ones aren't fun to play for different reasons. Even now I keep working this Cair Andros as crossings aren't good enough thus making ships rather pointless as pointed in video.
WK You did good, though. I like the idea of the ship, if only the mini map didn't give them away lol. Maybe make the River-Crossing sections smaller. perhaps? I don't know, I'm not a developer/modder or whichever. All i really know is that the map looks great, could be better but it made for some excellent entertainment. Keep up the good work!
This is definitely one of the best videos of yours of all time. The rallying out, the sudden panic as you realise the rivers can be forded, the defenders taking advantage of the indecision of the attackers. I don't normally watch your hour long videos all the way through, but I did with this. You said you spent a lot of time on this and it definitely shows.
This is probably my favourite channel of all time. Normally when I like a channel I binge watch all the episodes and eventually get bored within a few months...it's been like 2 years with Pixie and I'm still binging. Long Live the Knights of Apollo!
I love how you did the intro to the different armies, flashing from army to army. No need to show unit comps on third age battles, we already know all the soldiers, orcs, dwarfes, elves and such. Thumbs up.

I love the hidden land bridges in the water. Not sure if many boats can actually use this important river, though... perhaps it's the dry season? :) Loved this siege!
TY. Although I'm still not happy with this version, I have started to edit it bit more easier to cross river. That way it wouldn't get stuck to two bridges and crossings
That moment when Pixel uploads a Third Age video. Find out it's Reforged, but then he says it won't be lore friendly...... Well now the battle has a 50/50 chance of being any good. Now all that's left is the gameplay. It didn't disappoint.
So my theory is that Sauron captured Gondor and subjugated their armies who then pushed north with the men of Rhun to conquer the rest of the free peoples. They rendezvoused with the orcs of gundabad and the remnants of Arnor who surrendered to the witch king. To attack an alliance of dwarfs and the remaining men of Dol Amoroth who fled Sauron's occupation. They received reinforcements from the remains of a failed Haradrim rebellion and orcs from the Misty Mountain who fear the yoke of Sauron and decide to throw their lot in with their normal enemies.
The two armies of Harad and Misty Mountains are renegades that seek peace with the men and dwarves but some men did not agree so that is why Arnor and Gondor didn't agree with that so they joined forces with Rhun and Gundabad (who was looking to punish the Haradrim and Orcs) so now they fight in Cair Andros I think that's a good story :)
When I'm watching your videos I always get some snacks and drinks, and every single time I end up by finishing bags of chips and an entire bottle of cola
Uruk-hai bombers op! Also the reasons why unit fly around apollo because they are in shield wall then when you tell them to charge they surge right through for the hidden mass stat.
someone really should make a battle where a full hobbit army just takes over middle earth. then the goodies and the baddies have to team together to stop the wrath of the hobbit army!
It's be super cool if all the major total war tubers got together and worked on a mod for one of the games that introduced armies skinned and kitted to represent them. Like a Knights of Apollo faction, a Jackie Fish faction, etc. I'd be doing it now if I knew how

I wish they would buff up Misty Mountain heavy goblin infantry, I love to play as them because I think they are a cool faction, but I constantly get destroyed because the heavy goblin infantry cant stand toe to toe against much else. I would love if they either decrease price of all goblin and heavy goblin units, or boost up their elite infantry and diversify their roster
After the fall of Mordor and the death of Sauron, the remaining factions divided into 2 alliances to fight for dominance. The elves has withdrawn from any political/power conflict as they have suffered severe casualties during the previous wars. That's the story behind this battle I guess :3

You still have to credit old school CA. They made an excellent base game that was also insanely moddable, not an easy task.
