That man is truly a creative genius! Plus, gotta love any collection that pays homage to one of the inimitable Grace Jones' most iconic looks.
_ps: I've been reading a lot of reviews that reflect disappointment with the lack of cohesion in this collection. I have to agree with that, but I still love how this designer just goes all out with his creative vision and fearless re-imagining of iconic looks from past eras._
Zentierra finally somebody who got the Grace Jones reference! This whole year has been stuck in beige and blah, I was beginning to feel like that poor horse in Never Ending Story. I truly think some young folks are backing away from the risks we took back in the day. I was in D.C. in 1984 cruising the museums in this kind of stuff, taking mall clothes and giving them a kick back in the hotel, what fun! This collection references that time period, when we rebels put on color in the face of AIDS, Reagan and lack of jobs. But it also goes forward, it has its own voice. I was actually wearing a bright yellow suit jacket when Reagan’s limo clipped me outside one of the museums, too funny! Go get some color, line and shape, kids. Dare ya.
Oliver will go down in the history Books as one of the greatest masters of Fashion. Well done, brilliant collection 👏👏👏

His old style was getting a bit tired so I can appreciate he is trying some new stuff. However, he seems to have lost all focus...
His old style was classic, iconic, and beautiful. Lots of heavy glitter, beading, metal, etc. He should stick to that look.
Beautiful? Yes. But it just isn"t very relevant anymore. Even Kylie Jenner stayed at home...
I thought his old style was beautiful, sexy, unique and iconic. His first few collections over the past few years had so much life and they were absolutely fascinating to watch. This collection couldn't have been any worse and more confusing. This collection literally lacked the DNA of the house and ended up losing the uniqueness. Honestly there was way too many ideas going on and I failed to see much connection among the garments. To me it looks like Olivier is trying way too hard to prove that he's talented and lost it.

What I love about this collection is that it is totally different from all the other shows... This designer has his own unique style and is so creative... Even though these would not be the clothes I would wear myself, I can still admire the talent and workmanship and quality of fabrics. I do wonder about the idea behind the long sleeves and, well so much more... I think this is a display of clothing art for the runway, but these clothes will never actually sell to anyone. Where would a person wear any of these clothes? The big-shoulder look may be in-fashion today but will be out two years from now... I am old enough to remember the big shoulders of the 80's a dreadful look then and even worse today...

The beetle juice stripes, the tribal beaded stuff, the half suits, the post modern geo shapes, the 90’s Versace denim, the slinky 70’s halters and boho skirts, the Grace Jones hoods and boxy blazers - very cohesive.

There was some lovely pieces in this collection but overall I felt there was way too many ideas from different decades thrown in, unfortunately the collection didn't feel cohesive enough for me. I really did like the art deco inspired pieces but overall way too much. It is sad because I haven't liked a whole Balmain collection in years, it's a shame because he is so talented.

Deconstructed 1980's Chanel, Mugler, Gaultier, all mixed together. Don't know whether to love it or hate it, but at least I won't forget it.
It started quite boring, but he really captured that 80s vibe. he is really skilled, i like it a lot

What TF is this??? There's like four different collections presented as one: i see Chanel, Saint Laurent, Etro, and Balmain(?). There's over 100 looks here, and everything looks completely disorganized. 30 looks for this collection would've been enough. And don't even get me started on those fugly ass one legged pants. This collection is a DUMPSTER FIRE 🔥🔥🔥🔥

They are the MOST butch, unattractive group of models this season. It's like the designers have lost all reason on who's buying the line. It's not the butch girls. They are trying to sell to the Non-gender/TRANS/Drag queens/whoever else besides real women. Big mistake!! That's not hate just a bad business decision. Although this collection will fill the drag queens needs for sure.
Most of them look like they 're hurrying towards me to beat the hell out of me but the clothes are also to blame, I think. They 're becoming more and more uncomfortable as the designers are running out of ideas.
I bet too much praises and limelight is affecting the perfectionist Olivier. Some pieces are good but generally overdone ideas with poor styling. Rousteng you can do better

A pleasure to watch and a relief for the eyes, after the catastrophic vision created by MGC's for Dior! (But Balmain needs another stylist, ASAP!)
It was an unforgettable show for me because it was the worst show of the fashion month. Inspiration is of course usual in fashion, but half of the models walked in Jacquemus jackets.

I’m confused what is the central theme of this collection or are we putting out as many ideas and whichever connects with consumers we go with that one? And the black and white stripe is tired now Balmain. The only thing I would take is the colored denim suits which to me looks similar to Fenty!
