A few years ago I tried making transparent wood and it kind of worked. The pieces that I made were somewhat okay, but I was never really happy with the result. I finally decided to try it again though!

It's cute how Nile doesn't realise he's definitely already on that list
“I needed something that was small, but really heavy.”
Nile:
Every time he says "I carefully hit it with the hammer" I expect the hammer to come flying in at full force
It's 1:30am, I'm 26 minutes into this video... and I've never been so emotionally invested in woodchips in my life.
""Why isn't NileRed uploading???"
When Nile is on the final step but there is over 30 minutes left in the video:
"I wasn't exactly sure what the aluminum foil was for, but the paper said to use it, so I just did what it said."
I love that he goes into explaining "alternative medicine" and why its actually bad
Nile always sounds like he broke something and has to explain it to his parents without them getting mad
A summary of all NileRed videos:
Bro the ending when you put it on the paper was one of the coolest things I have ever seen !!!!!!!!!
the sequence .. the narration .. the picture quality ... so amusing
You are the only person who would say “I carefully hit it with a hammer” and then actually hits it very carefully.
I did a short project on this for my chemistry class! In my research I learned a lot about delignification, etc., but I was still pretty confused on how the process worked. The articles and papers I read made it seem really simple and I thought there must be something I was missing. This video would have been super helpful if I had found it.
Handling the microfiber cloth with gloves on is honestly the best idea.

The bigger better sequel we didn't know we needed.
Amazing video with a lot of science and work. Great talent being able to reproduce a process published by an entire lab in a paper. All on your own.
