This would save us crores if not billions of rupees as we wouldn't have to rely either on imported EMDs or indeed technology of P5s given to us by ABB. Train 18 and WAGC3, whether one likes or not, are prominent examples of Make in India vision of the present Govt.

There are many old WAM4 and WCAM1 locos in the south and west, in sheds such as BZA and KYN. It's better they get an afterlife as WAGC3 than being scrapped for metal.

Sunil D this is for freight trains only and will run on dcf only, no crossings with passenger trains.
