Introduction: The Agama Sutra is the fundamental scripture followed by the Theravada Buddhism, which constitutes the Sutra Collection of the Theravada Buddhism period, and is also called "Nikaya" in the Pali Tripitaka. Agama is also translated as Agama, Agamamu, and Agama. The four Chinese translations of the Agama Sutra were read or memorized by monks who came to China from the Western Regions in the fourth and fifth centuries AD. They are different from the Pali Canon, which all came from the Tonglu School. They came from different sects such as the Sarvastivada, Dharmaguptaka, and Mahasanghika. There are many single-sutra translations of the Agama Sutra, which have been translated since the time of An Shigao. In addition, some Agama Sutras are preserved in the Tibetan Tripitaka and the remaining Sanskrit manuscripts and Gandharan manuscripts. The Chinese translation of the Agama Sutra has a corresponding relationship with the Nikaya recorded in the Pali language of Southern Buddhism. Modern researchers of primitive Buddhism also use the Agama Sutra as one of the foundations for reconstructing the original teachings of the Buddha. Its content is mostly the conversations between the Buddha and his disciples, princes, and foreign religious people at that time, which is the record closest to the Buddha's time.
