I was using an iphone xr and I upgraded to the 14 pro - I personally feel it was a great update. I usually upgrade my phone every 3-4 years.
I have a 14 pro too I upgraded from samsung a32🫡🙃
damn
0:34
Pro is too expensive regular 14 would of been a better choice
@@grewgroove8781 hell no
I went from my iPhone SE 1st gen to an iPhone 13 Pro but used. It was a great upgrade especially considering that my SE's battery had to be replaced every 6 months.
I upgraded from iphone 8 64gb to a iphone 13 mini 512gb. I say i made the right upgrade instead on going to the iphone 14 pro. The mini is smaller than my older ip 8 but huge in screen. Battery life is good for my usage i do get around 10hrs on screen time. For work, some photos, for my business i am glad i purchased it and will upgrade if there will be a mini in the future
Amazing no nonsense advice!! This is why I'm subscribed to this channel!
I just bought the iPhone 11. Coming from using the 6. Was very much with the upgrade since the 6 can download much apps.
I have been waited for the smaller phone since years then finally replaced my iPhone XS by 13 mini.
Its best phone i had ever, 5.4" is still big enough screen to write emails, posts on socials and watching YT videos or gaming. No more larger phone ever if possible.
It lays in pocket perfectly no matter you're in work or on sport activities like running or biking, and completely no issues with battery working time - one day of very active up to two days when i am not using phone a lot.
I hope they don't get rid of smaller phones. Android phones should also be smaller as not everyone wants giant phones
I was using an iPhone 6s and upgraded to an iPhone 14 and in my opinion it’s the best upgrade
@@emward6858Ive been using android forever and had the flip 3 for more than a year however the battery is dead, not even 5h and the flip 4 has same issue and most importantly durability issues. Im thinking about getting the iphone 13 mini.
Love the 13 mini 🎉
Wow these are very helpful tips. I myself would never have guessed that I shouldn’t pick the wrong model. THANK YOU
Excellent video. Thanks for all the info.
Helpful. Thank you
I had the XR from launch. Been using the 64GB model for 5years never ran into space issues. This year it just shut down and never turnt back on. I decided to go for the normal 13, I’m really happy with my decision. This being 128GB I don’t see my upgrading for another 5yrs or until this kicks the bucket as well.
Yeah, I never had any space issues with my 64GB either. I think the phone I had before that had 16 GB and I used that up in photos and couldn't add any apps
My personal needs are enough storage for 4 years= 256gb= 64gb a year, a big screen when I watch videos on Netflix and finally the biggest battery so I don't have to worry about it (then I will put in an extra 100$ on a case and screenprotector)!
Classic colours are fine, but I’m in love with the purple. So I’ll get the colour I’m going to enjoy having.
I upgraded from SE (2016) to 13mini, and at first old SE seemed more comfortable, even had that old iphone soul. Now after a while that 13 mini was worth upgrading to, even if I use my phone only for messaging and occasional internet, my old one was just outdated.
How long ago you got it ?
I upgraded from an iPhone XR to a iPhone 14 with the same 256 gbs storage and honestly I feel like I have the same phone just newer model and I rlly like these added features the new model has to offer.
same
My only regret about getting iphone 14pro without doing a research is that the us version doesnt have a phisical simcard.
Good video! Very informative and helpful! Thorough and to the point without a lot of rambling! I like that! My son will be buying a used iPhone soon so this will be very helpful! Thanks!
Thank you for this very useful information 🇬🇧
Thank you so much,Thank you for being honest
I chose the 13mini this year from the iphone7 because they are so similar in size and the mini has amazing battery
where did you buy your 13mini from
I upgraded from my iPhone XR (64 GB) to an iPhone 13 (128 GB) since the battery life was lacking on my XR which I had for 2 years
imagine spending more on a company that doesnt allow you to swap batteries, not to mention other features
I’ve had the 13 pro max, 13, and just got the se 2nd gen. Couldn’t be happier. Battery kinda sucks, but I’m always near a charger so it doesn’t really matter.
About the return policy on accessories... I don't know if it happens in the stores near you, but I've easily returned their Apple cases and headphones before.
I don’t have an iPhone but I do have an iPad and I’d love to see a video on the iPad along the same lines. One thing I hate about Apple (particularly the iPad) they don’t offer much in the way of capacity options . For the mini 6, you have the choice between 64GB
and 256GB. The sweet spot would have been 128GB, I wonder why it wasn’t an option?
Getting back to the phone, I’m not particular about the phone’s colour as I slap a a case on it to protect it from scratches and bumps if I drop it. One other thing I’ve noticed about iPhone users who don’t have the latest phone (or one with MagSafe) that they’re constantly looking for outlets to charge their phones. I’ve found it better to buy an aftermarket (from Amazon as example) power bank to charge the phone. Most of them are small enough you can carry them with you and as long as it’s charged, you can charge your device from wherever you are in stead of scrambling to find an outlet somewhere. In addition they’re safer too than usb ports some which have malware on them.
I am using iPad too , the iPad M1 11 inch, yesterday I went to a Samsung store and have a look of what they have, I came across the Galaxy Tab 8 pro I was blown away, with the same money that I pay for my M1 Pro 11 inch I can buy this Tab of 14 inch with OLED screen and can be use as a laptop replacement with it DEX function and five years security Knox support, I am not a digital aris or UA-camr that love Apple products, Apple need to more aggressive on software than focus on hardware like it did now, the iPad M1 have powerful hardware but not much on the firmware as what Apple were known before
I watching this on my iPhone 12 (upgraded from an iPhone 11) and man the difference is night and day especially with that OLED screen vs the 11’s LCD setup plus the 12 is much lighter
here in hungary i cant even dream about having an iPhone lmao and some people buy one every year, I cant do this anymore
Bro move to Netherlands, u will buy one after couple of weeks
This is why I love the US
im in serbia but hope inflation ends for yall above there
I upgraded from an iPhone 7 plus (128) gb to an iPhone 14 pro (128) gb a day ago. This has been an HUGE upgrade so far, I don’t need extravagant storage and all, i feel like 128 gb is good enough for me, the performance is truly astonishing when compared to the poor 7 i had, no words for the camera, everything has been an huge upgrade, every aspect. I am really satisfied with this phone so far.
My view on this:
1. Would never buy a used iPhone, too risky. But I’ve kept mine for 3-4 years. Here also refurbished iPhones are way too close new ones in price.
2. Made the mistake to recommend SE 2020 to a person. Big mistake. Lousy battery, mediocre camera, she ended up with my old XR and finds it superior.
3. The non-pro models are sufficient for many users who don’t need the advanced camera system. Lighter, good enough screen (I actually upgraded from XR to 14 Pro because I’m into photography and even use the 48 MP RAW, but otherwise..)
4. Screen quality is overrated. Of course there’s a difference compared with my XR LCD-screen at 60 hertz, but for me it wasn’t life changing.😊 Too much focus on 60 vs 120 Hertz.
I'm not quite sure if I should buy the regular 14, the 14 pro or wait for the 15... I'm really into photography, but compared to my iPhone 8 that I have now the camera of the regular 14 should already be a lot better. I'm not really sure if I want to pay €200,- more for just a better camera, while the phone itself will most likely not even fit in my pocket because of the size of the camera. Do you maybe have any advice?
@@hannahjans5742 Going from an iPhone 8 to the 14 Pro is already a HUGE jump. One thing I didn’t think I would actually enjoy, but ended up really enjoying, is the high refresh rate in the newer iPhones. It’s a buttery smooth feel and makes the older iPhones feel clunky. The camera system on the 14 Pro is phenomenal, if you can hold out until the 15 then do that. The iPhone won’t be ancient by any means when the 15 comes out, but you will get more updates on the 15 than the 14.
@@dillonsmith3128 Thanks for replying! I will wait to see what the prices for the iPhone 15 will be and probably make my choice then.
The size difference between 14 and 14 Pro isn’t that significant, weight is on the other hand. But if you’re into photography Pro model has so much more possibilities. If you wait to the 15 series (Pro, that is) there may be a significant improvement. We don’t know yet but larger zoom and more is expected.
Have an iPhone 8 that I don’t have enough space on at 256 gb. As I most likely will keep my next iPhone so long it’ll be worthless for resale or trade in as well and more valuable as a back up I think that justifies me going up to 512 or 1 TB for my next phone.
that's very good advice...
thanks for it
keep it up...
Thanks, very useful video
iPhone 14 is giving problem as internet connection is not stable ,, and poor uploading messages.. I wish apple will bring some improvements related to this issues ..
I had an iPhone 8 64gand went recently to an IPhone 12 128g, felt a difference in camera and performance
Great, useful video!
Just bought a refurbed 11 Pro Max in ‘Excellent’ condition from Backmarket. Got the RAM and screen size I need at a fraction of the latest greatest 14 Pro Max price. And still running the very latest iOS.
I like to get the largest screen size I can for web browsing and Kindle. Better than having a smaller phone and a separate tablet device.
I enjoy this video 📱
Great informative interesting facts
For me it was very hard to make a decision what model to take. Also because the phones look very alike. Also the price is quite high here. When I had my first iPhone which was the iPhone 12 pro I was very disappointed. Before that I had Samsung. I enjoyed the 12 mini more then the 12 pro meanly also because of the price. I liked the 14 more because of the camera but I liked the battery of the 13 more. Now I have the Samsung s23 ultra and I am happy xD
I was using an iPhone 6s for like 2-3 years and recently upgraded to the iPhone 14 and in my opinion it’s the best upgrade
Like me I've not had a phone since my 6s plus so having a 14 is nice and so much as changed with iPhone since crazy so I'm happy with mine and don't plan to upgrade till at least iphone 17 and see a huge difference in no notch dynamic island and a difference in body and camera
I feel like 11 and 13 are models with much better reviews. 12 has a battery that isn't as great and it also tends to have screen problems. 13 gets excellent reviews. 14 has a slightly worse battery situation but where it excels is that it has crash detection and satellite SOS. If you want those though, you might want to wait for the 15 or 16. BUT if money is the bigger issue, going with the 14 might work out because they added those features like Satellite SOS without going up on the price of the 13 and so few people bought the 14 that there are likely to be bigger discounts on it. But you need to know that 13 has better battery life and that is the tradeoff and in the end it is tradeoffs that we deal with. If you are going up from a very old model, you won't even care that 13 PM gets better battery life than 14 PM - because BOTH would have hours more battery life than what you have.
I think the golden rule is, if you don’t have the money don’t buy it. Then buy the best bang for your buck; iPhone 13 mini. 😅
I’m going through this right now, I’m a heavy power user and I got the iPhone 13 Pro.
This phone is amazing and it lasts me all day but I feel like It would have been better for me to have decided on the iPhone 13 Pro Max for the bigger battery . Also after seeing the iPhone 14 models j decided to skip it and maybe even skip the 15, if I would have gotten the 13 pro max I would most likely skip even more after getting the battery replaced and I regret not getting the 256GB model too 😅
The microphone on my Samsung Galaxy A53 5g's microphones (all of them) stopped working after the latest updates. So I switched to iphone after not having one since 2013. I got the Iphone 12 pro 128Gb of storage. At first i was a little disappointed i didn't go with the Pixel 6a or Pixel 7a at first, but now I'm really starting to like iPhones again!!
I have a iPhone 13 and I’m loving it
I usually get what fit my budget when it comes to my iPhone Apple products are expensive anyway so if you can afford something on the higher end go for it I have the SE3 it’s within my budget all what your saying is good advice but if you go over your budget trying to get a good iPhone then you put yourself in a bad spot
I have the iPhone 14 pro max . I like the bigger design. I also like all the features it has to offer vs the plus. 128 GB is enough as I have the 1 TB iCloud storage.
You're in good shape!
128 gb doesn’t have pro res
Was using an iPhone 12pro but upgraded to 13promax 😅 indeed its one of the best ..
so i have an android device an i wan to upgrade to a pro series iphone just because i cant go back to 60 hz and the dynamic island is a cool feauture also the camera and video capability
thanks for the video
for now i have the iPhone 13 regular model 128gb and i am pretty happy
i take a few fotos and i still in almost an year almost 95gb of fere space, dispite of this i have the iPad 9 gen with 256gb where i have the music offline in apple music
I have iPhone 12 and I’m loving it
what physically kills me is that one mom upgrading from a 2 year iphone to a pro iphone with features that they will never use
im upgrading from the 12pro to the 15 pro max. i feel getting the pro adds longevity to the phone in terms of performance. I did regret not going for the 12 pro mainly for battery life so ill all in this round. i was actually gonna hold out for the 16 but my 12 has some damage (my fault) that requires an upgrade
i will do the same :)
I agree with the color. I was planning to buy the blue iPhone 12 mini but I saw that the paint chips around the lens so I chose the white one. Colored phones are also hard to match with any case.
Great advice!
i have a xiaomi mi 11 lite right now and i was thinking of changing my phone in march 2024. which one is more worth it? the important part for me is battery, a big comfortable screen, clear front camera for doing makeup and the overall aesthetic and feel of it. i like flat edges, back camera occupying as little as possible space (not that important)
iphone 12 pro max
iphone 13 pro max
samsung s21 ultra
samsung s23 plus
i never had an iphone or something operating iOS so im kind of scared ill change and wont like it (i like the simple aesthetic but also the fact that you can customise it and the emojis lmao)
Can always use a NVME drive as cold storage. NVME drives are small enough for EDC (everyday carry) and you don't have to rent space in icloud. 😊
omg thank you sooo much
i have the iphone 14 pro max in silver with 512gb! i feel like i'll never need (at least for the next 3/4 years) another iphone. this phone is wonderful. i immediately put on a screen protector and a camera lens protector as on my iphone 13 pro, i cracked the camera lens 4 months in. i know the pro max doesnt fit everyone, but i love the extra screen space, and my hands got used to it quickly!
I have an new XR 2018 with 128 GBs and have no problems.
I do want 5G, better graphic quality, more RAM and better chip, and I will wait for SE4 to be released next March. At $599, I can wait for that although with 92 percent battery health, I can afford to wait a couple of years more.
I had a 14 Pro and I hated it. The battery was trash. I had to tweak so many settings and turn off features that it felt janky by the time I got decent battery length out of it. I used the Pixel 8 for awhile and tried a refurbished 13. I love it. Great battery without turning anything off. Still has 94% battery life. I bought that same blue.
I am gonna get a Starlight iPhone 13 with 256GB of storage. I personally went through all stages you listed even before I watched the video. I'm coming from a 2020 cheap Samsung (Galaxy A12, black, 64GB) and the 13 is just about perfect for me.
Hiii twin
13 is a good choice, been using it for 2 months now mainly just for video (I still use android as my daily phone) and the 256gb is just enough, for battery at first it drains fast, but once it hits the 50% mark, that's where it lasts longer, and I don't agree to those people saying it's camera won't be able to compete against pro or pro max, I'm a videographer and editor myself so I know my thing, all I need is that cinematic mode, a good 3-axis gimbal and an anamorphic lens and I'm good to go! 😊
Question 1 would be how are you going to carry your phone. My XS Max fits nicely in my front pocket and I mostly carry it in my messenger bag. But my pants have good pockets for that. If you are a pocket carrier, then, you need to go to the store and test it out. But going small, you lose battery life and have to charge it more often. And if you have vision problems small sucks.
Good vid I like that your telling people to go to the store
I upgraded to an Iphone 14 pro max from a used XS max, and the upgrade was worth for me, I held up for so long, and the wait was worth it.
Yes me too from the iPhone XS to iPhone 14 pro and it was worth waiting for I am very happy until I saw the 13 mini which looks very compact and adorable
Thx for the video and great tips
I use a pretty low spec andriod.. And I'm thinking of buying a new phone after 5 years now...
Could you please help me with what you suggest? Andriod or iPhone 13?
I got an samsung s10plus and i got it for 5 years and decided to get the iphone 14plus is it a good upgrade? This is my first time using an apple phone
One thing to keep in mind… if you use a case…. Likely color does not matter so much, until you sell
I think this advice (picking the wrong model [at the time of initially shopping]) applies to both groups (both iOS and Android) because I see this with Samsungs too, any one star review complaining about the battery life in the entry flagship model (S23/S22). People in either camp need to learn how to read spec sheets more thoroughly before making up their mind, so they don't end up writing a scathing review due to their own misjudgement of the specs. (note: it applies to a majority of phone brands in the Android camp, yes even Motorola)
I always wonder when I see those complaining reviews "what in the world were they doing that wasted so much battery?" or "were they keeping it plugged into a Quick Charging battery pack or the charging brick when at home?", again I don't think it matters what team you're on when it comes to this particular complaint, since it's about the battery life.
It kind of seems like many people buy phones based off of their names and cost rather than what's included in the spec sheet then after they receive it they misuse it (in the case of leaving it charging at all times).
I have 13 pro max and I think kepp him for long time...
I plan on getting an iPhone 15 Pro Max , which would be the first iPhone since I have been using Android for 15 years my question is I hear iPhones use more storage than Android and I want to confirm that. I also will be coming from a Pixel 7 Pro
Had a iPhone 11 since 2019 and I just bought the iPhone 14 pro max 3 days ago and I bought the Apple Watch as well
The biggest mistake i made is passing up the iPhone 13 pro max and rolled out with the Samsung galaxy s22+ just because I'VE always been android
I was drooling over the iPhone 13 pro max but walked out with a s22 galaxy and got a great deal I love my s22 galaxy except for one flaw and that is how the power button is too close to the volume button...that is a bad design to me. Everytime I go to turn up the volume I turn off my phone or if I screen shot I sometimes turn off my phone. But I would of had to pay 400 more for the iPhone 13 pro max and I wasn't willing to pay that much for something I didn't have to have and to be honest I am glad I didn't because the s22 is sometimes too heavy in my hand so the pro max would of been even harder on my hands as much as I use my phone. I always thought bigger was better but not now.
the biggest mistake people make when they get the wrong iphone is they didnt really get the one they wanted.
yes they want a good iphone but they should think about that before they buy one.
everyone thinks they know what they want but then they change their minds so thats one of the biggest mistakes. you should never change your mind even if you want to.
in my experience you should buy the phone you want and NOT the one you think you want!
simple!
I dont want to spend much and I dont care about the pro models I just want performance because I am on my phone a long time.Which Iphone should I buy?
0:28 Let me introduce you to Samsung, which has probably released 200 models at the very least last year
I got an new, sealed, iPhone 14 for 650 Euro two days ago. I think an iPhone 14 Plus would fit my needs, and hand size better, but for this price, it was an excellent deal and I couldn't pass it off.
Would've you?
It's not "Don't Buy" rather *Who can Buy ?!* 😂 Apple may be much cheaper in the U.S compared to all other countries but truth is at the price it is around the world, we get top premium android phones that not only have more features but also security boasted by the iPhone. Of course in terms of longevity (lifespan) and battery, it still may hold a higher position but that's about it.
Actually, all apple accessories are returnable. Apples return policy applies to everything except software or items that are specifically activated for a person.
Cases and stuffs are returnable within two weeks just like the phones
I upgraded from the XR to the 13 pro, the phone is amazing and a great upgrade. I even got the right storage (256GB) but I started regretting a month after purchase for not getting the pro max. Now, I'm waiting for the 15 pro max to change, the main reason being the battery.
IPhone 13 has better battery then pro
@@rajann44 yes but pro model has better camera and 120hz
Can I have your iPhone13 mate😂😊
It’s all prospective most ppl want the newest and top model for 1 reason only!
Trying to impress people!
Who gives a sh** what anyone thinks’ if you’re a real photographer you’re not using an iPhone for pictures lol imho the only reason the tier levels exist is the psychology’
Oh man you have the base model Aka tier 1 you’re not cool if you don’t have the pro Max aka tier 3
It’s all a scam to get more money and it works’ Most
ppl don’t have the restraint they will shell out 1200$ every year which is absolutely stupid!
While me from iphone 6 64gb to 12 pro 256gb great choice for you. The only problem is the bettery life before this i tried jump to android phones but still not good enough for me this is how the ecosystem works i guessing? 😂
My iphone was 12 pro. now its being 4 year old with me not found any issues yet but only the problem is the battery life
considering color to avoid visible scratch... id consider using a phone case :/
I had iphone 12 pro. I sold it because it was to big and heavy and storage was just 256gb, which is too less for me. I bought smaller phone iphone 13 mini with 518gb storage and now I have bigger memory for photos etc and phone is small qnd I cqn put it into my throusers pocket.
Although I've had a mobile since analogue days, I got my first iPhone today. A big shock was that I could not put in a micro SD card in to boost my storage.
Yes like this only I also got shocked when I got my iPhone one year before 😅😐
I made recently a update to iPhone 12 i think it’s really good
As far as storage goes, I had 64 GB since 2018 and it was enough for my many apps and photos. I am not a big video taker though. I would recommend not going below 64. I have the sense if you aren't making your own content for the internet 128 would be plenty. If you are big into posting content on social media, 256 would be minimum.
But what if you buy iPhone in the phone provider like verizon or tmobile
I'm grateful for the advice, but I can only speak for myself when I say that I'm going to buy whichever phone I want regardless of what anyone advises.
All he said was do your research.
It’s simple the plus model is the best option from the 14 line up to buy for the everyday average person this coming from a pro max only user but 99% of people don’t need the useless pointless extra features the pro & pro max models have
Apple should give new chip in plus and normal to and give 90h
@@MuzammilKhan-oi6td nah bro they would lose money that way
@@sjsjsdjdjdk3646 how would they lose money apple use new chip in 13 to and might be that people won't buy it
@@MuzammilKhan-oi6td although I personally would love all iphones having the same chip less people would buy the pro and pro max models and apples goals is to sell as many pros and pro maxes it can. Plus if you use a old chip it saves more money. In the end it would be a huge w for the costumers if all models had the same chip even for me.
@@sjsjsdjdjdk3646 you know that 15 non pros will have old chip so how is it gonna be saving money I mean even in android they give even 165 it more chip then apple non pros if you are a gamer and won't best battery without lag then apple lost in that and if people didn't buy there non pros apple will lose bug money like how in the 14 non pros make apple lose a lot money apple just doesn't want to sell pros they want to sell non pros to if people didn't buy non pros apple will lose a big money again when 14 non pro fail apple lost big money in that
I have an XR and was going to get the 14 Pro before my vacation but I’m thinking of just waiting until after my trip when the 15 pro comes out.. :/
I bought used iPhone 12 Pro and it’s a amazing phone It got a 128gb, 100% BH but it’s not a original apple screen and Face ID works normally I got it for 450€
Which is better iphone 12 pro max or 13?
went from 6 plus to 14 pro silver, best choice ever.
Do iPhones, like 14, ever go on sale at the Apple store?
I agree about the Pro thing. I see Pro iPhones everywhere and I cannot imagine what makes most people think $200 more is worth it for ?? 2x optical zoom and macro photos? I can't imagine why people would do it except for they wanna feel like they bough the Most Expensive phone.
200$ is worth it for dynamic island, better processor, better camera, better display (promotion) and always on display
that’s a lot for $200
@@nothingatall3104is it tho?
@@LKomo yes it is, especially if you’re using your phone for a really long time.
I feel like a lot of people buy it for looks, and mainly for the dynamic island. Also promotion is very nice and people who have never experienced 120hz probably won’t take promotion much into consideration
It worth it dude, many people are much concerned about large screens and a good battery life, you can only get this on the pro max models.
I just got my iphone 14 pro max 256 gb 4 days ago from using an iphone 8 plus 64gb for 6 years. So I guess, I deserve this upgrade. But I have this attitude that I cant let go of my old phone, I feel like using it again and again😢😢😢😢.
Stop saying that the 13 mini doesn't last for a full day !!!
It's incredible how tech reviewers on YT are disconnected from the real usage.
I got myself a duo iPhone MagSafe and Watch charging dock. They allowed me to return it to the Apple Store in a week.
I have my iPhone 11 and it does not last me through the day, I have to charge it at like 2pm, my day starts at 7:35 Pm. Any iPhone out there that can last me all day without being a pro max or pro phone?
If I decide to go with iPhone after being a lifelong android user Samsung galaxy s22+ is my current device my mother has the iPhone 14 plus and i like the device battery life is one of my favorite things I've heard about the iPhone 14 plus hopefully ill be able to come to making the right choice
