- RC30 expert, Jim Granger, of Blackheart Racing joins Abhi to gives us the rundown on his custom build RC30!
Jim originally acquired the bike around 1990. During that time, he also purchased a lightly built stock engine (the one currently installed) from Ray Plumb when he was with American Honda. In 2013, Jim and his son, Russ, campaigned the bike in the Manx Grand Prix. The pair had installed different bodywork, but here are some shots of the bike upon completion and as it was raced!
The auction is currently live on Iconic Motorbikes, don't miss out on your chance to bid on this iconic piece of history!

Great story. I raced with Russ and his dad during the WSMC days before that organization folded, and then on to AHRMA. I really looked up to Russ in those early days because he helped me out so much when I first got started. Lots of memories here. Thank you
Thank you, Jim Granger. God Bless you and your family
❤And what a beautiful RC30…and rip Randy Renfrow a gentleman and a class act.❤
An excellent interview. Thanks I enjoyed listening to a genius.
Beautiful colour scheme ❤
Imagine that this gentleman in the beginning of 90’ was 40/50 yo.
Guys remember to enjoy every moment of your life because time flies !
What a awesome bike. And a great story
Cool video, Abhi!
..Tony Scott was a huge loss only too recently. An absolute icon over here in the uk. A vast majority of his work being done from a tiny home workshop. Also a legend on the CBR600 motors. Dave Hancock used to have a close working relationship with him and would visit to discuss the developments that Tony had made. Sadly, too few magicians like these fine Sirs left now. 👍
Phillip McCallen owes a lot of his success to engines that Tony Scott performed his magic on as did many other racers.
Fantastic bike, before Ducati there was the RC 30
💯
