For the people complaining, you don’t know how refreshing it feels to see yourself represented. As boring as their lives may be, as closed ended, the characters aren’t meant to hold a story. They are meant to show the existence of the truth of life as dull as it may be. Many of them share the lower middle class lifestyle where no matter how hard you work, success is unattainable.
beautiful movie. the final story is one of the most agonising depictions of loneliness and yearning i've seen in film
Really liked this. Yes it is slow, and short on plot, and sound cuts out for a few minutes, but it's sweet and beautifully shot. Three of Maile Meloy's short stories strung together. Now I have to go read the stories. Had no idea corgis chased tractors...
I thought this movie was brilliant. The ability of the actors to portray sensibilities without so much dialogue. Simplistic but powerful.
Certain Women is about people who need people, and the movie doesn't need a musical score, as there is none, to portray human sensitivity. Shoot 'em up movies are a dime a dozen, this is not one of those.
Most people probably won't get this movie - the mood created, the videography, the ability to convey feelings, sensitivity, message *without* the need for useless dialogue, fancy sets, loud noise, frenetic action. Those people should probably stick to movies like Bloodsport, Spiderman, or Robocop.

Still do not understand why people find it so fascinating to watch trains. Just like airplanes or watching construction crews work. Do not understand it, BUT so much enjoy it myself. Like smoking. does not make since but people get something out of it

Laura Dern's character is a wimpy one... for a lawyer, she's not very bright and has no spine. Poor guy (hostage taker) he really got screwed in this storyline

I have seen the Movie and it shall show how Live in the Pampas can be: Annoying. How do you show this without being annoying: I do not know.
From Time to Time Authors feel the Need to Adress these Topics and sometimes they achieve their Goal. But you as a Watcher will be frustrated. So how many Times in your Live do you want to spent Time to read a Book or watch a Movie like this?
Not very often. But If you want to experience such a Book or Movie you can do it with this.
Nobody can blame you to stop after 15-20 Minutes and then express your Frustration.

There’s not one performance in “Certain Women” that I enjoyed-with the possible exception of Laura Dern’s ; she being the best actor by far, in this ridiculous movie. . . The most annoying by far, are Michelle Williams AND the guy who played Dern’s melodramatic legal client.
I lack the energy to go into how flawed the film is, irrespective of the acting. Suffice it to say that I’ve never been impressed with Kelly Reichardt, and this production did nothing to change my mind.

I watched this for what? Didnt get too much out of it.
Sometimes it’s not a lesson or a meaning you get out of film but rather a feeling or simply something you visually enjoy. Art is enjoyed differently through the eyes of others it might not resonate with you.
45 minutes in and its so boring!!! What's the point??? Moving on....

This was the slowest, most boring film. So much of it filmed in darkness, not that there was ever anything to see. At least it showed that some people have even more boring, hopeless lives than we do, scrolling along.

I kept waiting for the point... watched 2/3rds of the movie and now I just feel confused and depressed. Save your energy & wellbeing and watch something else. Seriously, it's the worst movie I've ever seen.
